I am cautiously optimistic about this series, considering it's a remake I have thus far been pleasantly surprised by what I've seen. All being well this will prove to be a worthy successor to the original!

I'm hopeful as well that this version is a descent show as well.

Now if some US network snags it...

Cryptic, would you actulaly like me to spend actual Money? It's Simple:
    • Full, Story-driven, select from start 1-50 Klingon Side
    • Scrap current Lock Box & Lobi system for something more reasonable
    • Expand Dil and Rep/Fleet Marks to regular story content

I approve strongly of the CGI versions of the old Supermarionation puppets.

The CGI Captain Scarlet series was good, so I'm cautiously optimistic, although without Anderson's influence, I have reservations...

I always admired Captain Blue... Captain Scarlet was indestructible, Captain Blue wasn't, but he still had to back him up and go where he went :D Always felt sorry for Captain Black, because he was not only the Mysteron's puppet, but his consciousness was aware of what he was being forced to do, but was unable to do anything to prevent the actions...

Interestingly enough, the response to the first episode being shown has already given ITV confidence enough to already commission a full second series/season.

There's an interview here with VFX Producer Sharon Lark, which finally explains why there hasn't been mention of Jeff Tracy.

I've been looking forward to this since I first heard about it last fall.

    The trailer looks great.

Ditto. WETA did an incredible job on those CG versions, too! Nostalgia, here we come!

I also like that the Father is missing when the show starts.
Adds a new twist to the revamp.

So glad I saw this trailer today and not tomorrow :-P

I got my 4 year old hooked on the trailer (I hope that's okay ;) ). Now I just *need* to see this show. it's becoming a moral imperative.

While i'm enthusiast about the new series, i am also a bit disappointed at the fact they didn't use puppets for the characters.

I mean, it's a really good idea to return to classic model and miniature special effects, but then, why using CGi characters instead of staying 100% true to the classic series and going for advanced puppetry?

    Money.

    It's that simple, sadly.

There's a couple of minor issues that I had, but I thought this was really quite good.

    Thunderbirds Intro.

    Thunderbird 1 Launch.

    Thunderbird 2 Launch.

I do like the OP for this new series.

Now if someone would just acquire US rights for it...

Now that's how you do a reboot. I was as giddy as a kid watching it. Heck, I felt like a kid again. Just what I needed today. The moment we heard the original Jeff countdown at the opening. ... In fact, my one and only complaint is having the countdown for every launch. Keep it for the intro of course, but it can get overused for every launch. Roll on the rest!

That was one of my issues, after 26 episodes this series/season, that's gonna get old real fast.

You know, other than the little nods and Easter eggs, like them all having the same method of getting to the ships as the original, just enhanced, or how they crafted a story that uses all 5 Thunderbirds for the pilot, I think the thing I loved the most about it was how they made tb5 an important part of operations. I know John was originally not used and left in space because Gerry Anderson didn't like the character, but I absolutely adore how they've made him not just picking up distress calls, but acts as coordinator of the rescue. Keeping track of everyone and relaying the info and data feeds. It makes it feel more like a proper rescue organisation.
