As a player since beta, I have seen the player's wants come and go as they are ignored only to release silly things like icon updates and bridge officer departments that are untrue to the star trek universe. I would like to strongly urge the development team to go back through the forums and look at what players are actually asking for instead of just coming up with things on their own.

I think the most obvious one is that you decide to release the delta quadrant when you havnt even finished (or fixed) the alpha and beta. You have made playable races without homeworlds not to mention errors in existing locations. Anyone can pull up a map of the galaxy from the ST shows and SEE that the Sol System is on the Alpha/Beta border but slightly on the alpha quad side. Why in the galaxy map since Season 1 has it been on the beta side? Was voyager returning to the beta quadrant? Did they say, "we need to defend the beta quad" on the shows? Someone needs to start doing some checks somewhere along the lines.

Betazoid playable races, with no betazed... ferengi with no ferenginar... so many VERY important places completely left out and yet we have Defera? Kobali? Dyson? When was the last time PVP received ANY sort of update despite all of the complaints from your PVP player base? Even I'm sick of reading about this in the forums so Im not sure how you've missed it. No wonder so many PVPers stop playing since we've had the same 2 space scenarios and ONE unchanged open PVP area since day 1. Would it be too hard to make ONE SECTOR that was open PVP, enter at your own risk? Most likely the "lack of PVP interest" is coming from 5 years of boredom.

Lets re-visit what Star Trek is, and maybe put some of it into the game? EXPLORATION being the main one... Id love to be able to EXPLORE planets instead of queuing up a mission in order to visit a planet. How many times do we need to "eliminate enemies 0/3" or "scan this, scan that?" Maybe a TRICORDER should actually scan and give us information about our surroundings instead of a beam of light pointing to the answer? DIPLOMATIC options or missions that dont involve plugging resources into a doff screen? And on the same note as this thread's title... FINISH WHAT YOU START! Dont put the option to promote to Captain, or choose your ship layout if you arnt going to do anything with it for the next 3 seasons.

FELLOW PLAYERS: For those of you about to point out that this is what people have been asking for forever... "welcome to the forums" etc... we are all on the same side wanting the same things... and since this is our only outlet to "not be heard" by the devs, we need to keep piping up about it regardless of whether its been said before. No need for passive aggressive statements to one another, instead, show your support by making threads like this one the longest and most discussed threads so that they cant be ignored. READ IT, SHARE IT, DISCUSS IT, SUPPORT EACHOTHER AND KEEP IT AT THE TOP!

PW DEV TEAM: I dont expect this post to change anything since people have been asking for these things for 10 seasons now... but honestly, dont you think you would GAIN instead of LOSE both money and players if you actually gave them what they want? Do you need a list of things we have been asking for in MASS with a list of signatures on it to actually understand the last 5 years of forum posts? Most of us feel that you skim past the important things and focus on the easy or most convenient updates regardless of the numbers of players asking. EASY and CONVENIENT has never made anyone successful.

I have spent enough money on this game since beta to buy one of your employees a new car... im starting to think i should have actually bought you a car and bribed you with it to see some content we want instead of something you dreamed up on your own.

    Nicely done propaganda Thread.

Lots of false information. Its not like STO is losing money based on the rate Sheshar crazy openings did a month ago.

I am sure there will be a lot buying the new upcoming lock box.

Maybe its losing traction to a few disgruntled players who is impatient and cannot get what they want. But as a whole I highly doubt STO is losing money.

Kinda like a churn rate customer in any other business. Cannot satisfy everyone needs.

Also 1 person in forum/several posters in forum doesnt equal the population of STO nor even the majority of STO players. So MASS doesnt apply to you or the forums.

Even though I provided examples in the above post, if you read it my point is they are ignoring the players... regardless of what or who is asking. You are DEFINITELY right that they arnt losing money, I never said that... they are losing players and not optimizing the money they do make by avoiding the actual things people want. Show me a thread with more than 10 people asking for the tray icons to be updated. I rest my case.

That someone should be you. The Sol system's location is fairly well cemented as being the border of the Alpha and Beta Quadrants. Just like the Prime Meridian on Earth runs through London which is both in the Eastern and Western hemispheres. And just like most of Europe is in the Eastern hemisphere, we still refer to Europe as being part of The West; so too is the Federation referred to as an Alpha Quadrant power despite most of it's core worlds being located in the Beta Quadrant.

You're pretty good at propaganda and spin doctoring yourself. Unfortunately the popularity of a single lock box isn't an indication that a game is financially stable.

I recall when City of Heroes started selling their own version of lock boxes they called Super Packs on February 14, 2012. Sales were thru the roof. Devs at Paragon Studios commented on how much money the packs made in the first quarter of their release.

Players pointed to those sales and dev comments as proof the game wasn't losing money and any complaints were the natural churn rate, and dismissed anything negative as not being able to satisfy everyone.

