I've noticed that once you've maxed out the event reputation for the Kobali Samsar, you can't slot another. I was wondering if this was by design?
I can't really tell you why I'd want two, it just seems a little off since we were able to claim two in the Risa and Winter events.
You were allowed to claim two ships once each in the Risa event, and three ships once each in the winter event. There's only one ship available in the grinderversary; the previous years' ships aren't available unless you still had the project from last year slotted (which I did on one toon).

Sorry, I meant two of the Samsar. As in, during the Winter event I claimed two Brek Raiders, so I could keep a box in my bank and unpack the other, same with Warship and the T6 ship.

Seriously? Huh. Ok, never mind then.

Being able to claim multiples of other event ships would undoubtedly be an oversight, especially since it would fail if trying to open the reward crate itself, since you already had the ship in your roster...
I've done this myself, the reasoning is that I only have so many ship slots. If needed I could dismiss the event ship to free up a slot and reclaim it later using the banked box for it.
Seems silly that it would change at this event with no heads up.

Yeah, that's pretty much the same reason I do it. I've had the original Odyssey class ship in my roster for ages now, I can't bring myself to dismiss it.
I will agree that it's a bit frustrating.. I got multiple Sarr Thelns so I could unlock the mastery trait on them, while keeping another in my bank if I decide I want to use that ship on the character one day.
With it only being claimable once, it means you've pretty much got to dedicate a ship slot to if you want the mastery trait..

Is that because of attachment or because you think you can't get it again?
If the former then join the club. If the latter then you can get it from the fleet ship yard if you are in one for 200k fleet credits.

I still have it, too. Despite flying the regular/cstore odysee.... Mainly because of the diffrent looking aft section (without Aquarius) that I cant get again.
But after all that is purpose I believe. If we just could get dismissed ships back, why would we buy ship slots?
It would be nice to be able to earn the trait, dismiss that ship, and still have another boxed just in case.
I believe that you can do that. I have fleetmates who have dismissed ships they didn't want (I am talking to YOU, Experimental Science Vessel!) after getting the tier five ship trait. I plan to do the same soon.
It's just that if you open a second ship box, you have to start from tier zero to earn the ship stats again (tier one through tier four).

That is a c-store ship and you have always been able to do that with them. This is about event ships which are a different kettle of fish altogether.

I don't see the difference. Unless you can say with certainly that you've dismissed one and lost the tier five trait that you earned. I haven't read anyone (yet) making that claim.

It's about wanting the ability to get the ship again if you dismiss it not about losing a trait.

Sorry to be rude but you are arround 3 years and don't see the difference?
I'll explain:
If you buy a c store ship you can reclaim in whenever you want from c store, on any character, as often as you want. You can only equip one at a time.
Event ships you get from the event reputation. You can only do the project during the event.
And in case of that particular event you can not start the project again on the character after having it finished. So you are unable to get the ship back.
And concerning the question if or if not you can reclaim you ship, beeing not able to do so is diffrent then beeing able to do so....
ummm from my understanding... once a trait is unlocked it is yours. you can dismiss without losing the trait.
It's not about the trait it is about the abiulity to reclaim or have a boxed up second copy of the ship so you can have it again if you dismiss it. The trait is irrelevant.

.
Not quite true anymore with T5 ships after the intro of upgrading. I have two copies of my engineering scimmy on one character and didn't even realise I did until I looked more closely. Same with the KDF flight deck cruiser. I thought I had dismissed it and claimed it again then I went to the ship yard and saw two of them. Though how long that will be possible I do not know.
