to askray (dont know any other way to reply)

we do report them. problem is they have a spambot or really dedicated employees making account after account after account. this is why i wonder if they can just block the entire text thread the spambot uses because its always the same. sit in sirius block. you get absolutely no relief from them. sit in sirius block or kdf first city and you get no relief from them.

sorry about new thread here i dont know any other way to respond. just delete it when u c this.

    no offense but they adapt to filters and measures to stop them. Games that spent BIG money on the problem still have spam. Less of it, maybe, but they still have it and still have to constantly battle it.

    This is not a large game compared to some. I would much rather just turn of idiot chat (local/zone) and get more content, ships, and good stuff than have the dev team go on a wild goose chase of trying to stop spam...

    let me put it another way.
    go to your email. Disable any paid for or freeware or whatever spam filter. Now try to filter out all spam while not killing any legit content using only the filter systems provided. Once that works, tell me it STILL works in a month. And in a year.

    Askray has a catastrophic irrational compulsion to getting the last snarky word in, to the point of firing from the darkness and closing the possibility of response. And it is not above lying through its teeth.

    Nope. No death threads in this post either. I have a remarkable history of *not* posting or issuing death threats. In my whole life only one person claims to have heard a death threat from me: Askray. What a moron!

    I've been here since beta man, I know how the spam is :P I also have been in ESD and first city when it's really bad. The problem is they will change the text thread when they realize its banned and it will become more and more annoying with every passing change. There is no 100% sure fire way to get rid of it.

    Uh I've never threatened any ones life on this forum or game. Well except when killing people in pvp. And as for your "compulsion to getting the last snarky word in" actually I've closed many threads with no response, some with just thread closed (if i'm on a computer) and some with an actual reply because I know the direct answer.

    If I close things with a response it's because it's something I know for a solid fact. Btw - insulting me or any player, or employee of PWE/Cryptic isn't allowed so I suggest you stop.

    LOL, Askray is likely to give you a 7 day suspension for disrespecting him. His "power" has gone to his head.

    Askray, no matter which side Askray is on, has always been fair when moderating threads. A mature person would not be attacking the person if they had no substance to bring to the table. A mature person would let the matter drop.

    I don't see them much. But that's because I hit "Report Spam" on every single gold---- I see spamming. I hav eno idea how many spambots are on my ignore list now, but it's a lot.

    Askray is a volunteer and only has the power to edit posts, and merge or lock threads. He can't suspend or ban anyone.

    Agreed. Askray accused a forum member of doing something. He should be a decent human being about it and apologize. He isn't the red, rosey people make him out to be.

    Turn off zone chat, OP. I had no idea there was even a problem until I saw one next to me doing it, and the little speech balloon popped over it's head. I promptly reported them. I might have known since NWO has them ad nauseum; I don't play that enough to mess with the chat settings, but they are likely just as bad there as you say they are here.

    Turn. Them. Off.

    As for everything else, no Nab I haven't been laughing I took a nap while cleaning :P Any ways, No I will not apologize for anything as no warning was ever sent by me about death threats to anyone posting in this thread. But people won't take my word for it and I'm not posting exact warnings players receive because it's against TOS so *shrugs*. If ya believe me, yay if not then yay. Nothing I can do about it.

    Any who since this thread has become about me and a certain player thinking I owe them an apology for saying they issued a death threat, we're going to go ahead and close this thread down. And no, it's not because I don't want to defend myself but because all anyone can post is "He did this" and it's not like I can post exactly what I did.
