So, has anyone else kinda noticed that the new
Starfleet Command Battlecruisers seriously resemble the NPC
Typhoon class heavily mixed with the old "Design the Next Enterprise"
entry by Fuzzy Modem?
Not that I'm complaining, mind you. I am a fan of both of those designs and dig the new cruisers, too.
But man, yeah, they kinda have the more prominent design elements of those two ships. Mostly, they seem more Typhoon heavy with generous smatterings of the "Fuzzyprise".

It could be that Cryptic was heavily inspired by the Fuzzyprise since there is already the Chimera and Odyssey designs from the Design the Next Enterprise currently in the game.
Why would they? The creator of the Chimera never got anything from their designs except recognition not sure if the Odyssey creator got any reward for winning.
Submitted their designs for the Design the Next Enterprise Contest also relinquished any rights they might have had to the design to Cryptic.
Best the designed can hope for is acknowledgement when the dev blog about the design process comes out.

When the Chimera came out, the devs at the time fully acknowledged that it was a ship taken from the contest pool and properly credited the original creator.
The new Battlecruisers, though, are not direct designs one way or another, as far as I know. I'm personally just speculating that they're even related to the fan favorite "Fuzzyprise" as they share similar elements in their looks, especially in the profiles. As such, no one on the dev team really needs to explicitly say one way or another if they were using elements from a contest ship or not.
Those are actually fully fledged nacelles, not "half nacelles". In the tailors for the ships, there's even categories for the pylons between the nacelles themselves, in addition to the pylons that support the double-nacelle configuration, much like how the Typhoon class nacelles also have a pylon-like platform that supports them atop the main connector pylons.
And they do indeed look awfully similar to the Typhoons. Large prominent saucers, tapering engineering sections, and the rather conspicuous nacelle arrangement, in addition to both being battle-style cruiser ships.
Like, I feel like the dev behind the designs wanted to sneakily create either a new look for the Typhoon class or engineer a suitable playable replacement of it. The Geneva class especially is possibly the most similar looking to the Typhoon, with the Presidio being the one that most resembles the "Fuzzyprise".
Honestly, if you're not looking at a side-by-side of these ships and can't see how they look even vaguely like the Typhoon class, I don't know what to tell you. The similarities are there.

I don't recall the namer of the Destiny class getting anything other than a shout out either.
Nope, hadn't noticed.
these ships are lookable and fit to universe.
Eh, even if something's based off a fan design, there's still concept work to be done polishing it. And then plenty of work in doing the actual modelling, skinning, animations (if needed), etc.
It's not like they take a concept pic, plug it into the game, and it's done. /shrug
That is because I believe at the time, John Eaves was just paid to design the ships. Still, doing a quick Google Image search for "STO Destiny class" or "STO Deep Space Science Vessel" brings up his concept art for the ship.
Oh, haha, sorry, dude! Didn't see that you'd posted a thread about this already.
No worries... great minds and all that.

Like I said, they have a lot of strikingly similar qualities.
Those were both requested playable ships. Cryptic indicated an interest in doing a new Typhoon-like ship rather than handing players a Typhoon and Cryptic has also been using the top Enterprise design concepts for awhile. On this one, I think they split the difference and gave it a 2410-style makeover.
