Ooh, but for Janeway's shuttle...stealth, transphasic torpedoes, Chrono-deflector, armour. That would be a tasty ride.

This got me thinking about the various temporal equipment we have seen onscreen and how we could have a proper set around the theme.

Chrono-Deflector: Which should be a Tachyon Deflector Array. It should probably have a MAJOR boost to Starship Flow Capacitors since, in canon, the point of this was to create a super-powerful tachyon pulse that could create a rift in space and time. A minor boost to Aux power. Also boosts graviton and particle generators. (Probably allows the creation of Temporal Rifts via set bonus.)

Temporal Shields: These should have penetration resistance and interial dampeners which grants resistance to Chroniton-style effects since the T-shield was used to resist shield-penetrating chronitons. Additionally, these should have a chance on receiving damage to generate a Temporal Disruption effect which reflects the exotic damage of an attacker back at them. (I would also propose that equipping these blocks all incoming damage received from Manheim device copies. Temporal shields prevent the Manheim device from being a suicide console.)

Temporal Displacement Drive (Engines): Similar stat bonuses to the others. High engine turnrate. Maybe upgrades Temporal Backstep to Temporal Causality Loop. It becomes ramming speed but, on impact, the backstep effect automatically triggers.

Temporal Core: Bonus to Flow Capacitors. Temporal Capacitor (10% cooldown reduction). Boosts Subsystem Repair. Provides 2.5% boost of each subsystem power level to itself. Reduces Transwarp cooldowns by 50%.

Set Bonus:

Set 2: Timely Attacks
Decreases the recharge rate of all Antiproton and Chroniton weapons by 10%.

Functional Timeship
Reduces the cost of transwarp to mission replay by 100%.

Set 3: Temporal Inversion
Upon receiving damage, your enemies have a 1% chance to be targeted with a temporal inversion. For 5 seconds, their weapons fire will reverse its flow in time and heal your hull and shields at a rate proportional to the damage of their attacks. (Their firing animation and attacks play backwards and heal you.)

Set 4: Temporal Rift
Transports your ship through a temporal rift back to its last spawn location as though recovering from a ship destruction. Your ship will suffer no injuries. Also creates a spatial anomaly at your former location that draws enemies to its center. Enemy ships drawn to the center of the anomaly will be placed in stasis for 10 seconds before re-emerging from the rift.

    I really like this suggestion.

    At least the broad strokes.

I'm sure details are debatable, but one stood out.

Immunity to the ill effects of the Mannheim device.

Give us a space set that grants that, and I'll be opening boxes to replenish my lobi so fast.....

Because the side effect of the Mannheim is the only reason I've not bought a Mobius yet.

The details absolutely could be debated but I'm rather partial to my idea of Temporal Shields being what blocks the incoming damage from your past and future selves.

I think the whole Temporal part of STO has been pushed to the wayside. We had the Wells and Mobius and the Temporal Ambassador episode...but the rest has been skirted over.

I always wanted a Temporal Carrier that could launch Aeon Timeships...not with the abilities, but just for the fun factor.

Also, I would have brought the Kremin in and given a need for all ships to have Temporal Cores...the timeships having superior integrated ones.

The 29th Century is being underused!

I would just like to let Cryptic know that if they would make, and I could buy and equip 8 of, a Chroniton single beam array, I would give them my left kidney and maybe my firstborn child.

Brilliant, love the idea fully........ 10 out of 10 ...

My thoughts on a Temporal Ship set would be something along these lines:

Temporal Engines - as OP, but the special effect would be a 10% recharge reduction in engineering abilities

Temporal Shields - I like the OP's ideas here, depending on type of warp core equipped the effect would be either keeping the Mannheim copies from killing you, or grant a 50% reduction to temporal backstep

    Chrono-Deflector: pretty much OP's idea.
Secondary deflector: structural integrity boost, special ability would be a 10% reduction in science abilities (as a deflector set? dunno if that is practical given the back end architecture)

Temporal Warp Core Type M - I like the OP's idea...but given a wish item I'd like to be able to craft a complete warp core and tie in the Mannheim device (craft the Mannheim device into the warp core - lose the device, but the ability merges into the warp core, so you'd gain a console slot)

Temporal Warp Core Type T - as Type M, but 25% reduction in temporal backstep recharge

Equipping a Temporal Warp Core of either type + the other console would work as normal for the Temporal Set

    Set bonuses

    2 pc:
Chroniton relays - energy weapons gain 2.5% chance to slow enemies.
If you have Chroniton Dual Beam Array, the dual beam array gains 2.5% (total 5%) chance to proc

    3 pc:
Predictive Targeting +10% accuracy to all weapons
if you have the Temporal Disruption Device equipped reduce recharge by 25%

    4 pc:
    Chroniton Generator
Fully operational Timeship (Transwarp reduction, +5% flight speed, + X driver coil
If you have Tachyokinetic Converter equipped, +50% effect (33% turn, +25 graviton gens etc)

the idea being that having the Temporal warfare set enhanced with the ship because you have all the fiddly bits back in place. having everything would give a slight reduction in cool downs and the bonii from set pieces get fairly well enhanced so, no cooldown reduction, but a decent boost in capability) as well as 'repairing' the warp core with the appropriate bit, thus gaining a bit of fitting space.

Note that the values can and should shift. I'm not trying to make the OMGWTFBBQPwnageTitanofDoom(tm)!!!!!!111!!!, and I am not a game designer. so take the ideas and insert appropriate values wherever.
    my 2 dil on this....

I only support this if the set is released alongaide an Eternity class temporal cruiser.

I think this is an awesome idea. it would finally give the feeling of a time ship instead of a temporally enhanced escort or science ship. and also I agree with the above post, there needs to be a cruser release as aell to round out the set. I would pay money for this! Great idea.

I support these ideas only as long as there's also a full set of Chroniton weapons, and the shield changes the hull to have a faint rainbow-reflective tint somewhat like the Reman shield skin or the Romulan Mirror skin.

I need to make a genuinely capable rainbow beam boat helmed by a LeVar expy called the Reading Rainbow 2.0.

Because my original Reading Rainbow boat was rendered ineffective Post-DR unless I plasma-doped out the aft and broadside SS2/3'd exclusively.
