We're seeing some great new stuff added here. People seem to have been overwhelmed by all the new stuff that came with DR, and yes as VD has shown some is not working right or maybe just is super OP, but if people would try to not think about what it takes to get to there to fully maxed out and instead just try to enjoy the journey, maybe pvp in STO can make a comeback.
Torps are more relevant than ever before with the new Command specialization. There is more variety for fun builds than there has ever been in the game.
Next time you're fixing to make another forum thread lamenting the good old days or how things are broken, or how that fleet sucks, or to stroke egos. Go queue up instead!
This is the second funniest thread I've ever read.
I would even be fine with the new tree, but we have Neutronic. 90% of all the idiotic PvPers exploit it. 95% are going to use it with the tree. 5% are going to use it with other torps.
Neutronic exploited is a one shot button. With the new tree it only gets worse, which may bring me to banning Neutronic Spread for all in T5U.
im digging all the new stuff, was working on a drain boat last night and was commenting to the pals on the ts that there are now so many solid options to go with, its neat to look at a ship thats lacking resistance for instance, you can go to your traits now to add some, you can now craft some options in science consoles, etc and all the while its give and take
I also dig the T6 ships, its nice in a way of sorts to have a reset of ships, its not about whos got the bug ship, recluse, palasade, wells, etc and I really hope that cryptic keeps putting the best ships in the c-store and use the lockbox ships as neat ships to have, but not ships that you must have
I always thought of the galor as the perfect example of how a lock box ship should look like, excellent stats (but nothing so far and above that the c-store ships cant compete with) and a neat item that can be used on all your ships (the disruptor/phaser beams)
at this point I guess I am just wondering if the intel/hybrid slot will become a intel/command/hybrid slot or if the command slot will just be rolled out with certain ships
Nah, they're not gonna make T6 ships have hybrid universal specialization slots.
Instead they're going to release entirely new specialization specific ships which may or may not be palette swaps of existing ships. But they'll be another thirty bucks a piece.

Yesyes.. Nooptronic.. i think we all know, it s the weapon of the Brainless...
i remember how hopeful i was before DR launched. turned out most of the new stuff was broken op, and the grind and cost of entry is between double and 10 times higher then it was in season 9. prepare to be further disappointed, thats really all you can count on.
My biggest problem is we can't test any space powers. All we have to go on is descriptions. I wish they would make a generic test ship on tribble that people can use to test this stuff out. It can have crappy stats and look like a type 8 shuttle; we just need something that can activate the power and see how it works.

What keeps PvP going right now aren't the queues, but the community. The x up mechanic in PvP channels. I can't remember the last time I had a decent public arena.

It may not be feasible to run so many PvP worthy alts as it was prior to season 9, but getting 1-2 of them is doable. I don't play half as much as I used to and have two characters I'm comfortable bringing into a match at the moment. I've found things far easier to deal with as far as upgrades go and all that with help from my fleet mates.
Find a good fleet with a couple people that have crafting fully leveled and that are willing to craft things for you at cost and what not.
I'm asking everyone that PvPs in this game to please Queue Up!
Neutronic will get fixed eventually, or not. Slot a enhanced Monotanium MK XIV, hit BFI, put points into Armor Reinforcements, etc etc. and see what happens in the meantime.
Some might be thinking, Panser, you hated this games PvP and gave up on it. What's the deal? Well I've gotten bored of other games and had a couple good PvP matches last weekend and got a little excited to play again.
Maybe I'll give up again. But for now I'm trying to take a positive perspective.

There are positive people in the community and there are those that actually turn people off from PVP dude and your one of them. So don't talk about this community like you're a good part of it. Sh*t talking, being an elitist douche, that's not building community.
People like Drunk, Mancom, Mimey, DrkFrontiers, etc. are the community and actually help people and do things for the game. Or at least they used to.
All the PvP fleet elitist punks like Inner Circle, Lag, Pandas, are what drove away all the new PvP players after LoR because they just couldn't help themselves and had too much fun stomping helpless noobs instead of getting their egos bruised against real teams.

with the "used to" you already answered yourself, so I won't continue. To be honest I don't think there's someone who's doing more than me right now to keep the PvP community from tearing apart after DR.
what are you doing compared to me? All smack talk and no actions. That's what you are.

But more interesting:
What was the most funnie thread then?
If that were fixed, awesome. But since it is the way it is now...
