Yep, set aside a lot of free time and gather some very very patient friends as you chip away at the elite NPCs who are nothing more than giant Hit Point sponges :D

Disappointing. Didn't want to have to make friends or put in practice to play it, just pick up a pugmade and go.

Cryptic logic, if it doesn't work remove it, if it works but nobody uses it, remove it

my sense was that it wasn't being run much because the difficulty level might be (at the moment) too high

    like hive elite

even if I bring together some dps people, hive advanced can be an interesting challenge, I can only imagine hive elite is fairly tough

EDIT: yes, I know "difficulty" technically isn't (or shouldn't be) the same as mountains of shield and hull, ok.

i can never find people to play it because it only drops one kinda mark i beleive if you truly want to find out what players like to play let each stf have the ability to select what ever marks are in game not just one or two types. no win scenario can be a fun thing to play

Ummm...I hope it does come back as I was kinda relying on this to complete my Fek'Ihri Ships kill accolade. Taking forever as all I normally get are Romulans or Klingons!

As a Fed is there anywhere else I can bag Fek'Ihri Ships??

The real reason they are removing is because a new fleet holding is coming out and normal NWS grants far too many FMs/sec when being played by high-dps characters.

Yes try the foundry, that's how finished most of mine off.
Oh, it's not broken? We can soon fix that!

This was the part of the post regarding NWS...
    No Win Scenario

The No Win Scenario, both Starfleet and Klingon versions, has been removed from the PvE queue list. With the increase in maximum player level from 50 to 60, we no longer feel this queue is accomplishing its job of providing an intense escalating challenge where players really have to struggle to advance to the later waves. We do have plans to revisit this queue in the near future and rebuild it so it can continue to live up to its name.

And the no win scenarion will be replaced with the no win scenario argala patrol version with 50% more dilithium sinks and hitpoint sponges.

STO has officially hit the wall idk how much longer i can watch this game ive enjoyed playing for the past 3 years decay ....whats next to get axed.

Idk what else to say but that im very sad to see STO go into decline like this ....i know the white knights and fanboys will disagree even in light of the facts.

But i for one wont ignore the facts that cryptic is slowly killing STO i wish they had the balls to just pull the plug and put it out of its misery.

Although I stopped showing interest in nws a long time ago I felt the community still wanted to play it either for marks given their fleet might be struggling, extra fc if they needed it (hence the mini projects with half rewards) or amazingly there are some people who find it a challenge or even struggle to beat it. Just because there are some that can walk it or even 2 man it doesn't mean everyone else can.

We've now gone from normal > n/a/e but only elite gives the accolade/title > nothing at all.

If you've got a popular piece of content you don't go removing it! NWS was listed as unwinnable and it wasn't until Dec12 that teams started to consistently beat it. That was 2 years ago! You jump on Tau Dewa in 2 weeks! Why not let the community play what it likes. I'm not bothered but I can see a lot of people want it so let them play it. In fact why not just remove all content except DR and then you can say it's the best expansion ever and the metrics prove it because that's the only content we can play?

Instead of actually tackling the unbalanced, broken aspects of the game Cryptic has yet again decided the best way to solve it is to remove it. Plan to revisit NWS? Let's see we have DS9 FA (remember that one folks?), Gekli feeding grounds? Terradome? I bet there's more I've forgotten about besides and PVP never did get addressed, just more broken.

It's clear just from glancing at the forums I don't need to tell Cryptic what's wrong so I'm just adding my voice to it. Elite NWS was maybe the one reason I was thinking I'd upgrade someday but I guess that's not going to happen now.

With QWW ending my gameplay has now dropped to R&D on 3 characters from lv15-20 which I don't need to do as I have one character that's all lv20. I'm not doing anything that requires the reason to grind so not grinding and more and more I feel I'm treading water in this game trying to put in the minimum effort and time to maintain 1 to 4 characters, with another 4 as capable farmers.

I really can't understand why Cryptic is insisting on taking action that is ruining the game and driving away the community. It seems as though they are in their own world believing what they like when the community sees the opposite. As I've said, I lost interest in NWS so really I could say 'stop whining' or just not care but I can see the community cares, why can't Cryptic?

I don't know I heard some 'might' have but it took them a ridiculous time with the best gear or unbalanced builds it'se certainly not been consistently beaten. Maybe that was advanced before/after changes but I don't know if the changes Cryptic keeps making is making it better or worse. Not sure it matters since I'm playing less and less and I struggle to see the point of grinding for no reason and when I do it's normal or puggable ground elite queues that actually fill.

Cryptic removing NWS = no money from me.
And yes, i seriously won't spend any money on this game anymore if you remove my favourite PvE.

That would require people actually playing the game and signing up to run the queue. They aren't. Cryptic has driven away most players. Further, the top DPSers in the entire game ran NWS Elite post-DR and found it tedious to the extreme, and supremely BORING. Single ships with 5 million hitpoints, etc.

Cryptic killed it, and most of the rest of the game, quite effectively.

Very Angry at this. Yes I still played it. You don't get the accolade on normal but to play it and say you finished it means something. Not all of us in the game want elite everything or want to grind to get said gear. Also I was trying to figure out if you could run it in a full torp boat. I guess I'll never get that answer.

Well, I've never actually gotten the accolade. And have only made it to stage 8 pugging it.
Wonder what they have planned for the revised edition...

I'm not super angry, but I agree with you. I was looking forward to trying for the accolade with my fleet at some point. Maybe there is still time...unless its taken down already
