To the OP, (someone has to be on topic in this thread!)
The Tholian shields were from an older content, the likelyhood of fixing/updating old content is not very, guess we should be glad its just a cosmetic thing :P
[Combat (Self)] Your Bite deals 2378 (1475) Physical Damage(Critical) to Spawnmother.
(im assuming)
When a tholian NPC is hit, the shield graphics have a shade of red, where playable characters when attacked have a more white/grey shield bubble of sorts

On the Tholian Tarantula gallery for sto wiki, there is a picture with a red cloud surrounding the Tarantula. No idea if this effect is a Tarantula only ability or if all Tholian npc ships can use it.
Either way, having a Tier 6 Tholian Tarantula ship would likely force me out of my Recluse.
Tholains are, for all sense and purpose, crystalline arachnids that can only exist in extremely hot temperatures that would essentially MELT other living things. Their ships would have atmosphere controls defaults to maintain these temperatures. Their consoles would be built for a multi-appendage entity, not a bipedal one. In order to make a Tholian ship even remotely useable by non Tholians it would have to be stripped down and basically rebuilt from scratch
So I dont think whether or not its shields are red is really an issue .

It is surprising how little of the Tholian Bridge is actually usable. There are actually no walls or ceilings on that bridge. What some people consider to be a wall or ceiling is actually a floor or door that is only usable by Tholians.
Tholian ships have a red shield impact effect when they get hit.. similiar to the Elachi having a green hexagon/honeycomb shield effect when they get hit(which you CAN get via either the Elachi ships or Counter-Command Shields, IIRC).
I think it would be neat if they added it to the Nukara shields. That said, I'd rather see them add Warp/Sing Cores if they're revisiting the old sets.

Yeah... the Breen Bridge is pretty much the same, just the polar opposite. A LOT of open, useless space and the AC cranked to 11....

Yes, please. As has been opined in other threads, it wouldn't be that out of place given the other super-large ships players can already fly (most notably the Scimitars and Bulwarks - which latter I suspect are dreadnought-sized beacause of Voth building practices). Alternatively, a smaller replica (i.e. a cruiser-class ship differing only in scale from the original) wouldn't be unwelcome, either.

I've seen videos that show off the Tholian bridge. It's interesting and all, but given the above explanation, I'm surprised that it doesn't show any of the obviously-necessary refitting (for example, having seats added). That said, yes, the unique visual effect would be a logical thing to add to the NST shield.

M'kay, I looked. Was there supposed to be something up there?
Well, for me it is a white ceiling so, I suppose the OP could have something here.
Praetor of the -RTS- Romulan Tal Shiar fleet!
I don't know.....I looked....and mine is kinda' red-ish. Maybe it's time to paint the walls. :P
oh.... I'm outside.
You're right, STO Phaser Guy is not a Tholian.
thought he was 'Handsome Phaser Guy'
*shrug*
