My Ship Ideas, an Ode to Creativeness.

Sorry, no poetry. Also, sorry if wrong place for this.

Please only constructive criticism.

Without further ado i give you my two new ship types. (like INTEL ships)

Late the other night while rummaging around in my kitchen as I'm oft to do this question burst into my thoughts.

How would the Command ships from EVE function in STO? (linky of one: https://wiki.eveonline.com/en/wiki/Eos)

"Command ships are engineered specifically to wreak havoc on a battlefield of many. Sporting advanced command module interfaces, these vessels are more than capable of turning the tide in large engagements. Command ships represent the ultimate in warfare link efficiency; the boosts they give their comrades in combat make them indispensable assets to any well-rounded fleet."

So basically they buff friendly ships. I know what you are thinking...we already have that with the Cruiser abilities right? Well yes and no. Cruisers abilities have some of the feel but they just aren't that good at it.

Thus we have the first set of ships, the Strategic Support type, are designed to provide unique and awesome benefits to a team. I tried to think of mastery traits that added to their unique console abilities and could still be useable on other ships.

The Second set of ships, the Strategic Assault type, aren't based on anything from EVE. I just thought it would be cool to have "lone wolf" type ships to balance out the "feel" of the Support types. I tried to give the Assault's an interesting and powerful feeling without being overpowered. (i may have missed the mark here an there. :P)

You may notice a theme with the ship names... lol I like Norse mythology... so sue me. :D
Names aren't really important as they were just a way for me to build each ship around a theme.

I think the consoles are good as they are but I'm no expert.

The Boff seating may raise a few eyebrows so let me give a small explanation.

The Cmdr. Seat is for, in my mind, /Strategic spec Boffs while the Lt. Cmdr seat is a DUAL Uni slot. That means it can fit Scis, Tacs, or Engis with ANY specialization. I felt that helped with the whole "strategic" feel a bit and more so with the Support ships.

As for the numbers that are there or missing numbers, like active time and cds, etc... I'm a wee bit lazy. :)

Plus, if by some miracle the devs use these ideas they can do all the maths. (and better give me the ships for free! lol)

I'm always up for new ships and abilities. I'm not familiar with Eve but the ship ideas seem good. I would like to see more team abilities as well if not in ship form then perhaps with either new captain abilities or skills. My only take about the "Lone Wolf" ships is just about in any ship can be made to stand on it's own it just depends on the gear and weapons you use on it.

True. However the Supports are designed to work with others whereas the "wolves" are designed to be able to complete any mission against overwhelming odds.

That is why the abilities are so strong.

That's like a voth dread with a thousand times stronger phaser lance... lol
