Ensign Devro: Admiral! We have a priority transmission from Starfleet HQ, Fleet Admiral Quin.Encrypted by Starfleet Intelligence code A4DFF10.
Fleet Admiral Jena: Put it onscreen Ensign. Intelligence Decryption Protocal: Delta Delta Nine.
Ensign Devro: Aye ma'am!
Fleet Admiral Quinn:
Fleet Admiral Jena. Congratulations on successfully completing the Pendragon's shakedown cruise. We have a situation that only you can currently resolve. A significant Klingon taskforce has attacked and heavily damage Starbase 24. Casualties numbers are unknown at this time. The Klingons are now laying an ambush for any Starfleet vessels coming to the Starbase's aid.
Admiral, the rest rest of the fleet is tied up by multiple engagements with the Borg across the Alpha and Beta quadrants. You have permission to form a 20 ship fleet and engage the Klingons. Do whatever you have to protect Starbase 24 and rescue our personel and civilians. I'm rerouting a few ships from the Sol System to assist you. Included in this message is a data package containing all the Intel we have on the Klingon taskforce, curtesy of Starfleet Intelligence.
God speed Admiral, give them hell. Quin out.Fleet Admiral Jena: Ensign, are there any Starfleet vessels in range?
Ensign Devro: Admiral, I have 5 ships currently locked in a battle with a Borg Unimatrix 5 light years galatic south from Risa. No other ships in sensor range.
Commander Number One: Admiral...
Fleet Admiral Jena: It's all right Number One. The Pendragon is the Vanguard ship of Starfleet. The Klingons won't know what hit them.
Fleet Admiral Jena: Ensign, forward the Intelligence package to the CIC for anylisis.
Ensign Devro: Aya ma'am!
Fleet Admiral Jena: Engineering prepare the ship for combat.
Engineering: Admiral, the Antiproton weaponary are hot and ready. All ship systems at 100% efficiency!
Fleet Admiral Jen
a: Flight Deck, prepare all the Yellowstone Runabouts for immediate sortee. All pilots take agressive formation.
Flight Deck: Aye Admiral! All runabouts ready for combat!
Fleet Admiral Jena: Helm; how long to Starbase 24 under maximum warp?
Helsman: 5 Minutes Admiral.
Fleet Admiral Jena: All hands! Prepare the ship for combat. A Klingon taskforce has attack and captured Starbase 24 and is now waiting in ambush for any Starfleet vessel coming to the rescue. We're going to be taking back the Starbase and teaching the Klingons a lesson they'll hardly forget. It's going to be our sole ship versus an Armada... the odds are stacked in our favour! I know you will all do me proud.
Commander Number One: Red Alert!
Fleet Admiral Jena: Helm, plot course for Starbase 24, maximum warp. Engage!
Helsman: Aya ma'am!
Fleet Admiral Jena: I'm not waiting for reinforcements. A Klingon ambush? How cute.

I can approximate it by going into the Sirius or Regulus Sector Blocks and entering one of those Red Marbles with all of the Klingon ships in it. I never break a sweat with my STMP Refits (Enterprise-A types) but I'm pretty sure it's the purples I got from Dust to Dust that made THAT possible. Shields are never damaged for longer than a few seconds. Hull repairs itself nearly as quickly.
In any other Sectors Red Marble (Cardies, Tholians, etc) it's still a real fight and I usually 'splode allot.
Do you have a link for how your ship is decked out? I'm a long way from endgame, but I'm still curious what that ship really looks like. I notice she never shoots while forward facing her enemies. I'm guessing she's got 360 weapons/phasers. Found this on an STO Search on Google.
Ultra Rare 360 Phaser.
:: whistles softly ::
Sure wish I could make a few of those.
I'd prefer to know why the OP bothers making these videos at all seeing as most of the time all they get is snarky comments from players who prefer alternate playstyles.
I'll admit I'm a teeny bit disappointed in the performance, I was expecting you to be near the Starbase when the 2nd phase begins so you can tank like a champ as you get swamped by KDF fire from all directions
It isn't a hard queue. It's solo-able. I wonder if you're implying that it needs a nerf or something? I don't think it does. The reward is pretty pathetic in all regards, and is equal to the effort required (read: not much).
I get your other vids when you're trying to show something or explain something, but this one eludes me. I'm not trying to be rude or dismissive, but what's the big deal?
Well... the first officer actually commands from the bridge during combat, the admiral heads down to the CIC. you just can't see it in the video
A not so subtle "pay 2 win" jab? Frankly it's non of your business but i will throw you a bone.
