I dunno if has been mentioned before (the serch doesnt work.. dunno why), but it would be more practical to have a pool of refined dilithium for the entire account?
Its similar to Diablo 3 gold and chest, that no mater how many characters you have, the gold is added to a universal pool.
I mean, that would be one less bit of data that the database need to track individually, isnt?
All my refined dilithium would be available, from all my chars... instead of using the Exchange for that...
The cap can keep been per char,, no problem with that, but refined?, its impractical, dont you think?
I see a problem with this. If you have an account pool for raw dilithium, and have each character refine 8000 max, players can just refine on one character, transfer it over to another, delete character, create new one, refine again, and transfer.

As i mentioned in my post, i do that, but is an unecessary step , my suggestion is a QoL one... along with the one that ask to put an alert once an upgrade is ready, like the inventory button flashing...
If this were the case, would you live with an account-wide refine limit of 24,000, maybe 32,000? I think new silvers get 3x characters now (one per faction), and golds still have their +1...
I think this has been said before, by the Devs. Account wide limit would require an matching, arbitrary and relatively low-ish, account wide limit...
Detecting big-time "anti-old-school" bias here. NX? Lobi. TOS/TMP Connie? Super-promotion-box. (aka the two hardest ways to get ships) Excelsior & all 3 TNG "big hero" ships? C-Store. Please Equalize...

Refining & deleting is just dumb. Make an alt, earn more, refine it, then transfer it. Deletion why? 1 main & 2 alts is about all anyone can run these days because of the recent changes, but deletion is seriously not required. At all.
AFAIK, there is no limit on refined dilithium, i have 12 chars, and 8000 ref Dilithium each.. but to get all in one pool, i have to go to the Exchange on EACH char... its annoying, to say the least... it would be more practical, after refining to have all your dilithium available for anything you want
Dilithium might as well be treated the same as EC. Frankly, I think all currencies should be account pooled. That would finally be a point in favor of the new hotness.
It seems most of this would be theoretically solved with a couple of steps:
1) Make the account bank able to take raw unrefined dilithium.
2) Replace the dilithium refinement cap with one tied to number of character slots. (Ie. creating and deleting won't provide an advantage.) This actually benefits people with multiple character slots even if they just play one of them.
3) However, to offset how crazy this could get with someone who has 40+ character slots, make it so that the increased cap from each alt is "locked" until you play that alt.
So for example, your account refinement cap might now be 2000 (account base) + 250 * Number of Character Slots owned.
And each character you play for more than one hour per day unlocks an extra 5750 refinement potential on your account.
This might mean someone with a TON of alt slots might gain some refinement potential but that actually is incentive to spend on alt slots at least.
Because it's based on slots, creating and deleting characters would have no impact on it.

I've never heard of this being the case, nor has it ever happened on my account.
for the extra 1000 dil refine you need to go visit the vet refiner person at either of the academys or new romulus command
Just when you thought it would be as easy as getting the extra 1000 refine cap as buying lifetime, afraid not.
you can pool refined dil via the exchange... min or so of work on each toon.
but a pool for unrefined can be exploited and will never happen unless they make it so only max level toons can have access to it. that will eliminate the potential for abuse by deleting and creating a new toon to get around the daily cap.
OP suggests an account-wide pool for refined dilithium, 90% respond with the problems of an account-wide pool for unrefined dilithium. I see that reading and comprehension are at their usual forum standards.

It would be pointless to discuss that. It's not poor comprehension. It's deliberate thread drift.
I can see where you are coming from with this but I see unnecessary complications for some players, you may well have lots of alts that you use to farm dilithium so you can give it all to one or two main characters and this would save you the daily hassle of having to use the exchange to transfer the dilithium.
I have 3 characters but play them all as mains, if my fed gets dilithium I use it for stuff he needs if my klink gets dilithium I use it for what he needs.
creating a central pool would cause confusion, I might overspend on my fed and my Klingon or rom would suffer as a consequence.
I can always on the odd occasion transfer dilithium through the exchange to a character say my fed if my rom or klink have plenty and there is nothing I need to use it for on them at that time or vice versa.
I prefer to keep refined dilithium separate to each of my characters and I am sure there are some other players who feel the same.
what you suggest is just adding unrequired work for the devs to add a function that you can easily do for yourself when they have much more important work to do fixing bugs that bother players much more then the occational trip to the dil exchange.
When I think about everything we've been through together,
maybe it's not the destination that matters, maybe it's the journey,
and if that journey takes a little longer,
so we can do something we all believe in,
I can't think of any place I'd rather be or any people I'd rather be with.

Easily get around the 8000 max limit

Its not for raw dilithim, only for refined..
As i mentioned in my post, i do that, but is an unecessary step , my suggestion is a QoL one... along with the one that ask to put an alert once an upgrade is ready, like the inventory button flashing...
Then your less likely to just refine and delete as has been suggested could be the case.
As i said... its only for refined dilithium, raw dilithium stays per char.. thanks!

Or get a lifetime subscription account. In addition to raising your daily per toon to 9K, dil automatically refines while your offline.
