Hello to everyone, and thanks to Cryptic for atleast trying to make content harder in STO. This guide is to help premade teams compleet ISA and gain high DPS.
I would like to start by pointing out that this guide is mainly directed at the hardcore players in the DPS channels, but this is not to say anyone can't follow it.
Ok so first thing we need to do is make sure we have the correct items/abilitys.
To make this Tut simple please take note of the following key:
Deuterium = DENT
Subspace Field Modulator = SFM
Tactical Fleet 3 = TF
Intelligence Fleet 2 = IF
These are items/abilitys needed in ISA to get the most from your DPS.
Now obviously a build is very important in DPS, But people seem to forget that working as a team and having a game plan before you start can and will push more DPS into the entire team. You also need to follow a good flight plan, and have some idea on when is best to use your abilitys and where. There is no point in hitting all your abilitys at the start, just to spend 8 sec flying to the 2nd cube and wasting an Alpha strike or something important like this. In this Tutorial i will try and explain where is best to use your abilitys and why.
Ok so lets start at the begining, you have made your 5 person team, and are sitting in the Pvt Match window ok as a team you now need to decide between yourselfs the following.
1. Who will do 1st 2nd and 3rd TF/IF
2. Make sure everyone knows WFP ( Wait for Pets ) and does not move until everyone types R in team and the group creator says GO.
So lets explain these a bit more,
1. TF and IF are very powerfull abilitys one giving 37.4% dmg ( 30sec ) and the other giving +15% Shield Pen ( 30sec ) these both are for the Team not just yourself. you need to try and space them out so you as a group are running them almost constantly, if timed correct you all will gain the buffs for 90 secconds and as most ISA's dont last much more than this its basicly always on.
So when i say 1st 2nd and 3rd, im talking about the CUBES. each person will hit the ability when they interact with the cube they are allocated. Obviously there is a 4th CUBE ( Tac cube ) but at this point most players understand to hit all abilitys they have so shouldnt need telling.
2. WFP this is very important for Carriers, as Pets can boots a players DPS anywhere from 3K > 10K DPS, but not just this.. if your on a team with a recluse or something like this, the pets from that player can debuff your targets helping your DPS also. So this is good for the entire team to follow.
Ok so they are explained and your team is ready and everyone knows what they are doing. you now need to think where is best to use your other abilitys. The one problem people get in ISA is unlike ISE getting GDF is much harder on the 1st Cube. Now lots of people have ideas on how to do this but i like Felisean's way best. When attacking the 1st cube ( with no abilitys Active, unless your 1st TF/IF ) you want to take it on from the right hand side, moving slow to left. if your team is powerfull the cube should die fast, because you at this point are attacking all ships your shields should have taken considerble dmg if not been totaly taken down. just before the cube blows you need to hit the SFM this will give you a +34 dmg res, its not enough to totaly protect you but it should stop you from blowing up ( remember dont sit right ontop of the cube, and Crits sometimes happen ). Now with any luck the explosion would have taken your hull down to around 5/10% giving you a perfect GDF. I would like to also say that IF you are going for this perfect run, please tell the team and maybe consider warping and reforming if you or more players die.
So we now have a 5% GDF, your next task is to move to the left side placing yourself between the gate and the Transformer. While your here you should be using the following Abilitys: Alpha Strike, DEM, Red Matter Capacitor ( if you have one ). The left side should fall Very fast this is where you need to move Fast. Using DENT move to the cluster of Spheres quick ( while still under Alpha Strike ) and hit Refracting Tetryon Cascade ( if all do this the Spheres should die almost instantly ). now still under DENT move to the right side moving to the same place, between the Gate and the Transformer killing this side. This is where taking dmg is important as you need your hull to be bellow 50% when this side dies. Once the Right side is dead you now need to move inbetween the TAC Cube and the Gate, using Fire on my Mark 3 on the gate. As your hull is bellow 50% you can now activate Fleet Support 3 This will add anywhere from 6>10K DPS.
At this point your Alpha and DEM should be back up, Hit them both and Quantum Singularity Manlipulation and Weapons Battery and Attack everything. Make sure you dont fly from between them try and stay there until the gate is dead.
This game plan should maximize your DPS in an ISA and also make it simple for the team.
Hope this helps.
DPS Channels
BTW if you dont like this, and think it takes the fun out of it.. DONT do it im not intrested in people ********, if you have better idea's or creative input im happy to liten.
Thanks for the Questions, forgot to add about Fleet Support.. Now added
Just a point of clarification, before anyone makes an issue of it, not everyone in the DPS channels support the use of recluses to shamelessly pad DPS.
For that matter, if anyone comes on one of my runs with a recluse, I will politely ask them to unequip their pets, and remove their console.

Surely running ISA with like ships all buffing each other at exactly the right times is padding and inflating DPS anyway ? So why not pad it a little more ?
It's not like it's a measure of pure and constant DPS, just fun to see how high you can get it as a group.
I enjoy it myself but have not yet had the fortune to run with a couple of recluses in the team. I understand they are pre made with the intention of getting the highest numbers anyway.
That is pretty much all ISA is for since it's boring anyway and over in around 2 mins :P

"Pad DPS" LOL. Noobs who think that FAW does not contribute to killing things....There is only one structure that regenerates in ISE, unless you are parking near the gate.... Very few FAW shots are wasted...

Hey alfie you do know that I've seen more debuffing in runs with just IF, APB1, and [Pen] weapons than in runs with two recluses, right?

I guess since GDF is already in use or used, he means its to summon fleet support, which can be quite strong. If not, I dont see a benefit in this.
But calling fleet support is also very helpful.
I only have one question: Where does the N in "DENT" come from?

Tacs are overrated.
