For some reason whenever I hit B to go into shooter mode, I see for a brief second the crosshair on my screen then it turns off straight away with out me touching anything?

Anyone else having this problem, I've tried rebinding the key, no luck, I've tried holding it down as well no luck?

As k20vtec said, you probably need to close your inventory. Also, there is currently a bug with shooter mode.

I find shooter mode to be a terrible substitutes for acutal first-person shooting. That said, a bit of explanation: When you are in shooter mode your mouse is locked/hidden (because that's the aiming point), but if you bring up any kind of UI interface that needs clicking like inventory, doffs, etc, it will freeze shooter mode and revert to RPG mode, while still in shooter mode. This is to free up the mouse because you have the interactive window up. Once that window is closed the mouse goes away again and you are back in shooter mode.
