That guy that spams invites is a amateur, now those people who made channels to give away free invites and provisions, so that the dill sink of base building would be removed from the game, forceing the devs to create a massive new dill sink and dill reward nerfs... Those are the pro trolls. It was such a huge trolling hidden in plain view of everyone and no one noticed what was happening till it was too late.
If you're seriously suggesting that the practice of people inviting others to use their fleet holdings is responsible for the current Cryptic Senior Staff-driven cash grab then I'd quite like some of what you're smoking. Don't you think this ability would have been turned off if it was causing a problem?
The only people responsible for the current situation are Cryptic themselves. The players are in no way to blame for Cryptic's greed.
I had a short back and forth with Mr. Rivera and he has mentioned the current work being done to the ignore system. I am glad he has made this a priority. I think they are also working to get rid of some of the trolls doing the spamming invites. I have been on for a few hours today and did not get a single spam invite. I hope (crossing fingers) that is how it continues.
Another issue I brought up with him is people joining channels over and over to seek out targets. In a channel I run, the troll in question was joining over and over again and using the member list to target players with his spam invites. I am sure it was happening in other channels as well. I hope they add in a permanent channel ban feature. I know they can just make another account and join that way, but I think even a troll would get tired of making new accounts eventually.
Some of you are aware that the troll was purposely making mock fleets and using names similar to others just so he could troll people and then have them blame the real fleet. In my case, he created a few fleets and even listed me as the contact so I started getting mails from players asking what the deal was. All of them were very understanding and they are now aware of what was happening. I can only imagine how many other fleets had to put up with that.
I am sincerely happy that Al has addressed this himself. I think he saw just how many tickets were being created for the exact same issue over and over. I have to think that it was probably starting to cost them money as more and more of the GMs time was being used to handle tickets because of what was probably one or maybe two guys trolling what felt like anyone and everyone.
I am not seeing those fake fleets anymore or those accounts created just for trolling so either the troll took a day off or Al got those removed from the game. I hope it is the latter.

He's prolly not making new fleets olivia , just changing the name, currently its called Saint Olivia Donation Center, using the ingame player search you can see the names of all his alts on the fleet. no need to search for the player name, just search for the fleet name.

Where was he accusing Dental? You guys do have a rep, but I don't see any proof of him specifically targeting you guys. While Dental may be the most visible example, its not the source of every problem, such as what the OP and olivia were hit with.
In my experience, and I remember you Nbreeki from a Kitomer ground run before the Disco Balls were set to social zone only use, Dentals don't actively try and destroy other players. Just general annoying for the lulz, but nothing distructive. I actually had a decent run of Kitomer space with a Dental who worked with us. What the OP and olivia had was blatant stalker behavior designed to totally disrupt their gaming experience to the point they actually couldn't play. In short, an in game DoS attack. If that doesn't qualify as a TOS breach... something's messed up here.
Or we could run with a simpler explanation: Dentals -- and let's make no mistake, you are directly accusing Dental in that post -- aren't involved in the spamming, nor are they involved with the racist forums names. You seem to have overlooked that, because there is no evidence, there can be no punishment. You're right: this isn't a court of law, but if I'm not the spammer, then I cannot be punished for being something I'm not, because NOT being the spammer means there is no evidence available to prove that I am.

I can confirm that an elite strike force of Devs, led by CaptainGeko, is working on a solution to this issue, and I trust that they will find a solution as soon as they can. They are already looking into the problem, and hope to have and update for you soon on the solution.

Don't know if anyone else has noticed or stated it here (don't have time to scan the forums), but I didn't know what anyone was talking about with this "Saint Olivia" issuing challenges until I happened to type something in zone chat. Then BAM! there's a challenge in my face. Every time I say something in zone chat on any character (without the privacy settings changed), the challenge appears a couple of seconds after I hit enter. The bot must be scanning the zone chat for targets.
Just in case that helps...if someone's already posted this or you figured it out already or whatever, then just ignore me. (Everyone usually does.)

They've said there's a fix in the works and it's patch day tomorrow, so it could well be sorted out then. Incidentally that's probably why things have been kicked up a notch in WW to get the most out of it before it's patched.

There were a few of us in there warning off some of the newer players as he/she was trying to get donations for the "fleet"/"giveaway" and it was obvious this was just trying to dupe those who were none the wiser.
Hopefully we saved a fair few people from throwing their goodies to the wrong person.

On the plus side though Olivia, you are probably a lot more well known now than ever before as zone chat was basically all about you all day! So this mess has been some great publicity for your wonderful giveaways that you run in ESD.

You are not alone Olivia. Today in Winter Wonderland a fake Olivia started spamming PVP invites to many people in that area (myself and a couple of fleetmates I was running with included).
After a few of us spoke up in zone saying this was NOT you, and indeed informing some people as to who you are and what you do it seemed to stop.
But it did seem to cause quite a stir at the time.
