OK I understand that the amount of work involved in bringing in all the secondary deflectors was too much to fit in with all the other DR changes. But the fact remains that several sci ships do have secondary deflector slots already, so that code is already in the game, and there are two or three secondary deflectors about as well, I have one sitting idly in my bank. Would it really be that hard to put these slots on other sci ships now, even if we don't have many things to put in them?
Cryptic has all hands full nerfing you. They don't have time for secondary deflectors, Fleet Gurambas or other trivial matters.
Now go buy a Dauntless, a DSD or an Intrepid, instead of wasting your time here on the forums!
It's got potential as a pure Sci ship now, but not for the hybrid Sci/Tac ships like the Well's/Mobius.
I think Cryptic need to actually release some damn Secondary deflectors that haven't deteriorated...
Chris Robert's on SC:
"You don't have to do something again and again and again repetitive that doesn't have much challange, that's just a general good gameplay thing."
Target X (1) is useless in pve and if you bring up pvp I am gona laugh at you.
The *only* thing Target X is useful for, is if you need to bring down the CD on a single other beam attack (like BFAW). They're shared. Even then you're probably still better off with a doff to reduce said CD to begin with.
Once they release a few more original T6 Sci ships with secondaries (with probably 90% of them being Fed with one or two tossed over on the Rom and KDF sides), they'll probably begin to release some alternative 2ndary Deflector drops.
After all, can't let those lovely T6s not reach their full potential. In fact, I feel it's quite likely the first new secondary deflector will come on a future Sci ship trio (one for each faction) in Mk XII Very Rare status, lated followed by green and blue secondary deflector drops in a future mission. The delay would be long enough to sell those new ships for both their Mastery trait and their secondary deflector that many have been desperately wanting.
They will be coming; but probably not the way the non-spenders hope.

Isn't automatically having all Beam Target (Tactical?!) powers on every Sci ship enough?
Seriously, some one at Cryptic was a serious Voyagerholic and made sure his favorite ship was OP as much as possible.
Uhm... the Intrepid, even the new one, is much... but not OP.

Shields were kind of left behind with all the level and hull upgrades.
