How to make EC?

collossustitancollossustitan Member Posts: 25 Arc User
Hi all,

I wanna get the new Elachi DReadnought, I have 2 choices, find 500 mil EC or have a .0001 percent chance to get it from the R&D boxes

So I was wondering on how to make that much EC

Ty all

Wait a month and it will be going for 80mil. If the game survives a month. The exchange economies been lobotomized so good luck with that.

The same way you make money in every other MMO; exploiting other players via the market.

If you didn't have the EC already saved up for one, you're going to need to roll the dice/have a very generous benefactor.

    1. Buy low.
    2. Sell high.
    3. Repeat as needed.

The fastest way is to open your wallet to cryptic. So you use real cash to buy zen, use the zen to buy lock box keys. Then sell the keys to make EC. But like others have said if your dead set on obtaining
one just wait a while and prices should come down. Notice I said "should" because its driven by supply and demand. And the supply is controlled by cryptic so the prices may remain where they are. The Jem'Hadar attack ships being another prime example. Despite being matched or even out performed by other ships the rarity of the drops and peoples eagerness to pay through the teeth for them, the price rarely drops below 400mil unless someones missed a zero of the list price.
Oh, it's not broken? We can soon fix that!

by the time you get 500 mil, the event will end and the price will double since the ship will become exchange-only to obtain.

Since this event ends on Jan 5, 2015 the fastest way to get 500 mil EC is to use real money to purchase Zen. Then you need to use that Zen to purchase items from the C-Store like Fleet modules and master keys and then turn around and sell them on the Exchange.

If you are willing to spend money and/or Dilithium
Check the Exchange for what sells better: Master Keys, Fleet Ship Modules or Ship Upgrades, and then acquire (via Zen you bought with money or the dilithium exchange) and sell the most cost-efficient ones.
The prices there seem to be relatively stable, so you can predict how costly it will become to you and... And then consider if you need the ship that badly. ;)

If you're not crafting yourself, sell crafting supplies you got. (But beware that the current Elachi ship promo also means that crafting supplies are becoming cheaper or have already become cheaper).

If you're crafting, consider selling crafting kits and maybe even more expensive-to-made items.

    Bribe Geko.
Don't look silly... Don't call it the "Z-Store/Zen Store"...
Let me put the rumors to rest: it's definitely still the C-Store (Cryptic Store) It just takes ZEN.

Ironically, the very promo packs are good money to sell. Try and buy the four packs if you can, as that makes the cost only 250 zen per pack so you will save on some dil or cash (depending on how you do it).

Sell JUST below the current market price, and the exchange barons (or so it happened for me) will buy yours up ASAP, so that they have the lowest price.

I sold six of them earlier (had the foolish notion to open 2 thinking I might get the ship) for literally just under 9.5 million EC. They were bought not even a minute after posting them.

Results may vary, but that is what happened with me. I only stopped as I didn't want to drain all my dil, and Zen has already gone up a good amount recently already.
I remain empathetic to the concerns of my community, but do me a favor and lay off the god damn name calling and petty remarks. It will get you nowhere.
I must admit, respect points to Trendy for laying down the law like that.

These ships aren't the same as lock box ships, when the event runs out the price of them goes up and the only way you can find them is someone selling them in a trade channel because the exchange cap is 500 million EC and they charge over that.

Anyway, Ty for all the ts and responses:D

Buy event stuff when price is at it's lowest. Wait a year, sell a week or two before the event for 200x the price you've paid for it.

    Nerf is OP, plz nerf
That's quite the paradox, how could you nerf nerf when the nerf is nerfed. But how would the nerf be nerfed when the nerf is nerfed? This allows the nerf not to be nerfed since the nerf is nerfed? But if the nerf isn't nerfed, it could still nerf nerfs. But as soon as the nerf is nerfed, the nerf power is lost. So paradoxally it the nerf nerf lost its nerf, while it's still nerfed, which cannot be because the nerf was unable to nerf.

I call it, the Stoutes paradox.

Rob a Ferengi's vault and sell the contents. :D

Otherwise promo packs seems to be a good option atm.
