Just wondering why there isn't much love for the Hazari Destroyer. No one talks about them here and I never ever see any out in the STFs.
I picked one up off the exchange for a pretty reasonable sum and have been having a good time with it. They aren't cheap but they aren't expensive compared to other ships. Around 80M on the exchange.
4/3 is nothing special but isn't bad and can equip dual cannons. I run three 360 degree beams on the back so I have 7 front facing beams. I don't really lose anything compared to a 5/2 ship.
5 Tac Consoles is great
Lt. Cmd. Science BOFF slot for GW2 is awesome
Intelligence Officer gives some interesting abilities like OSS
It's starship Traits are very good (except for the Mastery trait).
Turns like an escort but has a beefy cruiser-like hull
The unique shields console is pretty decent too, help big time in absorbing damage
Besides being non-canon am I missing something about it?

its the age of FAW, so 8 weapons beat 7 for that. I would love to get one on my toon that does the Grav well, Cannon, Grav Torp deal. Alot of fun. But most people are gonna de value it since its a 7 weapon ship. And might as well use something else.
It doesn't compare all that well to any of the available T6s available; much less those of the Faction-specific ships despite the Hazari being equivalent to T6 Fleet.
Eclipse?
- 8 weapon slots
- Built-in Cloak
- High turn for a cruiser
- Worthwhile Starship Mastery Trait
- Full Intel access
Scryer?
- High Debuff Potential (Console, Sci Skills, Intel Skills)
- Can use Sensor Analysis and Intel Analysis (whatever it's called) at the same time
- Worthwhile Mastery Trait for Sci-players
- Built-in Cloak
- Full Intel access
And that's just the 3 Intel Ships available for Feds.
The single Intel ships of the Rom and KDF are also stronger choices, mainly on the grounds of full Intel access. The two non-Intel ships; the Rom Aelahl, has 8 slots to make up for a slightly lower turn rate, and the KDF Mat'ha, has a trait that's worthwhile for builds still using the Rom Plas Torp launcher and a nice cannon attack.
Thanks and I agree that there are other good T6 ships available. But many of the ships brought up here are $30 while the Hazari is a reasonable EC buy off the exchange. And even focusing on just the exchange, the Hazari is cheaper than the Xindi Escort and far cheaper than a JHAS. All are 7 weapon ships with 5 Tac Consoles. There are BOFF differences, but the Hazari's setup is pretty decent and it has Intel powers that those guys don't.
I don't think its the best ship by any means, and yes there are better ships out there for sure, but I guess I felt that there is a larger disparity in terms of performance and its price/usage and wanted to understand why. The posts here help answer that to an extent, but the gap still seems somewhat large.
Is there anything better that we can get that is reasonably affordable off the exchange?
I got a Hazari from lobi crystals. I thought I would treat myself to something cool. I was a bit underwhelmed by the ship, but that might be because I'm a bad ship builder in the fact that I always fly escort types and set them all up pretty much the same.
I could be missing something with it. I should have sold it on the exchange and gotten a Plasmonic Leech or similar or used the lobi for the "future" consoles...the tachy conv. console for example. Did I use the right name? I think you know what I mean.

Well over other escorts you should added Oss int he intel slot. That brings it up above the T5U counterparts IMO.
But, when each faction has an actual intel ship that can OSS+SS, yeah it kinda falls behind.
And one might have thought there would be a niche following of the ship, eh?
But I don't remember seeing one since the first week...hrmm, I know that I was personally disappointed to find out that the Trait is a Strength boost instead of a Bonus boost - would have worked nifty for the type of build I tend to fly, but it simply wasn't worth it as Strength.
The Shield Drone could be nifty...but I found it to be more nifty while flying the Benthan. Meh, it's easier to blind FAW with the Benthan than it is to directional FAW with the Hazari too...fits more of the wheee playstyle.

Doubling up on APs, TTs, and FAWs keeps em going. OSS2 gives a nice damage to boost. GW1 is great for keeping enemies bundled together when warp cores start going off. The rest keeps the ship alive.
I do around 21-22k DPS consistently and can pull 24k on a good run on a slightly older setup. I did a few small upgrades since then and working on a few others. I hope to do 25k DPS consistently once I finish this upgrade cycle and get my reputation traits.
The wide front arc with 360 degree aft beams and escort maneuverability makes this pretty easy to fly around in too.
I know its not perfect but it has worked pretty well for me. I'm just surprised not to see or hear more about it.
I'm actually considering purchasing this ship as a replacement for my defiant refit. Waiting for the exchange prices to drop.
This program, though reasonably normal at times, seems to have a strong affinity to classes belonging to the Cat 2.0 program. Questerius 2.7 will break down on occasion, resulting in garbage and nonsense messages whenever it occurs. Usually a hard reboot or pulling the plug solves the problem when that happens.
I liked it well enough to spring for a t5u upgrade, and I am pretty stingy with those, its the only one I have bought so far (got 1 for LT).
Its a very good ship. It has the typical non kdf raider flaws, 6 weapons and can't cloak, but it is still a great ship.
The trouble with raiders is you have to flank to get damage from them. You can flank by accident --- some structures are flanked no matter what, and you can easily cap the ICE generators by accident with this ship if you have FAW/DBB build, or something like that. Other times, you can't flank when you want to -- stuff moves too much or like the dumb planet killer has a front only approach or whatever other stupidity.
When flanking, its easily a top tier dps ship. The rest of the time, its an escort that is down 1 weapon. If you are good enough to flank even 25% of the time or so, you can do wonders with this little guy.
I have 2 ap omni's aft and 4 DBB front. I tossed out my usual third, the cutting beam, and its not really that big a loss since the cutter does not FAW. The issue isnt really the lost aft weapon, its going up against a world of 5 frontal weapon ships that makes it a struggle to keep up.
I've planning on getting this ship when I save up enough EC for it. In the meantime, I'll continue leveling up (at lvl 14 as of now) to use the Kazon Raider and T'Varo Retrofit ships. I can upgrade both to T5-U. Also, I'm planning on getting the Faeht Intel Warbird.
By the way, does anyone know if you use a starship upgrade token on a Kazon Raider to upgrade it on one character, will it allow you to upgrade it for free on other characters on the account? Thank you in advance for the answer.

kazon raider is free upgrade to T5-U

yes, it upgraded on everyone when I used the token. I have 3 of the things --- the price must have spiked; I got them for under 200k each a while ago?
Thank you again for the answer to the Kazon Raider upgrade question. Now I will feel better when I use one of my two upgrade tokens on it. The other token is for the T'Varo Retrofit. Both ships are boxed in my bank.
I do apologize about derailing the thread.
The Hazari Destroyer will make a fine addition to my future ship collection, when I can afford it.

I think you got lucky and someone forgot to add a 0 at the end.

Of the Fed Intel ships alone:
Phantom?
- BFG Lance
- Built-in Cloak
- Amazing Level 5 Mastery Trait
- Full Intel access

TT1, IT1
EPtS1, AtS1, DEM2
EPtW1
HE1, ST2, GW1
4x AP DBB
2x OD AP
1x KCB
5x Advanced Locators

Pretty similar to the build I've been using...
TT1, APB1, FAW3, APO3
TT1
FAW1, OSS2
EPtS1, RSP1, EPtW3
TSS1, HE2, GW1
4x AP Beam Arrays
2x OD AP
1x KCB
5x Vulnerability Locator
