For me, I quite enjoyed the 4th season. The writing was better, the storylines were better and they were trying to develop the early characteristics of the species of the Federation.
They explained why the Federation and the Romulans did not get along at all, how the Terrans in TOS rose to such power and why the Klingons looked so human in TOS.
It was good and I'm sad that Enterprise was cancelled after the improvement shown in season 4.
Season 4 was also my favorite. It seemed like things were finally starting to mesh and they were actually fleshing out the history they promised they would.
I think it was a victim of franchise fatigue and Seasons 1-3 myself.
Yes Season 4 was the best.Disliked the first two seasons because they didn't kill anyone.Earths first exploration mission and it took them till season 3 to kill off a crew member. In TOS a red shirt would die on his way to breakfast.
Season 4, once they got rid of the Space TRIBBLE and wrapped up that "temporal cold war" stupidity. I'd've been happier with the whole series if Episode 4x03 was the first episode I saw.
Although on the whole, Season 3 was pretty good too.

Enterprise got off to a slow start, then got gradually better with each season. By season 4 it was actually kind of decent. That Mirror Universe episode will always be one of my favorite Trek episodes of all time. The finale was kind of weak though. So, season four was easily my favorite.
I enjoy all of it, but it was season 4 when Manny Coto took over that it turned truly great. Every trek except TOS has taken some time to get it's legs so it doesn't surprise me. Coto was brought on with season 3 and that's when it started improving. Then Coto was given full reign in season 4 and (after dealing with that horrific cliffhanger he was dumped with) crafted a beautiful season that had actually started delivering on the show's premise that we were promised. Mainly, ho wwe went from First Contact to the Federation. It's just a shame he was overruled for the finale and that abysmal episode. That could have been done so much better.
But the 2/3 parter arcs worked favourably. It allowed a nicely paced story to be told that didn't require you to remember everything from that season.

I would have to say season 4 too, though I would have liked a season 5 with the same writers focusing on the Romulan War. Though I did not like how they copied episodes from the other shows. But I have to say: Redshirt dies in TOS, Kirk: "Sucks for him", in Enterprise: Archer: "I will kill the sonofabitch that did this and all his freinds"
Captain Joseph Riker, U.S.S. Odyssey==General V'Mar, U.S.S. Blackwater-A==Admiral Laura Holmes, U.S.S. Forward Unto Dawn Grand Master Thotok, son of Koloth, I.K.S. Sompek==Dahar Master Shanara, I.K.S. Balth'Quv Admiral R'Tath V'Tirex, R.R.W. Dhael Glohha'enh==Commander Ta'eth Korval, R.R.W Hachae ch'Rhian==Admiral Vranuk, R.R.W Delevhas
But I did like "Regeneration" in season 2, that was one of the better episodes. And it explained the wreckage of the Borg sphere that everybody forgot about in that movie

I have to disagree with that kirk statement. Yes he lost redshirts, but you could see on his face he felt each loss. He didn't go as crazy as Archer, but he did feel the loss of each one.

I have to say that Ent had a lot of episodes that I liked. I actually LIKED the Nakuhl episode for some reason. It was IMO a good way to use time travel. I actually didn't mind the premise of the Temporal Cold war either. It's just that some aspects of the way it got written were just dumb...
Oh and I think my favorites were the eps with Shran. But Silik and Soong were pretty good too.
Having just finished it, I enjoyed seasons three and four the most.
The finale, though, I didn't enjoy. It just seemed, really out of place, and too much going back. If they wanted to include Riker and Troi, perhaps a reference to the movies would have been better.
But what really killed it was Trek Fatigue. There was a series on the air from 1987 until 2005, and that's a long time for a large number of people to be interested in a show. Almost too long in the hyper-competitive ratings wars.

Misters Berman & Braga feel the same way about the finale now looking back. They said it seemed like a good idea at the time, something many are guilty of.
Yes, agree 3 & 4 are the best, with some pretty good singles in the first two seasons.
Would have loved to see the Fed/Rom war handled in a season wide arc like the Xindi one, but alas it was not to be.

But I really got stuck to my TV during Season 3. I didn't watch it when it was running, but off DVD.
And to be able to keep going during Season 3..... was bloody awesome.
Join the Deltas today!
Season 3 started off with promise, but... I'm not sure where it went wrong.
Oh wait, that's right.
Although on the whole, Season 3 was pretty good too.

Enterprise did some good things, but stupid plots (Temporal Cold War, Space TRIBBLE) and other dumbness ("Reed Alert") dragged it down overall.
