Greetings - as the subject suggests (and I probably know the answer anyway), can anyone confirm that, once all 3 current spec trees are full on a lv 60 toon that there are no rewards beyond that? no extra dil / tokens / anything at all ?
I believe it was in a dev blog a good while back that they removed the dilithium reward due to power levelling. To many people were running a particular patrol and were max level in a week but were not playing the new content. Just dilithium farming like mad men.
Beyond that is waiting for new specializations to come out. So if you like Intelligence and either Pilot or Commando with no desire to use another, then there is no need to go past level 95. Of course, new Primary specialization trees will have various unlocks like Kit Modules and Captain Training since Intelligence allows training your Intel bridge officers in various skills and equipping purple Intelligence Kit Modules for your Captain.
I doubt they'll ever reinstate "dil for XP", since that was a genuinely nice reward for players but it contrasts with the overall direction of game design.
Hopefully, any new specializations they add will be accompanied by a rescaling of XP rewards to let new players and alt characters compete.
They may reinstate them at some point in the future.
I have not focused on the trees myself, blindly getting spec points at the rate of 1 per week.
They are planning to add new trees in the future.
I highly doubt that's coming back.
That provides an extra means of earning dilithium simply from playing whatever normal routine a player has. Cryptic can't simply have that.
Not to mention that system has gone into the same Black Hole that all removed game elements have gone.
Terrordome
Exploration Clusters
Original Starbase 24 gameplay of 2 parts:
Part 1: Clear space around SB24 as it is now.
Part 2: Once cleared, players have the option of boarding the damaged SB24 to clear the Klingons out of there. Not required.
And now the removal of earning dil with XPs / leveling etc post Lv60, post specialization mastery. Even after they nerfed the living hell out of XPs, greatly increased the XP requirements per level, nerfed the living hell out of Patrols, they still kept it removed.
I'd like to point out that instead of fixing these elements, refining these game elements, they just outright removed them. The removal of Terrordome for instance was sooooooo long ago and never fixed, never tweaked, never adjusted. Just removed.
It's idiotic.
It's like having a broken finger but the doctor says your arm past your shoulder has to be amputated.

I think the dil for xp went the same way as the cheap version of the doff compactor. A dev tossed it in because it seemed like a nice idea, then the players abused it like a rented mule...
Oh and Terradome was still broken after they tried fixing it several times. I think they removed it because they couldn't fix it in the timeframe they had.
And why should it? They gave the players something nice and the players proved that they will abuse the hell out of it. Sorry, cryptic is at fault for a lot...but this one is squarely on the players.
Right, because players write the code. Those damn players... If it wasn't for those pesky players, I would have gotten away with it!

Ah, do we need another "Don't blame me" thread. Or is it mostly the same people?
Captain Jean-Luc Picard: "We think we've come so far. Torture of heretics, burning of witches, it's all ancient history. Then - before you can blink an eye - suddenly it threatens to start all over again."
"With the first link, the chain is forged. The first speech censured, the first thought forbidden, the first freedom denied, chains us all irrevocably."

Players write the code. Just lucky players that happen to be a dev. After all, there is no way to tell the difference between a player and a dev using their player account.
On a related note, what happens when you get past 60 tokens? I have 15 spare now, from not doing Commando (but maxed out the other 2).
One of the Dev blogs stated that you stop getting new tokens at the current max spendable. But if you save them instead of spending on an existing tree you can max a new tree when it comes out. This was specifically to prevent people grinding now and having maxed the new powers on day 1.
Oh, and won't THAT be something to look forward to? No sooner will everyone max out their current tree than along comes a new one, all slightly better than the last to make it attractive, and all that work people have put into grinding the current tree will be for NOTHING because you can only have one active at a time.

The fact the devs or management didn't have the foresight to anticipate this, and perhaps do something different from the get-go, is disturbing.

And (how surprising) no suggestion as to what might replace it either . . .
Cheers,

My character Tsin'xing
Or it could be you just don't get any more XP anymore.
Which is more or less the same thing, since expertise is useless.
Formerly known as "@BlackMethos".
But someone at PWE already had that handle, dammit!!!
