im sorry but extending the event weekend to the whole week or even for a month or for that matter for the rest of the year, without the bonus for marks its just a non-event for me.
When I think about everything we've been through together,
maybe it's not the destination that matters, maybe it's the journey,
and if that journey takes a little longer,
so we can do something we all believe in,
I can't think of any place I'd rather be or any people I'd rather be with.

I'd rather have something over nothing. In other words, I'll take what I can get.

ACCEPT IT!!!!! Bow down before it gets angry with your lack of loyalty!!!

that's fine if you play a lot of stuff that rewards dilithium but when the parts you enjoy the most reward only reputation marks it not of much use.
on a daily basis I very rarely earn anywhere close to the 8k dil you are allowed to refine, my main sauce of diithium on a regular basis was turning in marks over the bonus weekend.

1 daily = 65-75 marks = 1360 - 1700 dil even without the bonus, plus whatever the daily gives you, another 720 for New Romulus. 2000+ dil for 10 minutes work seems fair to me, so I'm not enraged by not being able to hoard the marks.
If you only play STFs, you get marks AND the mats, which for STFs that give salvaged tech means 400K+ EC per STF. That plus the dil from marks also seems fair.
They'll probably nerf doffing next, but for now the return on time for that is pretty high. Besides criticals you get mats and contraband for more dil.
There was no long-term server outage. There was no catastrophic bug. None of the usual reasons for an extension occurred.
Yet, we got one. All because a clerical error misrepresented what we were actually getting. It's not because of the forum fires, at least exclusively - they've been lit up worse and nothing's been said or done about it. For my money, this action is entirely on our new EP.
If you're a conspiracy theorist, then obviously this was all orchestrated - an intentional error manufactured to cause forum rage so the Great and Powerful Salami could magically extend the event and woo the crowd.
Or maybe they just f'd up and the new guy wants to make a nice gesture.
Depends on how crazy you are.
But at any rate, the extension is much appreciated.

Woo the crowd? This offer of pennies when we had made months-long plans for dollars is hardly going to woo anyone, rather it is further reinforcement that Cryptic is determined to cancel and remove the players' favored activities, and their utter failure to ameliorate any resulting frustration.
There is no problem in the galaxy that cannot be solved with sufficient application of firepower.
I appreciate the courage to tell us directly the marks are over.
However 7 x 0 = 0 as much as 4 x 0.

I think this was a fine gesture. Sure, it's a shame the rep projects were taken out, but I can understand why and am not all that surprised. It's great that we're getting both an explanation and a gesture of goodwill to compensate this time around.

However, it was nice to get an official response and the extension was certainly a nice gesture.
Thank you.
It is nice that it was extended to a full week. You can make a good chuck of pink change in that time.
