Proposal: Devs, please add a memorial to Spock in the Vulcan map.

I was very sad to hear of Leonard Nimoy's passing--but also touched to hear about the tributes taking place in game on the Vulcan map.

As such...I have a proposal for the art team to consider.

As I understand the Path to 2409, Spock is MIA/presumed deceased in the STO-verse. IMO it would be appropriate both from the (more important) real-life perspective and even in-game to place a tribute to Spock (with a mention of Nimoy of course!) into the Vulcan map.

Time travel and glass-cannon ships hurt my head and is NOT what Trek is about. Trek is exploration, becoming better as a species, and gaining scientific knowledge while holding on to the traditions that got us where were are.

I agree, Leonard Nimoy contributed greatly to the Star Trek universe and by extent, the game.

I was thinking that it would be amazing if the devs could also create a group memorial on the Academy grounds for every major Star Trek actor that has entered the Undiscovered Country, dedicated by the class of 2409

I saw that proposal after I posted this, for others to be honored too. The trouble would be coming up with an appropriate cross-faction location (except for Spock where at least New Romulus would be a possibility).

The location is obvious; replacing the art asset in the center of the fountain.

Well, the location would be 1 museum on each of the home worlds, Earth, Kronos, and New Romulus. Each copy would be the same. That way you don't have people woodstocking to one location and cloging servers.

Steve Ricossa have already stated that the Devs are working on something to honor Leonard Nimoy and it will be released with the patch this coming Thursday.

As for a museum to honor all Star Trek characters/actors, there is one location that have been pretty important to Star Trek that no one have mentioned.

    Khitomer

We know in ST6, Khotomer was a neutral site. In STO, Khitomer belongs to the Klingons. There is nothing saying though that they could open up a new map available to all players. We could have Spock, Scott, McCoy, Kor, Koloth, and Tomalak. We could argue other characters that have died but, IMHO, I think it would be more meaningful if the character is not added until after the actor has passed.

+1 support on this. Since the Romulan Republic had their debutante conference at Khitomer, it should be easy for that to become another social zone for all factions.

also, I think MUDD should be remembered, he came up in about 3 or 4 episodes. the reoccurring villians are always the best.

but 38 Star Trek Actors have died, and now the 38th is remembered, and the 1-37th are forgotten? isn't that a little cold hearted?
