I noticed since the servers went live it is near impossible to get online. I can probably skip que's due to life-time but even then Toons are loading, even if I get in somehow then most changes I get stuck on a 'server not responding' loading screen.
Sounds like the Gremlins have been at work again... Hope they fix soon since want to start the rep for the ship before time runs out plus want to be able to do within my free time.
Certainly sounds like server issue, think it's probably best to wait it out till it get's fixed asap since a lot of people are trying to get online at same time, they seem to have broken the servers. Kind of happens whenever they do anything big.
Actually it has been like this for sometime now. I always have to wait 20-30 seconds at the character select screen before the animated characters show up and allow me to progress in-game. It's probably an issue with the log-in server more than the actual game server.
"You don't want to patrol!? You don't want to escort!? You don't want to defend the Federation's Starbases!? Then why are you flying my Starships!? If you were a Klingon you'd be killed on the spot, but lucky for you.....you WERE in Starfleet. Let's see how New Zealand Penal Colony suits you." Adm A. Necheyev.

Maybe but it wasn't this bad for me before the patch/event turned up. Either way it sounds like it's got worse. I had no problems logging in but must be related to accounts in some form since the game is having problems loading anything.
Getting the same thing, can't login... Patches breaking stuff left and right is getting pretty old at this point. Here's what I've been looking at for 5+ minutes:
I also got bumped to #3 of 278 at login, but honestly that's the first time I've ever even seen that message that there was a queue to login.
Can anyone explain why the thread discussing the anniversary event was just closed?
What is wrong with actually discussing the dammed thing?
Seriously if you wanted to push people away any more than you already have over the last few months then you are going about it the right way for sure.
If you don't like people saying negative things then maybe release content that works or has been tested!
OK. LoR might have had an epic log-in queue to wait through, but I don't recall lag/rubberbanding quite like this. One step forward, 3 steps back my whole time on ESD & at SFA. Either there's a ton of people logging in to do the Anni event, or there's a hamster ready to go toes up in the server pits.

With the forums so busy atm threads will be closed if comments are getting too out of hand and going against the forum rules. If people remain civil they won;t be closed so quickly!
Seriously Cryptic, heads need to roll on today's update. Every time there is a major update or event, there are bugs that seriously affect the player's enjoyment of said event.
Today's farse is a prime example. The omega game doesn't work. At all. And its near enough the whole point of the event. Grind away destroying particles or whatever it is you have to do, and earn enough Q-mendations to redeem for a ship. And get whatever colour particles to make a bigger thing to make an even bigger thing to eventually redeem for some upgrade kit thing.
You have a test server. Use it. Listen to the feedback given. Use that feedback to make it better and more importantly, fix any bugs *before* rolling it out to Holodeck.
This slapdash approach to releasing half-finished and buggy updates straight to holodeck, all the time, will cost you players ergo income.
And burying your heads in the sand with certain devs on ego trips, saying that "the players love it" and "its the best thing ever" is only making the situation worse. Ditto rushing to close and delete forum threads to try and get rid of the negative feedback and rage.
Pissing off your playerbase isn't the smartest thing to do and again, it will cost you income in the long run.
If this was any franchise I'd have stopped playing but I like Star Trek which is why I'm having to put up the terrible lag/broken content every time they release something big.
Most of the time it felt as if i was moonwalking. Take one step forward and slide 2 steps back.
This program, though reasonably normal at times, seems to have a strong affinity to classes belonging to the Cat 2.0 program. Questerius 2.7 will break down on occasion, resulting in garbage and nonsense messages whenever it occurs. Usually a hard reboot or pulling the plug solves the problem when that happens.
Thanks for the response Smirk, even though it may not be the 'It's all fixed NAO' message we'd like to see, communication acknowledging the problem is very much appreciated.
I got to 1500 seconds of not responding and noticing my non-LTS alt account (my suliban ship holder) logged right in after waiting in queue, I decided to close STO and start over. Then I was actually able to login... Best to probably wait till the servers settle down a bit though, getting to Q on ESD was frustrating with rubberbanding. Damn captain went everywhere but where I wanted to go, even the prompt to talk to Q took about 15 seconds to appear. So yeah, hopefully later today things will be settled in a bit better.
To be honest they should just shut the servers down completely for an hour or two, let the thing cool off and get a break, and then after reinforcing it very thoroughly, bring it back online.
The only bad part is I have work in a few hours, so I will not be able to get on today. Probably at all. Oh wells.
It is said the best weapon is one that is never fired. I disagree. The best weapon is one you only have to fire... once.
By reset fix on those maps, does that mean emergency server maintenance or a hotfix with the game up and running?

The good news: my LTS kicked me to 3rd out of a queue of 200+.
The bad news: the connection timed out anyways.
I also got bumped to #3 of 278 at login, but honestly that's the first time I've ever even seen that message that there was a queue to login.
Launch Days traditionally have high log ins from many players.
The team is hard at work to stabilize and address issues and bugs reported today.
Thanks for your patience!

That's cause this Anniversary is the greatest ever and the players love it!

Delta Rising was a happy exception. Severe server lag and game-breaking bugs are more the norm during big releases, unfortunately.

No "Servers are garbage" is a more accurate description.
So much for Subscriber Perks.

You know like the advertisement description says......
Subscribers should also be immune to the lame 120 seconds between posts rule!
I would think this, even more for life-timers too but seems not. Plus other things are breaking like the Omega Molecule daily mission from Q.

I'm going to go play SWTOR, they never have server issues like this even on special events.
I'll try again later when this heap of a game has cooled down.
STO is the best advertisement for their competitors ever.
The only bad part is I have work in a few hours, so I will not be able to get on today. Probably at all. Oh wells.
