Foundry Challenge #10: New Years Eve, 2409
This is the comments thread for Foundry Challenge #10: New Years Eve, 2409.
We also have an Index of previous challenges HERE.

This is a new kind of Foundry Challenge that will test our your UGC skills as well as your production and planning skills. Time to see what you can create on a tighter deadline, much like the production deadlines out there in the professional gaming world. Remember, time can be a predator, or a friend :D

Good luck to everyone who enters, and have fun with this challenge! It can be a great way to wish your fellow players a happy new year, or show us the horrors of what happens when you mess with time!

What is the point in creating these challenges if Cryptic doesn't use it and is only for foundry mission? Is their some-type of disclaimer or prevention from CBS from allowing player content to be used or instructed on what needs to be made? It is utterly frustrating that Cryptic puts out these challenges and yet does nothing with it other than to put into the que.

How about allowing the foundry community to fill in the all the empty content? I know that is a marvel idea, but that is Crazy talk from Cryptics point of view.

The Nexus would come around in roughly September of 2410, not around the New Year.

However, Soran TRIBBLE with its course might make it come around early I suppose...

If you mean having Cryptic turn foundry missions into official content, I think they gave up the ghost on that one long ago.

No doubt, but it would really do alot for the game. But, what i suspect is behind it is CBS as they are sticklers about such things. They like to micromanage so much, while Cryptic is apart of the problem i dont blame CBS as much as i do Cryptic.

    That's it.
A Foundry Challenge dragged me out of my standard holiday grump.

    Changed my Sig and everything.

    FACTION : KDF
    LEVEL : 46+
    TITLE : (To Be Announced)
    STATUS : working

    DESCRIPTION :
This Mission is set before Surface Tension.

Following the events of "A Step Between The Stars", the Undine threat stands exposed. The Klingon High Council and Empire Ambassadors carefully negotiate with the other powers of the Alpha Quadrant to end current wars, and focus on the greater threat of the Undine.

Soon, a conference is to be held in the Jenolan Sphere. Prospects of a cease fire, and perhaps an alliance seem likely.

But not everyone supports this idea.

And the Undine, are still hiding.

    New Year's Eve, 2409

    -Peace-

    Second that.

I admit STO has been sitting on the backburner for me for some time. But a new challenge is just whats needed to get my attention again.

Currently working on a concept, if it comes together coherently on paper, then I'm in!

I just want emphasize that for the record, it is the Foundry that keeps me coming back to this game.

It's about half way through the month and I hope your Foundry Missions are coming along nicely!

We have another couple of weeks until the Production Deadline date passes, December 31st, and we begin our playing/voting stage that will last until Mid-January.

Good luck to everyone, and I cannot wait to see what you come up with!

Are we supposed to post entries in this thread or the other one? I thought the other one, but it is still locked.

In either case, here is mine. Enjoy:
    Mission Title: Party Crashers ST-HUY4Y2D5Q
    Your @Handle: @winin
    Faction: Federation
    Level Requirement: Any Level
    Mission Summary:
The colony you saved from True Way thugs on Goralis III invited you back to celebrate the new year Cardassian-style, but will the party happen when uninvited guests arrive?

NOTE: This is a follow-up to the mission "Seeds of Dissent" which is in the Cardassian Struggle series of official missions.

    Some fighting.
    Heavy story.

Not sure, but Smirk has yet to unlock the submission thread.

The Foundry still seems to be down at the moment. As soon as it comes back up I'll be publishing my entry.

As we are currently having problems with the Foundry and other in-game features, I will extend the Production Phase until at least Monday so everyone has more time to complete their missions.

As I have no ETA on when things will be fixed properly, we will play it by ear. I will unlock the submission thread today and allow a window of in between time for users to play the missions, and authors to have a bit more time to finalize their missions.

We will hold off on voting until next week too.

    Thank everyone, and good luck!

Just a note, the Foundry is back online. But I do appreciate the extra weekend to polish. ;)

EDIT: Looks like the publishing server isn't working at the moment.

EDIT 2: And publishing is working again...for the moment.

If it is still taking a longer then average time to publish that is ok, you can still enter.

Now that the teams are back from break hopefully any further issues will not be a hindrance to this contest.

I cannot start playing the missions until tomorrow, but I am really looking forward to it! :)

I am playing "Eve of Resolutions" at the moment. Well to be honest right now I am in the loading screen so I would like to take that chance to say that I am impressed by the mapdesign mr. greendragoon. Very well done. I had no idea that you could create such a beautiful city with the foundry.
Anyway. I have go back to the sewer. Feeling like a Ninja Turtle now... ;-)
