[Suggestion] Make STF Loot "Round Robin"

feordilagorgefeordilagorge Member Posts: 247 Arc User
I say this because:

#1 There is just too much going on during an STF to worry about reading what drops and clicking on it, and

#2 Everyone knows that the "Need" button in STFs is really "Greed".

Just make it Round Robin so everyone gets something at random. No popups.

The party leader can change the loot option to that mode - with N&G item quality filters.

As for changing it to the default.. I'm pretty indifferent - I tend to just pass on everything 99% of the time.

I support the OP 100%. I've been begging on the forums since the day I started playing STO to get rid of this immersion breaking, time wasting system of loot. It is outdated and takes clicks that could be better used actually playing the game.

    ROUND ROBIN PLEASE!

Party leader can only change it in premades. PUG que does not allow it.

Even the time you spend clicking "pass" could be used to actually click some thing useful.

Team loot defaulting to round robin has been on my wish list for... five years.

In the mean time add your preferred to your keybind that you use most often. W, A, S or D I suggest.
    • lootrollneed
    • lootrollgreed
    • lootrollpass

    For space:
    /bind s "+inverilbedown $$ lootrollpass"
    For ground
    /bind s "+backward $$ lootrollpass"
    SCM - Infected(S) - DMG Out: 11,776,567 DPS: 114,224.70 (28.7% of Team) - Pinky@ukcaptain420
I reserve the right to have a completely different standpoint depending on my mood.

maybe if you wanted to either 'need' or 'pass' everything. i would find that super annoying myself, if i wanted to actually choose need or pass. i wouldnt really want my ships movement being dictated by whether i wanted to need or pass loot.

    i just use ctrl+q

I would support this change to public queues as well. Paying attention to and selecting the right choice is too hectic, especially during space combat, and most of the stuff is just treated like trash loot anyhow.

I honestly wonder why this need/greed/pass nonsense remains in any MMO these days. One would think instanced loot, as seen in the likes of Torchlight 2 and Marvel Heroes, would be the norm.

There are cases where it is useful, such as when it's a team with friends doing story stuff.

But STFs? No. It usually ends up being NEED/PASS instead, with more NEED than PASS.

So in an environment where people have little, if any, incentive NOT to hit NEED, RR fits.

    Yes please.

And you can chase "Need or Greed" to "Pass or Want", because "Greed" is "Need", not "Greed". I you catch my meaning.
