looking for a welcoming, helpful RP group/fleet

I'm new to STO RP, However I know what I'm looking for.

I want to find a group of nice, welcoming RPers, serious about trek lore and cannon, who try to RP the setting as faithfully as possible.

Looking for a group who will welcome a newbie to the STO RP scene and help me fit in and get what I think most people look for in STO RP - a chance to take part in the epic adventures and stories the trek universe can offer.

In great armour I shall clad him and with the mightiest weapons he shall be armed.

    Only active RP group I know is the Tal'Diann, a KDF-allied Romulan fleet. They have a fedside fleet too, but they're mostly KDF side. I've interacted with them a little, and they're universally welcoming, friendly, kind, and fun. They have strict policies against trolling, bigotry, and the usual fleet drama, and they even do the Open Starbase Project thing.

    Talk to protogoth if you want to know more, she's awesome.

    The Storytellers and Diversity are both really good RP-oriented fleets.

    Thanks for the offers, I got my romulan into Tal'Diann, and will be sure to check out the other groups for my other characters.

    As for Starfleet Dental- I had a good laugh at that one.

    I think my romulan serves Ba'al. Her plasma rifle looks a bit too much like the gun in that picture :D

    I am with you. This is my first MMO, and I only started because I am a long time Trek Geek (I gave up saying Trekkie or Trekker a long time ago). Having played Starfleet Battles, FASA Starship Combat & RPG, I was hoping for something in the same tone.

    I have met some RP oriented folks, but not many canon following; they are off on a variant. Give me a ping in game to chat or send a message via forums.

    As a side note you may be interested in the "Star Trek Battles" chat channel.
    While I am not an admin there (just a casual user), I have found they are welcoming of RP'ers in their interactions running PVE's together and are a generally friendly bunch.
    People often speak in character and post a brief dialogue before starting a mission, gather in a specific spot to warp in and out as a fleet etc.
    Its nice :)

    EDIT: and they do not care about DPS, if you bring it because youre all full of shiny gear with no space then fine, if you want to run a Constitution class with old school phasers they will back you to the hilt and who cares if you win or lose so long as its all in good fun. They often do themed runs too (OS, TNG, ENT) etc.