6 months after the release of the wildly profitable Super Packs NCSoft announced on August 31, 2012 that they were shutting down the game for good.

This game is in the same boat now. People were happy with the game progression pre-DR, and then they dropped the ball and are still trying to fix things.

Positive changes (which are taking forever and still need tweaks):
    1) Increasing marks in PvE queues - Still needs way more of a tweak based on actual average time spent to revive most queues
    2) Increasing XP gains - Frankly, all of it should be permanently what we've been earning this weekend, and then tweak up from there
    3) Slotting 3 daily R&D assignments from the same school - Seems they finally saw people didn't want to grind for 300 days.
    4) Adding guaranteed purple mat drops from Advanced PvE queues.

    Still to fix:
    1) Buggy game in general. Worst part, people report bugs in Tribble and they still crawl into Holodeck. Also, for the last 4 months, only new bugs have gotten any attention.
    2) More tweaks needed overall to make the game alt friendly once more
    3) Casual players are not seeing progression in general when it comes to gaining spec points even if they concentrate on one toon which leads to the general sense of frustration. There are just so many times I can repeat the same patrol before my eyes bleed out.
    4) A little PvP love would go a long way towards making a good chunk of the people posting in these forums happy.
    5) Items like deflectors, shields, and warp cores need some tweaking when it comes to rarity upgrades because, once you get one to mk XIV, it's pretty worthless to go for the rarity upgrade.
    6) Smirk needs to give more informed server status updates like they do over in Neverwinter.

They can say everything is well with the game all they want and state the Steam chart shows a drop because people don't log in from there, but someone that logs in daily can notice the drop in the amount of players in general.

Cryptic finishing something ? Wow, that would be a first.
We basically waited YEARS to have the conclusion to Sela's abduction. And Divide et Empera was without sequel as it was planned for years, I think this mission was part of the release. Now it's getting removed.

Let's see what is currently "unfinished" :
    1. New Romulus was supposed to "grow" as players worked the rep and various tasks. The city was supposed to be built, and at some point, we were supposed to be able to enter it.
    2. The Tholians are supposed to be there for a reason. They seems to be after the Iconians tech, but we don't know why (iconians puppets or foes ?). They are also trying to get their hands on the Romulan sword, but we have no idea why. It's an important relic for the Romulan for historical reasons, but beyond that, it's just a very old sword. This "plan" was supposed to be revealed.
    3. Section 31 is supposed to "stay in touch" with the player after you work with them.
    4. Romulan were supposed to have their own Omega armor/set and academy, and loose access to the respective allied feature.
    5. Who is the "secret informant" in the Tal Shiar ranks, during the Rom rep story missions, that knows so much about them ?
    6. During the Romulan story arc, you side momentarily with a Reman to save his colony, only to be forced to betray him to protect your cover. The Reman swear to take his revenge, only to be forgotten.
    7. In the Klingons story line, you face the Fel'khiri or whatever it's spelled. In the very end of this arc, you learn they use Hur'q tech, pointing out they might still exist, and wanted to attack the Klingon again.
    8. Originally, the revamped R&D and upgrade system was planned to allow to choose your mod, instead of being random. However, it would have extended the development time by about a year, according to devs. Since they wanted it for DR, they made it the random gamble we know.
    9. The (in)famous "a2b" build, using auxiliary to battery + technicians DOFF, was said to be "unbalanced" and in need of a nerf/balance pass. About 2 years ago. Devs said they were looking for a solution to do that properly.
    10. While Diplomacy commendation award a unique uniform for a Federation character, no uniform is granted for Romulan or for the raiders commendation, a uniform for KDF.
    11. Dialogues and tooltip that were never corrected, like the fleet in the borg sector mentioning "Mark of exploration" that were used years ago, before the dilithium, or the Diplomacy commendation that mention "voting rights" that were removed a long time ago.
    12. The exploration system was supposed to be revamped a long time ago. It was removed, and is now supposed to come back when it's revamped. Don't hold your breath.

And that's pretty much what I can think of from the top of my head. I missed probably a LOT of things.
Cryptic have a habit to start something, and never finish it.

Just like Tabula Rasa was closed right after announcing the release of their very first extension, and after saying that they were making enough money to keep the game running, even if it was not as profitable as they wanted.
Not to mention the overwhelming success of the f2p version, feedback and numbers of players, a month before they closed.

Ncsoft have a habit to close games that are not profitable enough.

Funny story... Franklin himself contacts me EVERY TIME i log in to the game... he forces the same mission on me OVER AND OVER again... "everything old is new"... yes you are telling me!

If anyone ever needs a veteran on that mission im your girl because ive tried clearing many times by completing it.

a glitch I reported back in season 8 that nobody fixed, or inquired about, or cared. Im convinced bug reports go into a spam email somewhere in the PW office.