98% of my character's "wealth" in-game comes from grinding. I occasionally (every couple of months) spend a little by buying a ship or a small pack of keys to support the game.
If you really want to know what the "cost" is; i have spend 7144 hours in STO.
On average for every snarky comment i get, i also get around 5 positive comments.
You should probably ask those who enable me why they are doing so. I continue to make videos because there is a market for them.
...Also "moving goal post"? really? I'll tell you what, if you make a video showing how you can tank the center of Phase 2 AND complete the queue solo (without dying) in under 20 minutes (including killing the named ship and it's escort spawn at the end) then i'll make another video doing the same and credit you with showing me how it's done.
It's subtle. :P
If I could queue up my Sheshar for SB24 (or my Scimitank, for that matter), I'd happily show you. Just so happens, there's nothing nearly this fun for KDF's. Except free leeches. :P
Nice job, though. Only thing that surprised me is that you didn't seem incredibly familiar with the first 50 ship's locations.

Build questions? Look here!
The build can be found in the description of this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ys5sLov77Aw though what i'm running in this SB24 is slightly different.
There are always a few "complaints" that pop up:
1. Pay2Win: Self explanatory, get accused of being a whale.
2. Moving Goal Post: Doing X is not impressive, i'll be impressed if you do Y.
3. PvP at me bro: "my PvP ship can kick your PvE ship's TRIBBLE in PvP"
4. "Having fun" fallacy: "I find DPS boring, i play for fun..." guess what, I play for fun too. The difference is that my fun is more efficient and spectacular.
I like this map because it is fun to solo. It's easy if you are a knowledgeable player; it's definitly more of a skill test than a gear check.
I KNOW you can do it I have done it too; i didn't in this video because I wanted to show the easier pathing for most players, which is to be on the outer edges when phase 2 starts.
Also i don't play this as often as you, i don't have it memorized.
*raises hand*
I *cough* was kinda joking earlier as well, perhaps I should have used a ';)' instead? Everything always seems to be so serious around here.
Well, i guess there is an exception to every rule.
But, I will say that over time, your threads/posts have been far more constructive, as to prevent deserved rude comments from people so, good PR work IMO as of lately.
Keep it up!
Praetor of the -RTS- Romulan Tal Shiar fleet!
lol, nothing? if he choose so.
i know i did... if you wont it NOW, well then...
Me either, thought never crossed my mind.
Sarcasm - more power to you.
People complaining about pay2win. Ummm... Cryptic isn't a charity, they aren't running this game out of their love of being rage spammed. If someone wants to pay for some geegaw that will let them blast pixels 10% faster, awesome. It keeps the hamsters fed.
It costs time - in the context of playing smart. Brainpower is required to play smart.
People who seem to have everything... probably do have everything, because they know how to earn anything. You know what I find amusing? Humans who think RL money is the most important currency one requires for success in f2p games. The truth is, time is the most important currency any player will ever put into a f2p game.
Sarcasm has played for 5 years. 1 lockbox in the context of playing regularly over 5 years - no matter what reward you one get - is a drop in a bucket to a player who has played regularly for 5 years. Let's be honest, you don't seem to understand the context of your question, because you are focused on the wrong currency to ever understand how a player like Sarcasm is successful.
Rules of Acquisition at Priority One
I have looked over his builds when he posts them, looked at skills, bridge officer powers, what consoles he uses etc. I have experimented with different sets and skills based on some of the things that Sarcasm has posted, and they have been helpful.
You can take his videos as 'bragging' or you can take them as informative examples provided by someone that has a strong understanding of the mechanics of the game. I have opted for the latter and used that information to improve myself. Am I doing 100k DPS? No, but I have used some of the techniques to tweak my own preferences and have gained at least 10k DPS from those examples, I'm currently up in the mid to high 20k range.
How much money he spent is irrelevant, the lessons are free. You might not have the resources to match his build exactly, but there are ideas there that can improve your current build.
Not everyone has snarky comments for you Sarcasm, I thought it was a cool video and I'm going to try and do something similar pretty soon.
Free Tibet!
Day 27....
Still stuck on starfleet academy.....
(sorry had to)
Learning is a good thing, but truth be told i am rather sceptical about the intent of the video. My gut tells me this was more a show of ego than meant as a learning experience
This is the bottom line really. SB24 is easy either in a full team or solo.
Pulling a solo on something like Klingon Scout Force is more challenging due to the last two groups of opponents. I've been there and done that, but a video for KSF could be interesting simply for comparison between my own tactics and those used by the OP.
Guarantee you Sarcasm got more Positive veiwers then he even knows from these, they just don't bother to let him know.
