No free T5U token?

So did I miss something are we not getting a single free T5U token for our lvl 50s?

If that is the case I think I'm done.

    It's hardly that big a deal imo - I have ten different toons (one of which isn't currently eligible, one is free to upgrade, one that I'll move to T6, and the others need a token), and I'll be getting them all upgraded when I can.

    Plus we don't get a free T6 ship either, which was sorta expected.
    Was named Trek17.

    Been playing STO since Open Beta, and have never regarded anything as worse than 'meh', if only due to personal standards.

    I' with you my friend I have:
    6 KDF lvl 50
    2 Romaklinks lvl 50
    2 Fed lvl 50
    1 Fed bank boy

    I have played KDF from closed beta, a lifer, spent enough cash on the perfect world gambling system known as lock boxes to be ashamed of myself. Tested every major content update and purchased almost everything for sale for KDF and Rom on the C-store. I will keep my eyes open if they offer a free T5U token. I can beam back to real life with very little regrets to pursue more lasting endeavors.

    Cryptic was very clear about which ships would and would not get free upgrades. They were clear weeks and weeks ago.

    Quit if you like. But don't pretend that you still don't know about it. The forums have been littered with griefer threads all this time too.

    No I did not know about it for as long as I have been with STO note only about 200 posts. I don't have time to ghost forums as my job and life keeps me well occupied.

    Anyways it is a still silly even responding to your post. Ok time for another day another dollar.

    Lockbox, lobi, vet ships. All free to upgrade to T5U. Do you own any of those?

    The risan ships and the anniversary dyson ship we got free are also free to upgrade

    Since I'm managing the new content on Elite with a T5 ship, I'd say don't upgrade, save your cash/zen/dil and play on

    What about the free Odyssey Ship you got from an event some years ago? I only see the 3 (Tac/Eng/Sci) in the list, but not the one that was free, since that one is a normal one. Since this is my only T5 ship I have and I live from Disability buying Zen is offlimits, I love the games from Pwe, but seriously the prices of the stuff in the zen store are OUTRAGEOUS. I've read a post on here or in the blog that for high endgame stuff it is recommended to get a T5U atleast to do them. There is a limit how much work you need to do to get all the content. It takes a crapload of work to get all the Dilithium to get the zen you need to buy stuff. I know it's still free and I'm not complaining about that, but that rich ppl are being put ahead of those less fortunate pisses me the hell off.

    As with all of these C-Store ships, you need to buy the ship again, so you can use the ship you already bought in the first place. A smart person would simply use a Lockbox/Lobi ship. You can buy those with EC, and they get free upgrades. Problem solved. And better yet, you just spent the Wonderland getting a perfectly good ship too, so you might as well use it, and take full advantage of the free upgrade.
    I completed a 2-man CSE, ISE, and KASE, Optionals included. And I soloed Winter Invasion.

    I said that this Odyssey was free from an event when it just came out (Enterprise-F IIRC) so no I didn't bought it, you had to be level 5 to do the mission and you got the ship after that. No way in hell I'm going to pay one penny on it to be able to upgrade it, that it's not in the list doesn't mean it shouldn't be upgradeable I don't even know if it is, but I just said that I'm on disability so Zen is out of the question and collecting the Dilithium to get the zen is going to take years for me. I'm playing the game to have fun, not necessary to be the best or what not, so I won't even make the daily cap of Dil anyhow. Also some ships in this game are drop dead ugly which I refuse to fly free or not.

    you get 1 for free across the whole account (sub? lifetime?) if you are not f2p. All free and box etc ships upgrade free. Your vet destroyer upgrades free.

    Old fleet and cstore ships don't. And its not really worth it for *most* of those... wait it out, and by mid-year I suspect any type of ship will exist in t6 on the exchange. A new box has to be coming, and an anniversary ship. The existing ones are already pretty good, dps cruiser, destroyer, and sci carrier at t6 so far for "free" or EC which is effectively free (ive made enough in R&D mats during this event to buy a second one nearly).

    Grinding Dil for Zen for a Ship Upgrade Token would be stupid, anyway.

    They're on the Exchange, and relatively cheap.

    Except some of us would rather be flying a Federation Starship, or a Klingon bird-of-prey, or a Romulan warbird, rather than some random alien ship that makes no story-logical sense whatsoever.

    Cryptic should've done it all-or-nothing. Either all the ships you already have claimed are automatically T5U, or none of them are and they all need upgrades bought for them.

That's on one character; if you have multiple, you can of course do it faster (and the ship purchase would be accountwide). And assuming a constant flow of Contraband (which you can get from doff assignments or the Exchange), and logging in twice a day, you can get half of that simply by talking to a guy on a starbase. If you run the hourly rep projects on all six reputations, twice a day, you can get another 4000 dil that way - and guess what? You have your quota. You'd have to get the rep marks to fuel that (probably earning the EC and more dil in the process), but you can easily do that via PVE queues (one queue with the daily bonus would give you about 2 days' worth of project marks for each rep, so you'd need to do 3 queues a day... and that would earn you another 1000 dil as well.)
    westmetals THANKS a bunch for this useful information and I'm glad that the most folks here don't take this as a rant or a way to get free stuff, cause I always keep coming back to STO, cause I love the game :) Since I'm not 60 yet, cause I'm playing with 1 friend and he's level 42 now so I'm trying to get him towards my level :)

    From my experience, ALL T5 Vessels are upgradable to T5-U. All Zen ships cost an upgrade token, and all Lobi / lockbox ships are free upgrade. Not hard to figure.

    Don't forget that Zen ships can be claimed multiple times, and Lobi/Lockbox are one-shots that need to be re-puchased if used on multiple toons. A "Single" upgrade isn't overly prohibitive, especially when it's one upgrade PER ACCOUNT for a given ship.

    This. you get the upgrade unlocked on the ENTIRE ACCOUNT. so if you use it on a standard "free" t5 class ship, it's there for every toon on the account. that's one of the arguments about getting a t5u heavy escort carrier, vs the t5u fleet heavy escort carrier. because even though the fleet HEC is technically better, the standard HEC doesn't cost the fleet modules to acquire...it's already there.

    heck, buy a mirror ship for 150k on the exchange, and t5u it...and then you have a t5u ship for every toon for only 150k ec. that's TRIBBLE easy.

    Actually the mirror ships aren't upgradable just like the free admiral ships.
