"Commissioned Bridge Officers can no longer be traded or placed onto the Exchange."
Will we have an option to get more than one Tier 4 Diplomacy officer in the future? Some of the players like to make Fed KDF toons and have a crew to go with it. Same goes for Orions as well. It is called roll playing the game. It adds a feature that makes the game feel more like star trek. Please consider this in the near future. The change you made here just affected real star trek fans in a bad way. You also took away any real reason to level duty officer Commendation.
Reading is important... I very clearly pointed out "commissioned" officers.
If you look on the exchange you will find there are no Fed Nausicaan's. Most of the ones in game have been bound to account now. The value of these officers is around the price of a Jem'hadar Bug ship. There are veteran bridge officers, jem'hadar, android.. etc that have become bound. My post points out they removed the feature to "trade these officers" Making it difficult or impossible in some cases to enjoy a specific play style.
ddont know about fed side but over on kdf side its bugged . even lobi boffs that you used to be able to sell cant be sold on exchange anymore saying they are bound even though they are not unpacked from box yet. like the xindi tac boff
Trophies for killing FEDS ahh those were the days.

That is good to know. The question is.. did they intend for all bridge officers to be bind on pick up or is it a bug with just a select few.
I wondered why the ability to 'trade' commissioned officers was removed. The old reason to 'trade' them was for training, but that's no longer the case. However, I used to give away good boffs if I needed the space, and that's when it struck me:
This move is to stop players from being able to circumvent the Specialization Grind by disallowing any way of gaining Tier 3 Intel Skills other than grinding for 22 spec points.
Of course, the really stupid thing is that the new system means there is no benefit in buying a ton of boffs and by extension, no need to buy more boff slots.

Don't forget the specialization grind allows you to create training manuals now.
I've been giving out Surgical Strikes 3 and Override Subsystems 3 to fleet mates without any trouble at all.
In fact prior to this update it was imposible to do so as even the white intelligence duty officers could not be traded.

But you can just buy those of the exchange or ask someone in a public service channel to craft the manuals for you, for their base cost.
I just assume that there's an ulterior motive any time there's some sort of seemingly unnecessary change to a mechanic.
Though it does raise the question: why remove the ability to trade boffs then? It really seems to have been a pointless inconvenience then, as any great boff with good skills has to be deleted rather than given to a new player who could use it.
Maybe they wanted the bound boffs to actually mean something? You can still trade boffs in your candidate roster or turn them into a manual, if they have a good ability, so pretty much nothing changes.
The only thing that is affected is the trade of special boffs. Like the diplomacy t5 boff (you get one non faction boff if you reach t5 in the diplomacy/marauding duty officer commendation category, which could still wear their faction specific armor (half-naked orion away team fed side ...)), or the original veteran boff (romulan captains get a slightly less good version through their story content).

There was a point where I had too many ground boffs (all ground traits) and needed to move some out to make room for some with space traits. These were everyday boffs that are nonetheless sought-after such as Vulcan Science Male (everyone wants their own Spock apparently). I had them fully specced in high-end skills of both boff-training and captain-training. I was able to give them away to newish players who didn't have any purples.
Now, such things can't really happen anymore. Great boffs just get deleted. Oh well.

"Players can still sell, trade, and mail uncommissioned Bridge Officers unless they are bound."
Those diplo boffs aren't bound. The come uncommissioned. Looks like you'll still see them on the exchange, etc.

That's just silly rather than cynical
