lol **** that... 2 months to hit 60... SWTOR is quicker than that.
Its not bad at all really. Of course end game is now level 110. 60 is just the start of the actual grind.
hmmm well that sort of explains Cryptics thinking.
Works out to what One Year + 2 weeks. So a one year grind + a 2 week vacation. I hear in most places its not legal to not at least give your employees 2 weeks off in a year.
lol **** that... 2 months to hit 60... SWTOR is quicker than that.
well, why am I in need of a hurry? the next Event will be in weeks and the next bigger Update in half a year or longer. what should I do in the meantime?
what's the point of running through content within 1-2 weeks? this is not a race and the rewards will be the same.
they neither said ALL players nor did they ever mention names. it was said "some" players out of thousands.
the nerf bait hit us all hard, yes, sure. but this "they call me a cheater" was brought up by players who ran hot.
We all did it. We're all "exploiters"
Just give us back our lovely XP so we can cry our way through the other grinds ( Delta, Omega, Tholian , Romulan, Undine, Dyson, Dilithium, Specilization, Winter Race.)

it is a video game... you cant even touch the things in there.
everyone takes this so over-seriously. I have most reputations done and it took me longer because I didnt force myself to play. And I am still happy.
there are things in this world more important than this.
I've gotten two toons to 60 so far (in actuality 65 and 61) and I'm at level 58 with another, I haven't touched my fourth as yet. I basically did this as most have, through the story arc, then when I hit the wall before I could run the next mission running patrols, story repeats, DOFFing and STF's.
I've been at it a few hours a day (minus a week off for surgery) since DR dropped and I can live with my progress so far. Watching others with more time or cash to spend zip by has been somewhat frustrating but with the new season and the amount of ships I have to upgrade and kit out, (as well as everything else), made me step back and re-evaluate the speed at which I can do things now.
But its all an investment, once Ive gotten a couple of ships fully tricked out I should be getting through elites and getting the funds to make life easier and levelling faster.
Levelling is slow after 50, but once you get stuck into it, it doesn't take all THAT long to hit 60.
Its what comes after....
"If this will be our end, then I will have them make SUCH an end as to be worthy of rememberance! Out of torpedos you say?! Find me the ferengi!".
Why do people keep wanting to max out as fast as possible, enjoy the game and play it through.
Because there is no game to play, just a couple of time-padded missions. The rest is trying out the various powers in various combinations to see which ones you enjoy using before trying a different combo, but to do that you need access to them. Furthermore, for anyone that intends to get into serious pseudo-raiding or PVP or anything like that, maxed-out is the starting point. Lastly, if you have alts, which until last month this game supported quite well, you want to play the story once maybe twice, and then you just want to be done so you can tinker. There is little incentive, as a player, to replay the same content over and over and over again. Its a video game; we're here for entertainment not work.
Why do people keep wanting to max out as fast as possible, enjoy the game and play it through.
Theres no way to "enjoy" repetetive grind.
Playing each mission once is enjoyable, playing em a second time can be sort-of enjoyable too especially if theres optionals that branch a bit like in the sun-station mission, however once you seen it all a few times theres nothing to enjoy anymore it gets old and boring quick. The way how they set this up it is even for just ONE TOON a huge boring and mind numbing grind. Imagine grinding it again on a bunch of alts.
If they would want it to be fun it would be 1 mission = 1 level and they woulda made spec points account wide, like you gain 1 spec point on any of your toons, you can spend it on all of your maxed toons so you'd only look at gaining 10 levels on each toon and 50 more or something account-wide to max out, rather then gaining 60 on each toon.
And to answer "why do people keep wanting to max out as fast as possible".. for some people the real endgame in this game is pvp and pvp is something to do after maxing out on gear and levels.. to have a chance to be competitive you need to be on par with gear and levels, its a basic requirement.
Seriously, I would LOVE to see a livestream with Smirk or whatever leveling a character from 50 to 60. No dev cheats, no uncompleted missions before DR arc (like the vast majority of lvl50 when DR hit).
Even a livestream serie. I really want to see them make XP for those level gap. Doing argala 10-20times every time.
Why do people keep wanting to max out as fast as possible, enjoy the game and play it through.
Maybe that's just me, but I don't find grinding patrol missions over and over, just to unlock... patrol missions really fun. Especially when I need to do that with every level.
Sometimes I feel lucky, I unlock a story mission between the patrols.
I too have noticed Doff missions seem to do the trick. I'm currently doing the whole doff mission thing on my other toons in the explores because I don't want CXP honestly for anything.
My main finished out the diplomacy thing though while leveling so I'm max diplo now which was nice and this was before and after the patrol nerf (which I had no idea about until it was too late).
Ah I was wondering why leveling seemed to be a little slower after 50. Not by much though. I always use Doff missions to farm resources for crafting and sme dil. Between that and the replays to fully deck out my main ship with current tier gear it still feels ok so far.
Play on elite, Defeat enemies, while DOFFs work in ther background, Done
I'm actually regretting playing Elite since I normally prefer slower leveling, but hey the game doesn't do demotions so I'm stuck now

I have 8 toons. All of em are level 60+. How did I do that?
- Rough estimation from felt progression -
- Doff system (stationed toons in delta cuz of skill point rewarding assignments there; logging 2 times/day): 70%
- Miserable Argala system patrol: 20%
- Playing story contend (good job Taco): 5%
- Playing broken PvE endgame: 4%
- Mirror Universe Incursion: 1%
Considering that levelling used to be recreational fun in this game the step from 50-60 with DR is one of the most annoying game experiences I ever had.

Don't. Don't level at all. There is no new endgame content at 60 you can't do at 50, except 1 elite only STF. The only reason to level is to do the delta story, and that is only worth it 1 time through, if that. Everything is exactly what we were doing at 50.

This is what I am wondering too? What can you do at 60 that you cannot do at 50? Reputations, flying T5U or T6 ships? I can only see some story missions that have 50+ level requirements. So my old argument still stands, we never, ever needed those 10 levels.
I am not a negative person. Last friday I started a new character, Romulan/Fed tac. The next monday I hit level 50. I did story missions and a couple of patrols and got to fifty with the mission Everything old is new. I have a lot of story missions to do, Cardasian, Borg, Breen etc. This made me think, I will easy get to 60, but I have doubts.
All this missions, plus the new Deltra missions should be enough to get me to sixty, what is the point of getting stuck at 57 or 58?

you do it very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very slowly!
yep that is 17x the very
1 Week = 1 Level
doesnt take more than 10 minutes
lol **** that... 2 months to hit 60... SWTOR is quicker than that.
At least you're doing it your way and not how they want you to do it.
Bit like 1984: the only way to win is to not let them change you! :P

One does not enjoy the game when there are multiple grinds taking stupidly long times to complete.

There was a lot of truth in this until today. The update to the XP requirements for leveling with just doff assignments makes this less likely.
Thank GOD I leveled my toons before the 'realignment'.
