Gotta hand it to you guys, I really love the new challenges that have been a constant part of the game for god knows how many weeks now.
It really helps to break up the monotonous grind of dilithium to upgrade everything of late....
I look forward now to logging into the game when I return from work. Finally something to look forward to after a long hard day at work !
When the game freezes, will I still be alive when it resumes ? Will the connection drop entirely ? Will I get booted from the match and have to log back in ! Wow ! The excitement !
To really notch things up a bit further...... If I do get booted with loss of connection. Will my rewards be waiting for mew should I manage to return to the match ? The tension on that one is unbareable !
If that was not enough, another level of excitement and further added challenge can be reached with that other great addition......
The laggy tray !
Yep, this one is great ! Even though it was fixed ? Picture the scene.... Taking heavy fire, shields and hull going down rapidly, the end is nigh.... Doom for everyone ! The new challenge ? How many times can you click your heal abilities before they pop ? Once ? Twice ? Several times ? Can you get the heals to pop before your crew is dead ?
These new additions are just the icing on the cake ! DR is the best expansion ever ! And the players love it ! And with all these new challenges and additions..... They will only grow top love it more !
Keep up the great work ! I will buy some Zen soon.....

Sorry but this was so hilarious and true...my team experienced it while doing Bug hunt elite. Heals dont work unless server does
Best Expansion EVER and players WILL love it!!!
... who needs to play the game for entertainment, the blogs and resulting forum storms are far more entertaining and free! Free 2 Laugh!
Agreed that adds a whole new dimension to the game.... And realism. After all, we seem to have made it from kadet to fleet admiral in a year, do really believe our crews take us serious and actually follow our orders?
So that laggy tray is actually our crew beeing lazy, and the disconnects are the mutinies regulary ocuring.... A always wanted more immersion. Best expansion ever.
In all seriousness, the OP is spot on. There can be a bizarre UI delay at times.
Now let's all sit back and wait for people to arrive in this thread and say that the UI delay bug is, in fact, the fault of the players.
Wait... ? ... I thought Everything was our fault already??

We need to kept posting to highlight this issue. Ground play is terrible, getting my TRIBBLE kicked in Voth Battlezone constantly due to the NPC hitting me and i'm unable to return fire without 1-4 button clicks and delay or pop a heal due to 1-4 button clicks and delay. Costing me a fortume in hypos as when they pop its to late i've died
Delta Grinding, need more money (making a profit isnt enough it always must be more and more and more) is all the players fault.. were still paying them I guess.. Never knew people hate you for feeding them...

Saphire.. Science ground......Ko'el Romulan space Tac

A large number on this forum take it upon themselves to attack anybody and shift blame if they think Cryptic studios is under attack or has had its reputation damaged by harmful comments. They have repeatedly blamed the massive lag issues lately on the players' individual ISPs ignoring how actual networking actually takes place. "Well ONE person didn't have lag, therefore it wasn't the server, or EVERYBODY would be lagging. it's your ISP and you're a cryptic hater for suggesting otherwise" -- and similar delusional nonsense. It's been rampant lately.
Ground, space, even inventory sometimes. The lag on clicks is odd, to say the least.
I love the space lag more. It makes me blow up. I like blowing up so that I can get frustrated and then watch mindless reality TV or read about cyrus or bieber or swift. Yeah, that calls for an /sarcasm.

Yep. It's that whole "I have a sandwich so you can't be hungry" kinda thing.

I'm usually one of the ones saying that (while trying to get people to post tracerts to find the problem, since even if it's not in their system there are actions Cryptic can take through Cogent based on that information to fix it). However, what's been going on the last 2-3 weeks is different. It's not the game lagging, it's not in the pings or tracerts, and it's not affecting movement control or unsycing the positions of other players or NPCs - it's only in the UI, and only in certain elements of the UI at that, which isn't indicative of any kind of network problem.
It's also been acknowledged as a bug seeing as Cryptic has pushed at least two tribble patches claiming to fix it, so there's that.
I too would like to chime in on this thread and thank the devs on their positive attitude to online gaming and the excessive hours some people play, the built in self disconnect timer which stops you playing too long in one stretch is amazing.
Also the frustration family promote interface, (F.F.P.I), is a stroke of genius, realising that we need to spend more time with our loved ones this amazing piece of code that forces the user into turning off the game in rage is great, and it's always a surprise as to when this kicks in. I feel this has been a great bit of silent code dropped in on many new features since DR.
Anyway keep up the great work devs and DR is the most bug free fun piece of doing I have ever seen.

Hey OP you forgot the new game show 'Exchange" did I buy it in time? It features the disappearing doff and the follow up "Where did my doff mission go?" and next season the will offer "You used to have that but not anymore...." followed up by the prime time show "Grind This"
I do a minimum of 5 clicks for each ability............sad
Oh and dont even try an hover over an ability coming off cooldown you have to hide your pointer to the side of it and sneak in their when it comes off cooldown.

And if you also report certain severe bugs that affect you and a few other fleet members, they will swiftly compile comprehensive longitudinal statistical analyses, cross referenced to journal databases of existing studies, and present an executive summary of something like "In 99% of my gaming time I have never been affected by such bugs and therefore it must be something you're doing wrong" followed by philosophical implications such as "correlation does not imply causation" and everything is suddenly fine and rosy.
This is the part where I get to say: Now You All Know How it Feels and What I've Been Trying To Say All Along. Welcome to my gaming experience as it has been for months and months before to me it was fixed! Goes to show individual reports aren't exaggerations, or isolated incidents. What goes around comes around, and those jumping to blaming the victim that to them is guilty before proven innocent will get to walk in their shoes and hope they don't receive the same neglect they themselves have been freely dispensing. So OP, believe me when I say I Know What You Mean, and truly hope it gets resolved for everyone.
I got one for you. Super awesome new challenge. Fly into Fleet Shuttle Alert and have your Boffs unseat themselves( I guess they wanted none of this fight). Then the fun of whack-a-power, hoping something in your UI will activate within the next 3 seconds. Lastly, get Discoed on the Boss group at the end with the Gameclient.exe error and CTD. Get back in, fleet action over, no marks and a 30 minute cooldown. Boffs gone, UI grayed, and CTD. I got the Trifecta on that one!

Great thread, also you can always try a manual reset on your IP, if your ISP is at fault. (if this is the case)
