Can we please bring these down and leave the skill point output somewhere near where it is please? I mean, I know you guys need to buy time to put out new content and I know you need grinds to make money... I accept that, I think the majority of the community accept that and I think the majority of us would be okay with 90% of the game being monetised in some way, but turning levelling into a grind I think is one step too far... by the time I had ground my main to lvl 56 I was questioning if it's really worth going on, let alone with my alts.
I know one can say Spec points are a reason and this is a valid point but if the rewards for PVE queues were increased such that they were more efficient than DQ patrols, people wouldn't grind them for XP, that said, if XP grinding wasn't needed, people wouldn't do it. As it stands whenever I log in I think to myself "I still have 2 characters I need to get to lvl 60... then I have four to do specializations on", then I look at the XP bar and decide it's just not worth the effort so I'm left to chat to my fleetmates and run the occasional PVE queue. It's at the point now that levelling up, which used to be a joyful occurrence, now it's a case of "Oh, I levelled up, yippie..." which I'm sure is not the reaction you were going for with this.
I too am slightly annoyed that thier supposed xp increase to help ease the grind because they realized the xp amounts for missions were too low. My understanding they were only going to be touching the payouts at the end of missions, now i see that they have upto so you need like 120-130k approximately to level up in some places. This is not ok...and the fact that they haven't even noticed or commented on this is not ok either
It has been pointed out, and a dev definitely saw posts pointing it out. His response indicated pretty clearly that this is how Cryptic wants things to go.

Your understanding was flawed. Not your fault, though - the post they made explaining the change was really badly worded.
The change they made was basically just making all the numbers bigger so you feel like you're gaining more XP as you get more powerful. They then upped the required XP to level in kind, presumably with the intent of having the actual time spent leveling up be the same pre- and post-update.
Obviously this isn't what happened. Somewhere along the line the math was messed up and we've wound up requiring even more XP post-update than we did pre-update. Now they're pulling a Japori and staying silent on the matter. Probably gathering data before they say anything for sure, which isn't necessarily a bad thing in and of itself, but at least they need to tell us they're aware of the complaints and that they're looking into their metrics to see if something really is amiss.
It was a nerf to leveling via doffing plain and simple.
IF that was the intent, at least from my point of view its having the opposite effect. Leveling is SUCH a grind now, that all my chars will primarily level by doffing. Missions don't get much exp, STFs are a ghost town and only activity i see are people grinding patrol missions. FAR to repeatative for me. So I just log on, chat with a few friends/guildmates while doffing, then log out. No need to buy new ships, upgrade gears or craft for that.
I think a lot of people will, if levelling itself remains a grind, it's not exactly a great first impression of the game, especially as you only need to do one PVE run a day to fill rep for 20 hours.
That said, if this is a sign of things to come, well, there's a doom thread for that.
Dono to be honest but this atm is most definitely not sustainable. Ive done all my missions on level 56 (episode and Kobali) and some 10 advanced STF runs and i am nowhere close to the next level and still need somewhere close to 50-60% or around 80.ooo Skill Points.
No not fun at all considering i need a hell of a grind just tto get back to where i was before the update.
I agree with you on leveling grind. I have 12 toons and might play with 3 for any period of time to level them. When I reach a wall because of to low of a level I switch to another toon and it gets annoying fast. Only have 1 toon level 60 and is my main which I'm slowly upgrading gear.

This right here is the only chance we have of getting this fixed. The gap between delta story missions now is yawning. get it? Of course they may say - hey we doubled exp in those patrols now go play them or pound sand.

Well imho they need to try something and they need to do it fast.
This is very bad and its well know not many ppl will have the patience once they realise the grind level, that their gear was made obsolete, their ships made weaker, the zen they donated gone to nothing ...
The exp grind was one thing this game did not need. I was gona read the wall o text that was posted by the staff but it was way to long and confusing to read. This grind level is more then 5 times slower then it was getting from 40-50.

I'm sure Cryptic will read it.
I'm also sure they won't change anything. They've chosen the method of this game's demise.

Wonder how many others will go the same route?
