It might be prudent that you avoid falling for the ad that is appearing at the top of the forum page for free ZEN for filling out surveys.
You can do you own research on this but from what I have seen its pretty much a scam. Out of curiosity I went ahead and followed the process and attempted to take several of their surveys to see what was what, and sure enough, after a few questions, I was given a message stating that the survey was closed with directions to another site.
I ran that site and it was filled with some pretty nasty malware.
So use caution.
What happened to those unique forum ranks I paid for?
I ran several surveys, and every single one of them said I was not qualified.

its why i run ghostery on my firefox browser to weed out things like these adverts and cookies that attempt to phish for information, even by just observation. also never save history files although firefox has an annoying habit of saving these files even when you tell em not to so run ccleaner every other week and av software every week then a registry and internet cleaner and then a program that shreds files and cleans out extras that have no purpose then a disk defrag every 3 months like clockwork.
its obviously not enough to stop something persistent but it keep some of the worst away, in addition its easy to spot scam emails, get em all the time, just delete them and move on.
so these surveys i never get involved in unless its legit.
T6 Miranda Hero Ship FTW. Been around since Dec 2010 on STO and bought LTS in Apr 2013 for STO.

A few years ago I did some surveys and signed up for a few free trials.
I got about 500Z for my efforts which was quite cool...
That was until I got a phonecall from my credit card company that I had been charged over £3,000 by some firm in Italy.
Turns out I had given my CC details as part of one of the free trials (linked by PWE from this very site and granting me bonus Zen when I did it). Only the trial was being run by a criminal that then charged my CC...
I got the money back from the CC company, but never clicked on that banner since

First rule of Internet (also true if you are a minor female, for others reasons), when a website or a mail ask you for personal informations like CC details or password (unless you are actually buying something), run like hell. And clean your computer.
I can't see of any reasons why a website would want to know your CC details, unless they want to use it. And you probably don't want to. Even your bank would not ask for it, since they have already have what they need.

It was a free trial of some sort of financial news website. I was told I would get 150 free zen (which I did) when i signed up. They wanted my CC details so that at the end of the 30 day trial they could charge me £X per month for proper subscription. I couldn't sign up without giving those details but also knew I could cancell the trial within the 30 days and not get charged.
Given the link back here I thought it was ok. Turned out it wasn't.

I dunno... Last Valentine's Day I got my wife some flowers and myself some Zen at the same time. Granted, the flowers were overpriced, even with considering the Zen bonus, but that's the Florist Industry's Holiday Scam, not any more.
I think the general rule to follow is Use Common Sense.

I do the surveys frequently and have gotten tons of zen from them over the last few months. However I refuse to use my real name or provide any personal information other than my postal code. If it asks for an e-mail i use one that is not linked to my real name. It asks for a CC number it gets closed then and there same if it tries to sign me up to a survey site or other service.
A lot of the surveys are complete doody and you get disqualified for looking at them wrong but there are some really decent ones. It just takes some time and patience but it can be worth it.
Just to add i completed 4 surveys at the start and was not credited my zen, you have to go into arc and click buy zen, there is a link for add zen from wallet that allows you to transfer it to any pwe game. Select STO, Holodeck and the amount and click transfer.

pretty much this!!!
I do the surveys all the time with no trouble. One just has to be smart and remember they're on the internet. Never give personal info and never give anything linked to your money. If you get a free trial, remember it's a trial and they will charge you after the trial period.

For the whole of PWE, really, since that isn't Cryptic's website.

Upon contacting PWE support, I was told that they have no proof that I ever did them.

Yeah because why need that when they have a Lock boxe system that gives you a 00000.1% chance to get the prize?
