Vaadwaur Astika Heavy Battlecruiser Review [VIDEO]

adorenkoadorenko Member Posts: 0 Arc User
For any of you wondering whether or not to get the new Vaadwaur Astika Heavy Battlecruiser, maybe this video will help you in your decision. The ship is one of the better ones from the lobi store since recently. The most important thing this ship has is a Lt Cmdr Tactical bridge officer slot. I make sure you all get a view of the bridge and take you through how I set up the ship and take it out into battle as well. The universal console is an interesting one but I'm not sure if I could justify running it.

Make sure you stick around all the way to the end of the video, as I also take a quick look at the new APU ship.

Will you be getting the new Vaadwaur Astika Heavy Battlecruiser?

This seems like a good place to share this story.

I wasn't all that interested in the new Vaadwaur ships, frankly, because it seems so much more difficult to earn EC lately, my former strategies that have earned me EC to buy nearly all the lockbox and Lobi ships aren't effective or realistic anymore.

So with my R&D I created my first Epic Antiproton Beam Array Mk XIV [CrtD]x4. I put it on the Exchange for 260 million. Didn't expect it to sell at that, but it was low-price.

I continued to keep it low-price and finally really undercut the market at 94 million, where it sold.

94 million was still only 60% of the way to the 160 million needed for the Vaadwaur Escort, so I did something I've never done of 3 years of STO. I bought 45 keys on the exchange with the proceeds of that sale and started opening Lockboxes.

On Box #5, I got the new T6 Vaadwaur Escort. On Box #20, I got another one.

When I was done, I had about 300 Lobi, over a dozen R&D boxes, a dozen Vaadwaur weapon boxes, some ground and space traits, and a handful of EXP, Reputation and Fleet Mark bonuses.

I sold one of the ships on the Exchange for 155 million. I then bought the BattleCruiser and had about 40 million left over after the original 94 million investment.

I most certainly beat the odds with two ships, but it worked out better than saving up to buy a single 160 million T6 ship. I'm typically overly conservative, but this breaking of that approach worked out.

Oh, and it was my birthday too.

    Congratulations!!

When I was starting to open Xindi boxes, I got my Aquatic on box #2. It's nice when you come out ahead.

    Epic story getsgreased.

I just won the escort in with my last key bought using the very last Zen I had. So after opening 20 boxes I was happy at the end.

I'm considering selling it and buying the Vaadwaur battlecruiser though so this video is a great help for me. Thanks for posting it.

i been playing for 2 years, about 170 boxes opened, no lockbox ships in any of them

oh i have lockbox ships, but i paid EC for all of them

I could make a point and buy about 80 keys right now and I still won't get a ship

Yeah I think I had run like that before I got my first one. I haven't opened boxes on live in about a month or 2. Although much of my time is spent preparing videos and not spent farming, playing, working the market and so on. Plus with all the current in game issues I have been having trouble bringing myself to log in some days.

It's not a proper unboxing unless you spend the first 23 minutes fondling the packaging, and the last 7 minutes demoing the product.
