Undine Nicor Bio-Warship or Vaadwaur Manasa Assault Escort ?

Need help :/ (Im a TAC , i have the Phantom escort , and currently have the bio-warship in a box)

    All I will say is 4 Science console slots and 5 tac consoles. You should be able to work out the rest.

    I have both but the Manasa is by far the best ship. Not as good as my Mah'ta but my KDF Romulan likes it enough to leave his Scimitar at the starbase now an then.

    The Manasa simply is the better escort.
    More fore wapons, better shield mod, better maneuverability, +1 boff power, some intel capabilities (OSS !) and lets be honest here sci & eng consoles on an escort are mainly there to be filled with universals so that defenitely dosen't matter if it's 4 engi & 2 sci or 2 engi & 4 sci. And it comes with a seriously powerful starship trait.

    Don't get me wrong here I'm not saying the Nicor isn't great but the Manasa just is the better escort. Sure, it loses when you try to use it as a sci ship but that's obviously not it's intended purpose.

    My post about the 4 science and 5 tac consoles referred to the Undine ship. The Undine is still my favorite. I have had outstanding success with the ship. Also, it looks bad a$$ with the 2 piece Borg set. (Assimilated Deflector and Engine.) Looks like a borg assimilated Undine ship.

    Oh one other thing. I have the Phantom as well. Despite having OSS III and Surgical Strikes III, it remains in Moth Balls. Maybe the fleet version will be better. I enjoy the Nicor better. Reciprocity is absolutely critical for your Tier 5U build though.

    the nicor is one of the top T5u ships IMHO. Probably in the top 5 for being strong -- it has a great officer layout, a good turn rate and speed, good damage potential, and the only way it could be improved much would be a 5/3 instead of 4/4 weapon system.

    That said, its a T5U ship. It is going to be weaker than the better t6 ships. I dont keep up with the fed heaps ... but if the phantom or other escorts are able to seat surgical strikes, the nicor hasn't got a chance to beat that. If the phantom is one of the LT intel ships, it might be a tossup depending on the officer seating and personal prefs. But even a LT intel offers double OSS or oss/turbulence which is still an edge over the nicor.

    Since almost all my relevant consoles are universal to begin with, who cares?! Unless you need a specific exotic-damage build, console layout between sci and eng doesn't matter.

    The Nicor is one of the top tier T5U Escorts. Minimum Commander TAC station, 8 weapon slots, Escort-level turn rate, and the stupidly high hull regen of the 8472 bioships. The bioships are hilarious with something like Full Borg Space Set where I almost never needed to heal myself because the hull regens took care of the rest. The combination of Cmdr TAC station + 8 weapon slots makes it a rare combination to be found in a ship.

    That said, it is a T5U ship.

    The T6 Vaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaadwaur Escort is a very beastly ship. It is essentially the KDF's Mat'ha Raptor with better turn rate and a better trait but lacking the Disruptor console that is a big CSV machine. Forward heavy weapons layout, above average turn rate, excellent impulse modifier (faster possible speed).

    I have the Nicor on one of my characters and I love it. But it's nothing compared to the Vaadwaur Escort.
