Please let us customize special BOff appearance

I am so tired of looking at Nelen Exil, the special BOff reward from the Dyson rep in his Voth outfit.

He defected from the Voth and joined MY crew. He is not a Voth officer anymore so I should be able to put him in another uniform if I want to!

Nelen uses a pretty standard humanoid model other than the head and his hands, so it can't be that hard to give players access to customization options.

I can understand if the devs want to "lock" his head and body shape so we can't change those, but we should have the option to put him in the same uniform that all my other BOffs wear.

On that note, the same goes for other special BOffs like the enemy faction BOff from the diplomacy system and the Liberated Borg Romulan Science Officer from the Lobi store ... those toons can be customized but only with the enemy faction uniforms. That's a mistake. If they defected and are part of my crew then they should wear ANY uniform that I tell them to wear.
In the immortal words of Captain Sisko: "It may not be what you believe, but that doesn't make it wrong."

Don't believe the lies in this forum. I am NOT an ARC user. I play STO on Steam or not at all.

Totally agreed. One of reasons I let my Nelen Exil sit in the Candidate roster is, because I can't customize him at all. I don't want to have a clone running around. Also, most people try to theme their BOFF's to fit certain style, ie uniforms. I have the same gripe with the Lobi Store Romulan BOFF - can't give her Starfleet uniform, and it is quite disappointing. There's really no logical reason for these things...

As a Fed, I worked hard for my Orion BOff, so I was disappointed in this as well.

If Cryptic allows this, I'd be a more happy camper.

Something I've noticed about the Lobi Borg Romulan is that she can't use the full Romulan wardrobe either (stuff like the Republic and allied faction gear). You're stuck with the beat-up old civilian rags, unless you buy her a winter coat.

    Please? Marauding Boffs in particular.

At least they have more than the Marauding Boffs. They can't be customized at all. :(

Still I want to put my orion in her starfleet regs.

Im sick of boff u cant change the look of thing is people have complained for time about it n what do there do add a other as the T5 dyson reward. To me there are saying like it or lump it, its not going to change there just going to keep adding more thinggs that u carnt change. More ship more doff because the dev have turned lazy thats what i think any way.

I agree wholeheartedly. For a game with so much customization these exceptions stand out like a sore thumb. However I also understand that the developers wish to maintain a certain level of integrity in the story line. I just don't think that giving us a few more costume options, or even just the ability to change the clothings color scheme compromises that.

    Please, please fix this.

Actually, I was able to put my Lobi LibBorg Romulan in the Republic Long Coat and Thigh-high Boots along with Republic Pants. But no access to any other Republic Uniforms.

We ask, and ask, and ask, and ask. They don't answer. It's either because they have no intention of enabling this [what would be wonderful] feature, or they simply do not have the time and resources (in which case, I'd rather them not have bothered in the first place).

Then for once they make one customizable (the hierarchy boff) and suddenly its "bug not feature".

Come on guys, this would be a great quality of life improvement. I like my crew's uniforms uniform.
