In Game E-Mail System

Since the in game e-mail system is accessed via the user interface... I figure here is as good of a place to put this...

The following situation is the reason why I am about to make this suggestion:

On 03/09/15 I had a BUNCH of Omega Trace sales expire from the exchange... 38 instances of stacks of 27. Instinctively when I checked my in game mail and saw that the message said the items were being returned to me, it was my impression that it was all going back to my inventory right from the get go, and I deleted the messages rapidly as I do with any other message from the exchange after a sale. MUCH to my surprise... I discovered that my inventory was QUITE absent of those traces. I sent in a ticket and was told by the support team, in not so many words, that I was basically screwed and couldn't have my deleted messages with the attached items restored.

In light of this... I would like to push for a "Trash Can" feature to be added to the in game mail system to avoid any more PERMANENT e-mail deletions.

As someone who's accidentally deleted a lockbox ship once, thanks to the "feature" that auto-selects new mail if it arrives while the mail window is open, even if you're just about to delete something...I support this 100%.

I would also recommend an option that would make it impossible to delete mail that contains items without first picking up the items.

And of course this wouldn't be a problem at all if the exchange wasn't designed to spam our mails in the first place. Couldn't there simply be tabs in the exchange window for sales reports and returned items?

Love both of those ideas too =^_^=

Let's EVERYONE who would support these ideas reply with SOMETHING at the very least so the Devs and Mods don't pass this over as a dead thread and pay no heed to it.

Yeah, similar situation. I actually told a Dev and they told me to file a ticket. The response to my ticket was "LAWL!" Seriously, they offered no help at all. Not sure why I was even directed to file a ticket.

I guess the reasoning may have been if enough people complain about it, something might be done.

    Here is to hoping.
No, I am not who you think I am. I am someone different. I am instead a banana.

Or a warning that you need to visit a mail station to get your stuff back.

Or eliminate the need for mail stations altogether. What gameplay purpose does that serve, anyway? "Oops! I'd like to keep raiding with you guys, but I gotta go pick up my mail."

That's actually a good point too.
