When you see "TRIBBLE" in my posts, it's because I manually typed "TRIBBLE" and censored myself.

All my hopes go with Salami Inferno in making some course corrections. He seems to be a genuine guy and has a great passion for Trek. This is the first sign of hope I've seen since DR hit.

Totally agree. I think, I hope, this is a change for the better. And welcome to our new overlord! :D

Indeed, I've already seen Salami Inferno post more on Reddit than D'Angelo ever posted anywhere. He's a much more personable guy who actually plays the game (was talking about his Sheshar on Reddit).

If there was a way to create goodwill Upper Management just found it. The feeling and atmosphere of both Reddit and the forums has massively shifted since that announcement.

Bones: "Passengers are already on the life boats Jim"

    Bones: "Shes' going down."

Kirk: "Yes I know, but don't you hear it?"

    Bones: "Hear what, James?"

    Kirk: "The song?"

Bones: 'What song? Good god man have you lost your senses?!"

Kirk: "Bones I'm not imagining this! Its a lullaby! I swear I've heard this somewhere before!"

Spock: "Curious... that your first inclination is .. to board the Titanic."

Omnipotent floaty being: "Delta is the best expansion eva! And players love it!"

    Spock: "Fascinating ..."

Kirk: "'ello! WE are from Sol... from a planet called EARTH.. We mean you not harm."

Spock: "Well, ... erh sorry Captain. But that would be a theoretical fallacy as we are armed with phasers."

Bones: "Not to mention the billions of lifeforms our secondary deflectors just scored us. FTW!"

Spock: "FTW? I am not familiar with this..."

Bones: "Of course you not. Shut your pie hole you emotional Bulimic!"

Omnipotent floaty being: "I bring mankind a message of hope.."

    Kirk: "'That's it kill him!!"

    Bones: "Dear God man why!?"

    Kirk: "It said hope.."

Spock: "Is hope not what you humans believe is a good thing?"

Kirk: "Well no. I mean we did once. But then look at what happened to hope. LoR, Grind, Repuations. DELTA RISING!!!"

Bones: "Can't argue with that logic.."

Spock: "I think I am hearing that music now...."

Mine hasn't , 'cuz as far as I'm concerned , the burden of proof is on him ... , and as much as he may be more interactive , I have re-read some of the latest interviews with him , and he can do "vague statements" and the proverbial "everything is awesome" like the best of them .

I welcome this change. Mind you, I don't know how much actual deciding power the EP really has but I like the thought of a possible change somewhere.

Unlike a lot of other people I don't hold any personal grudges against D'angelo. But I am frank and say that I didn't like where this game went. I don't know wether any of this will change with the new person around, but we'll see :)

I doubt things can be worse. But doubt is the first step on the road to realisation. What about fewer empty grinds AKA Delta Rising, no more removal of old content AKA exploration clusters, and less of a mono-faction focus? *straight face tears up* Hahaha... hahaha... hah hah hahahah! :P

I hope, this change in leadership will reflect in a shift of development direction. SDAngelo is at heart a tech guy and whenever he was in charge, development seemed to focus more on systems, system revamps and less on content.
However, I don't play this game to learn new systems every other month. I want to experience stories, new worlds, fly fun ships and find cool items. Most of all I want to play some Star Trek.
For that, i didn't need a new Doff Ui, i didn't need a new crafting system, i didn't need a Boff revamp and i most definitely didn't need Simple Ship Transition.

I would put the last EP more to blame than Geko for the state of the game.

PWE hands down profit figures that Cryptic needs to reach, Cryptic distributes the load to each game, and the EP of that game decided the direction the game takes.

While the lead designer of the game will have some say in that, the EP is a pay grade above them and gets the final say. So while Geko's mouth gets him in a lot of trouble, we don't know if he was given a pile of TRIBBLE and told to make it pretty.

True enough! But was it because D'Angelo was too incompetent to make decisions on his own and gave Geko too much say over everything or is it because Geko does have too much say over everything and needs to go? Time will tell.

We have some fantastic plans in store for the game in 2015 and the same veteran team that brought you Delta Rising is here to execute those plans.

That right there is the scariest statement in the entire announcement.

Not as scarey as you think given that includes the likes of Taco others that actuially care for the gane. However the leadership is what makes the final decisions, so no matter how much they may object to something it may still go live. The lead has changed so hopefully we will see a difference.

Also hopefully some of the newer ones will feel confident enough to speak up as well. Look at Frost whose home seems to be bug reports, for example. In the time I have been hee I don't think I remember a time when we had so many posts from Cryptic HQ conmfirming reported bugs have been able to be reproduced and confirmed, and so solutions being worked on.

If we see these ones speaking out we could see even more change and hopefully change with a reason and not just for the sake of it.

Remember last time he was in charge? I do. He took away about a third of my wealth because supposedly we had too many currencies. Now we have more currencies than before, so that was untrue. He made many changes the players hated, then made way for Dan Stahl to come back and everyone was grateful. Now they did it again; bring in Steve to make all the changes we hate, then get out of the way.

So maybe the new boss wont be the same as the old boss. But Geko is still in charge of design; and he thinks that argala rewards are a 30 minute reward. So I expect further nerfs to advancement even if they follow through on buffing rewards elsewhere.
I used to be Shakkar with thousands of posts. My very identity was stolen from me so now I am originalshakkar, the original.

Change is always good because it gives hope for better. But in my opinion he already start wrong, first post and already spins plans for season 10 instead admitting that the anniversary event is messed up and put emphasis on ensuring that players that he will use all available means to fix it.

I don't care if there will be sectors walls or if I will be flying on the rainbow cloud in next season. What I care is fact that I must go with way-around solutions to complete events daily, must deal with serious lags, rubber-banding and bug which makes game hardly playable. And the only solution they had was "Wait 2-3 days, it will resolve itself."

    true
but still i wish him luck for this certain hard job
alot is broken (including the trust into the dev team)... a course correction is overdue but for sure wont be an easy task.

    D'angelo,

Learn from mistakes and to communicate better. As leader more is expected from one. Even if you dont know the answer or if you need to spin the true...still communicate with folks.

    Good luck!

Good riddance, I just wish he'd taken that gecko lizard with him, guess we aren't that lucky. So expect very few changes with the new guy, think there is no hope for this bleeding bloated cow of a game. I hope Salami Pastrami proves me wrong in the "HOPE" department.

time will tell but my faith in this game in this company is waning .

From the launch of DR the standard amount of game play needed to progress to certain levels is on the level of gold farming not even there own CMs can produce the ability to play the game at the level needed for advanced Queues without dev magic . sure anyone can play story missions . end game is a different story . with the amount i can play the game , compared to before there is little or no progress within a reasonable time frame .
i had a fleemate tell me its easy , but i see him play at least 6 hrs a day if not more , sure spend that time its easy . play for a couple of hrs a day and its futile .

Rather than fix the issues with the game they add HP and lower timers , Waste time and resources revamping ICONS that dont need it . they still have systems that dont work correctly .This falls on SD and AL G . and poor management and priority focus . #pickyourbattles indeed AL .

there is one reason im still playing is that i enjoy my fleetmates and i enjoy the story. the game is really broken in every other aspect .
