Pretty sure you need to beat it on Elite for the accolades to pop now.

If you didn't get it pre-DR, good luck. I doubt anybody will get it anymore.

Its easy (as easy as pre-DR), just more tedious. For a certain sum you can get KP-chan-Members to pull you through.

It took you lot 30 minutes to complete. The same lot that can best the old ISE in about 1.5 minutes (roughly).

The entire thing hinges on killing stuff before it can get into range of the transport. When they have 12x the hitpoints, you can't do that. It might have been that pre-DR you could spawn a grav well or use TBR to push them back to a certain limit while you kill most of them. Once that expired you'd have one or two left to finish off from that wave. Now? Your grav well or TBR will have long expired and the enemy resumed their advance long before you are able to finish half of them off. Unless you have a perfect team with redundant skills that can double and triple-up on grav wells as needed, you aren't going to be able to beat it.

Remember the one dread with 4.6 MILLION hitpoints? A single ship. In wave 3. Each DD had something like 1.5 MILLION hp.

You had to change tactics so that the 5 hardest hitting players in the game could clear each wave. Tactics can only make up for lack of raw power in so many cases. Where the right tactics could allow a 10k DPS player to beat NWS (if done right) pre-DR, it just can't happen now. You'll never kill 4.6M hp and 1.5M hp ships with 10k dps.

What I'm saying is: You have the luxury of saying "it isn't any harder" because your baseline is 100k DPS. You don't exactly speek for the masses. Or even for the minority. In a game where DPS makes the difference, you have plenty.

I like it how you have a dps-point of view without any deeper knowledge.

The first thing we tried was forcing our way through like we did before (like in nws-n now, GW became optional for high enough dps/spike, though anyone (who could force through) with wits had it as a failsafe, or just do make it easier), and as we ourselves expected, that didnt go well. We failed exactly where we thought we would.

The second thing some people would try were some adaptions, exotic builds etc.
However, for those who tried NWS when it was implemented the solution was rather simple. Hell, it was the baseline for beating it for a long time. Hold the enemy of. Not like you mentioned with double-GW (though that might work, but it only holds and doesnt drag them out of combatrange) but with double TBR. Or doubling both with A2b. As only a single a2b is needed (because you have to use it wisely, and timed) every ship capable of nws can use it (arkif would be a sad exeption here, as lt.cmd. uni has to be sci, but this has then lt.+lt.cmd.sci, so 2tbr+1gw).
With that, elite was easy, but as I stated tedious. Because the enemies still got some HP, but (after repulsoring) no teeth (which they have if you fail to repulsor).
There are a number of consoles further helping these things, like Magnetometric Overload (kdf only, also quite powerful for shuttle nws), black hole (from elachi lockbox), and projected singularity console (wasnt used when first conquering elite nws, delta lockbox). Aceton is of course also powerful, but works similar to gw (holding in place) with the secondary effect of rendering warheads harmless.

So, yeah, we went back to the basic concept (which was also used for 2- und 3-maning it) and were able to finish teethless enemies with high junk of dps without a sweat. Thats just tedious.
And like such a mission demands, yes, you need certain ships (like before: lt.cmd. sci, plus double tbr or a2b or certain consoles) and a premade-team of people with rudimentary knowledge about this game and especially nws (can be gained on boring, but farmfriendly normal mode). The amount of dps just plays in role in how long you need for it, and pretty little in if you can do it.

If players without dps would just think a bit outside the box, "difficulty" changes and "fail options" would be no problem for advanced...
