Not many here will agree with me i'm sure, but i found doing battle of korfez elite virtually impossible to do. I have Mk 14 weapons, consoles and armor too, all upgraded.
In the mission. theres just too many targets to shoot at for a 5 player team.
I think this mission needs to be made easier, or the number of players on it increased to at least 10. The timer in this too is far too short.
Yes before you say it, i know cryptic won't do anything about it, but a guy can hope that a dev will at least listen.
A separate subject.
The queues still seem dead most of the time, I do wish cryptic would add more single player missions with use of boffs on the ground ones.
Not everyone wants to team up all the time.

Actually, Battle of Korfez is a breeze. No, seriously. Of all the Elites, it's by far the easiest and most straightforward one. All you gotta do is BoB (Bale On Benthans).
There are certainly NOT "just too many targets to shoot at for a 5 player team." That part is easy.

Apparently, they've given the Benthans a bit of a HP buff to make that part possible. Forget which dev was talking about it, and since the dev tracker is apparently arcane magic it's hard to find the post. And I don't see it in today's notes so maybe it's still an internal fix.
except or the benthan thing (all runs are BoB, bail on benthans, to reform)
with the dps people (10k and some 30k) it's very easy,
I think with 10k channel people who have been there before it should be do-able
however
there may be things missing from you and your friends setups. I do use a little armor. I do have science team, engineering team, and hazard - so I can take care of myself.
and if you get surrounded by those depth-charge things you have to get out or use a defensive cooldown or heal through it or tough it out and heal after
after that, it's just spam fire-at-wil and torp spread, it's great fun

It would take a lot more than "a bit of a HP buff" to make it possible to save 15 benthan ships. The Benthan stage is like NWS, except the Vaadwuar spawn right on top of the transports.
I completed it with such team. Granted, took us 27 minutes, but it was pug with players i've never seen before. It's not really hard in premade. You only need to pray that no benthans show up.
CLR—Battle of Korfez[26:46]— Dmg(DPS)
Me 8 790 604(8 469)
Some pug 7 059 733(8 004)
other pug 3 921 516(3 404)
another pug 3 419 300(4 100)
yet another pug 1 130 490(1 574)
I'd say Korfez is quite easy, not the easiest, that goes to NTTE.
That one is just too simple/quick that it's unreal.
Be careful what you say, they will nerf it when they get a new stf to get players to play the new content. Whats your DPS? Running can be difficult at times.
Korfez is a fun mission. It can be difficult without communication and focusing on targets. Team work and Map awareness is definitely a factor in this Que.
The first time I pugged "The Battle for Korfez", someone spoke up and told us the strategy to complete the STF. We completed it with no issues. Now maybe it was a fluke for a pug, because i have done it 3 more times, speaking up about the same strategy and they have all failed. Luck of the draw maybe? Do I want to play an stf, with that fail ratio? I will probably still try a pug once in a great while, maybe. It is fun, sometimes.
I haven't even touched this instance because there are no regular or advance modes to ease on in to the thing. I like starting out on the normal modes once to get the basics and work up.

Not everyone wants to team up all the time.
I think that is because of Argala grinding and mission timers in the higher difficulty queues. Throw out the fact that they're tossing in a new command tree for the over 60 skill tab and things aren't going to really change in that regard.
Yeah, it's easy enough when the following three things are true:-
A: You have enough firepower and coordination to get through the first section
B: The Benthans don't show up.
C: Your team don't turn into idiots on the final stage but actually focus on the mission critical ship and ignore the fodder.
Get those three things right and you'll win, get any of them wrong and you WILL fail.
Tried to figure it out but it fails in like 5 minutes and I never know why.
So I just move on to something else that I know I will get a pay out.
People make a lot of these missions harder than they really are while others have zero wiggle room. Take Voth, you can blow the timer at the beginning let alone getting to the final boss. I just stopped doing it because I started having to spend most of the mission coaching and explaining mechanics and felt like a bossy micro managing a-hole.
I think there simy needs to be an advanced version for those of us who don't run a 50k dps bfaw build. The current version is very difficult to complete for players who prefer cruisers and sci ships that don't use the most OP setups. Oh, I can tank through the first section easily enough, but without at least 2 high dps ships in the mix, its impossible to finish it in the allotted time. I feel there needs to be a secondary completion method. Something like, if you're entire team survived the fight to the end, you progress through (similar to the optional in hive onslaught about not losing more than 2 ships).
I really hate the trilithim part of the battle. Most of the time, my evasive maneuvers are on cooldown, and what happens is that i can't reach the torpedoes quick enought to shoot them down.

Just avoid Benthans, and you'll be fine.

LOL. its ironic in a way. i fly a benthan ship.

Yes, we warp out. No, you won't get a penalty.

yes, the hardest part is dropping combat in time to warp out if you accidentally fired a shot
generally you keep an eye on chat and the mission window and have evasive maneuvers off cooldown
