Question 1) I think having someone who cares this much about the franchise is a GREAT thing. I think Pegg and Urban both wanted to get Trek back to the way it has always been. I think the best episodes are those that balance the action, humor and philosophy. Great episodes include Trouble with Tribbles, City on the Edge of Forever, Wrath of Khan, Voyage Home, Undiscovered Country, personally I think Insurrection hit that balance well, Statistical Probabilities, Take Me Out to the Holosuite, In the Pale Moonlight, It's Only a Paper Moon, Future Tense, Measure of a Man and Flashback.

Question 2) I think the main reason people are upset is the loss of XP from the amount of missions if they want to create new alts. Personally, I think the new episodes are a welcome breath of fresh air and brings the quality of the content up and is welcome.

Star Trek fans are going to hate Star Trek 3 regardless of who is involved. Simon Pegg, Karl Urban, Robert Orci, Brannon Braga, Zombie Gene Roddenberry.

So the report of Simon Pegg being on board is really a non-story.

I think Simon Pegg would do a great job with Star Trek 3.

Also I think that the Romulan Mystery mission revamps is a great idea and a bit overdue, I am also looking forward to the Foundry changes aswell

Question 1: In my opinion, the best "TOS-Cast" movie was The Voyage Home. What's wrong with having Star Trek being funny? If Pegg's humor gets injected into the movie, I say "Yay!" Look back at TOS, what are some of the most memorable episodes? One that leaps to mind & seems to have greatly influenced the game was "Trouble with Tribbles." Tribbles are a prominent part of the game. The episode was not, by any means, a serious one, it was full of humor, and just happened to involve a very memorable Villain (who is also referenced in-game): Harcort Fenton Mudd. As far as action goes, if TOS had the budget & technology to have bigger effects, it would have lead to some more action, but they were also limited by the fact that TV viewers 50 years ago would have been put off by the action we see in today's Sart Trek movies.

Question 2: I'm looking forward to the new missions. Now that they are coming out, I recall when the latest appearance of Sela came out and everyone was all about "What happened to her FACE?!?" I suspect that Sela in the new episodes will look more like the "New" older looking Sela who was more recently introduced.

Question 3: Unless I'm bored, I probably won't go roaming around, looking for random Foundry encounters in sector space, but if the opportunity pops up while I happen to be flying by, I will probably stop and do the mission. How many episodes of Star Trek happened while the Enterprise was on it's way to something else? Can't argue with cannon, right? ;)

On a side note: Elijah, when you were talking about the appropriateness of forum signatures, I knew exactly the poster who's sig you described. I found it odd before, but now that you brought it up, I find it disturbing to look at, and makes me wish the forums had an "Ignore User" feature like many other forums do.

Sorry, but I MUST correct this. The "Villian" in this episode was not Mudd, it was Cyrano Jones. His descendants are in STO as well. The doctor you save from the Klingons along with his tribbles in "The Tribble with Klingons." If your fleet has the optional project "Tribbles and Targs," it gives the FED Fleet Starbase a NPC named "Nemo Jones."

Mudd was in "Mudd's Women," "I, Mudd," and the TAS episode "Mudd's Passion."
