My Phantom build

I am looking to start playing with the big boys in advanced and Elite STFs and would like people to evaluate my build and point out where I need improvement.

    Looks alright-ish.

There's the obvious Amp-core this Fleet-tac-console that but I'm sure you already know so I'll skip it.

If you're running an AP build, I doubt the phaser lance has much punch. Probably could put something more useful there. Given the number of enemies using shield-stripping/bypassing stuff lately, personally I'd go a Fleet Neutronium.

3 Torp skills is overkill, especially since you have Reciprocity. I'd personally drop to just High Yield (since you're running a single-target set up with Surgical Strikes) and replace the Spread with an attack pattern and warhead transport with ionic turbulence.

You have 3 different +energy set-piece consoles there but are using a standard Thoron torp? Why not throw in a set torp, either the Gravimetric for a crit bonus, or the Neutronic for spike damage? Use what you got right?

    Just some quick-n-dirty thoughts.

Kool. I'll give those a try. I am not sure why I kept the Thoron torp. Ev en as I was doing up the build on STO Academy I was asking why it was there.

My ? for you is, do you have the doff that reduces cd timing for, evasive maneuvers from the CCE event?

If so, I would toss in some ep2eng in there, to keep you moving quickly, as evasive offers some good defense bonus which will trigger reciprocity more often.

Same for using 1 APO as well.

you already have 1 of the intel skills, to reduce enemy [acc] so, good choice imo there.

Without some form of hull resists you will have issues in advanced.

AP cannons are fine, but why dmgx3? SS demands critD.

Use enhanced bio torp for HY and remove that spread.

Borg shields without the sets... is meh. Use dyson if you want regenerative and mass spike heals every 30 sec. Use fleet if you want cap. Borg shield is only good with full set.

Amp core is best, but the one you have can work till you get an amp core.

Overall you need mk xiv on everything for elite... advanced is doable however it will not be easy with what you have.

Evade target lock is useless, compared to intel team. But why need either? If you use the trait you want to be shot at.

As stated above if you have the recharge evasive doff with EP2E use it. It helps the trait A LOT.

APO... every escort who is single target should have it. Will help the trait, damage, resistance, tractors, grav wells, and getting in position... or out of a position. Even double APO is great because of the long CD the trait sometimes doesnt cut it enough.

Use single TT and 1 doff(blue/purple) for its cooldown. With the trait you should be at global as long as you are not sitting still.

Phaser lance is helpful somewhat but could be used with another thing since your not boosting its damage. But it can trip those intel specials that can help with a big target.

The primary reason behind evade target lock, is it applies a negative [acc] debuff to intended target, making the reciprocity trait trigger more often.

Also, makes mines and, targetable torpedoes, not able to detect you for a short bit.

Intel team, makes it so that you are not noticeable, by cloaking you and, reducing threat to you so, intel team is by far worse at getting reciprocity to trigger. [Yes, I know it adds defense also but, if they aren't shooting at you, than what good is the extra defense really?]

While evade target lock, can help.

Intel team doesn't add defense, that's the Eclipse starship trait. Also evade target lock can be amazing on a boss, and with reprocity I can keep on the boss for a while.

I made a few changes. I am currently fleetness so any fleet stuff is on the back burner for now.
    I added the Neutronic torpedo
I took the lance out and put a regular neutronium alloy until I can find a fleet
I replaced transport warp head with ionic turbulence
Took out the torp spread and added APO
I did have the CE doff so I switched out EPTW for EPTE

Guess i just didnt know what evade did. LOL i thought it just made everyone not be able to target you at all, but if it is like you say it seems quite good. I run a defiant since i didnt like the looks of the phantom so i have no intel abilities. I only ran it for the trait.

If using EP2E doff i would make it EP2E 1 not 2 but thats a choice. i only use it to spam evasive every 45 sec.

1 other thing i noticed back when i ran this ship was while parsing my runs to see what was working best was that DBB were out damaging my DHC's by a lot while using SS, and i am not sure why. I ended with running 4 DBB front with turrets in back. SS boosts both so it worked well and gave me about 5k more dps. Again i have no idea why since DHC's should have more critD than the DBBs.