Go post a build and see how many replies you get. lol
Everytime I post a build maybe I get 1-2 replies. But, in game I get several Messages about it.
Sarcasm is one of those that have nothing to prove to anyone. So people want to knock him down. Keep it up man. Your one of those that made me strive to get more and more outta the game. Nice video.
To those that think the Video was braggin that "I can solo SB24!" Yeah, You'll never learn anything.
My gut tells me that you're a troll with serious inferiority complex which gets projected onto others on the internet. See how that works?
You said earlier in the thread that anyone can solo SB24 in under 15-20 minutes on Elite difficulty, i call big time BS. Prove that you can do it or don't mention it at all.
There are people who don't even know it's even possible to solo SB24. Your "bottom line" argument is irrelevant.
As for Klingon Scout Force, it is on my list for a solo video however there is an issue with it; as you should know if you have soloed it before.
When soloing KSF the spawns are greatly reduced, especially at the first phase, it involves killing ships one at a time because that is how they spawn.
Im not knocking Sarcasm or giving him coded slights. As President of the Casual Players Club Im just genuinely interested in the cost to dominate the game like he does, with all the pay points Cryptic has put up. If someone wants to spend it, more power to them. I could if I wanted to as well, but I choose not to. Im just here for the story. This is still my first and only MMO. Thats how casual I am. Sarcasm, you say 7000 hours, where do you get that figure, is it listed on our account pages? Or did you make it up. Because if true, thats nearly 1 full year of playing STO non stop when added up past 5 years. If you havnt got a demanding life or job, I guess thats feasible. Im not THAT committed to showing off in this game.
I do have a question to others. Does it seem like Cryptic keeps jacking up the costs on the rest of us, when they see the Q like power Sarcasm has apparently mostly from selling dilithium. They keep jacking up prices to get the Qs to pay for their power, but the Qs dont pay, they just power play. They assume the rest of us want his omnipotence, and lift prices for regular folk to be even with Q, but us regular folk are put off even more and thousands of us just stop playing or slowing WAY down because of Cryptics anti-Q policies, instead of paying out the TRIBBLE for Q membership.
Really Im starting to think the Qs hurt the game, because Cryptic doesnt like players THAT powerful and not paying them for it. Its their fault for going F2P, and now they hurt their primary playerbase with overly aggressive pricing and grind to counter 1 forum bragging Q player.
Let it go Cryptic. You cant touch the Qs, players THAT committed to playing massive hours a month. You want the casual player to TRY to get that powerful, lower the price bars so we think its easier to get there and more of us casually spend. Whale hunting is a doomed strategy. Make us ALL feel power for reasonable costs, and we'll open up our wallets again.

I would say "Grab a magnifying glass, look down and measure just how small it is". If you feel the need to resort personal attacks than everyone here knows who is the one with the inferiority complex. Grow up, grow a pair etc.
Does questioning your intentions for creating a video make me a troll? I'd say all hail to me "super troll". Truth be told is that you need a reality check if you believe i was trolling.
Call BS all you like, but especially with a well build science vessel SB24 can be done in less than 15 minutes.
Having said all that, i am still curious for any upcoming solo klingon scout force ( which gets better if you start a private queue without password protection) to view differences in your tactics and mine.
I use Steam which shows the number of hours you have in a game.
Also if you type "/played" in chat in game you'll get a message like this:
Jena has been on active duty for 218 days, 8 hours, 24 minutes, 54 seconds.
So that comes up to 5240.45 hours played on this toon, which is my main.
As for the cost of my build(s). I really cannot give you an answer in terms of EC, Dil, marks, etc... there is so much involved, so much grinding, testing new gear, time invested... add on top of that the cost of the upgrade system.
I'd say, though, if a new player wants to get close to where i am, they'd probably have to spend 6 months to a year in game.
A whale who, for example, could just pay to avoid all the time gates; would probably have to spend thousands of $$$ to get it instantly.
Trust me, the devs do not care what i or anyone else like me can pull off. The amount of players that can perform like i can is so small it doesn't even show a ping on the dev's metrics.
The devs care about is finely controlling the pace at which players play the game. Hence the obsessive micromanaging of game pacing and multi-nerfing of anything and everything that can give an average player a slight advantage.
It's all about the longer stick and smaller carrot.
The devs say if they didn't do this and let players play at their own pace, then the players would start complaining about not having any content. This is a logical fallacy, a Strawman. No one has complained about lack of content in years; what they do complain about is either the content is too easy/too hard, or too much content and not enough bug fixes.
