As far as I know they've put 400 billion solar systems in the game. Don't do they get a redundant after a while? I mean, hand-crafting so many solar systems sounds impossible to me... or did they actually manage to do that?

lol yea that would be truly impossible with our today's technogical capabilities. Each of the known and already discovered star systems by the NASA are hand-crafted. So far 160k star systems and anomalies have been discovered and charted by them. All the other unmapped and undiscovered objects and systems are generated procedurally ofc. :)
But as soon as the NASA discovers new celestial objects they'll be implemented into the game as hand-made bodies a couple of weeks later:

example: the recently discovered earth-like planets kepler 438b and 442b, 1.1k ly's away from earth.

Too bad it's Windows only for now. Though even if it's about to come out for the Mac as well I doubt I'll get it, for true games (cause STO isn't anymore at this point) I play on the PS4. Thing is my computer is not meant for hardcore gaming lol.

Seems a pretty good one though. If it came out for PS4 as well, I'd jump on it in an instant.

From what I gather, there is 400 million different star systems but they only create once found.
I've heard there's a fair bit of random generation involved.

ED isn't a perfect space sim, there were design choices to improve things like dog fights (the turreting issue etc).

SC is probably more realistic but frankly there's nothing really to do currently.

Apparently it is hitting consoles at some point too.

Why are you guys playing such a boring game.

    Come on down to EvE.

I won't shoot you Zelda. I'll fly your wing and escort you where ever your going... ya that's it. :) Escort... if your light on ammo I may even send a few rounds over so you can protect yourself.

Kidden this is funny... Glad to see the STO community is having fun where ever it goes.

Played eve, expensive and boring. 10 times the grind of ED to get anywhere. No direct control, over complicated.

Its as boring as you make it... and it has had direct control since Dec. From what I have seen it is no more complicated then ED, and there are in fact things to do.

    "Side note:
You can loose all your earned achievements and ressources in Elite which means if your ship gets destroyed and if you are unable to reclaim it by paying the insurance for it, you are forced to restart with the beginner ship lol."

Can we get this feature in STO?

It's funny when the best thing to talk about PvP wise is how much fun the PvP community of this game is having in another game.

GG Cryptic. You took an awesome community (and an amazing game in it's day) and ran it into the ground because you lacked any and all capability to see beyond the short term.

Isn't Zelda the guy who always used to go on about how STO needs open pvp where if you destroy someone's ship they lose that ship and have to buy it again? And how awesome that would be because then the strong would rule and the mewling weak would run like the cowards they are?

My how the times have changed.

Open play would never work in sto.
It's too small, its also got far to much p2w.
    No skill required.
At least ED, SC and eve require some pilot skill.

But this is nothing... that Rage Attack in our TS was the best of the best. That was just soooo EPIC... dammit.. we forgot to REC. this.. for a new Ringtone or so.. . :D

    @Zelda

    Let me make something clear..

.. if you are so stupit & arogant to believe nobody can touch you in the " OPEN WORLD " is that just your mistake. Think about that.

    btw.

    Erectile Dysfunction Pvp?

And to the op while it is funny to see the greatest hobo pvper QQ HARD did you seriously have to bring it over to sto? I mean yeah I made a QQ scora thread but damn it was this game. Also did he really come back over to this game just to kick Bauk from hobo's just because of something Bauk did over there?

This almost makes me want to post some tear screenshots that come from when I play pogo No Limit Texas Hold. Often times I purposely get on the short stack by almost 50 percent just so my opponents start betting me aggressively. A few hands later when the table is down to 2 players I change it all up and 80 percent of the time end up winning. The QQ often times flows hard in the chat box :) I will start screening those and sending them this way. After all no limit hold em takes more brains to play then this games pvp :P

Why would you have an image of that saved/bookmarked? It's not even that juicy. The fact that you have that mail saved seems much more disturbing than the mail itself...or that Pandas has spies in HoBOs to relay that mail to you...just really odd stuff.

Oddly enough, pandas have a website WITH a photo gallery section. I know this is a lot to take in. Saving funny pictures on the internet is pretty advanced stuff, so sorrh this confused you so. We also have your childish but hysterical, and sadly true, rant about Pheo.

Hope that helps, common sense is hard to come by thesr days.

Because your fleet is a constant source of entertainment, and not in the good way. It's the same reason parents hold on to photographs of their children even as they continue to mature and grow into adults: amazing memories.

Just a few bonus things I saved that doesn't have much to do with HoBOs:

Yes! I clicked on that one first cause I knew it would be mine!

But the fact that you have all this stuff is actually quite creepy.

And if you think my post was serious, I feel bad for you...well, not really, but get a clue. I just started putting asterisks in it for the hell of it. You can't even make sense of it if you tried. It always brings a smile to my face when people bring that post up as some kind of dig on me, because we all know it's the best post in history of the forums.
