While I am happy that they have come out with a tier 6 intrepid. There is a slight problem with it. The console slots. In the current tier 5 fleet version there are 3 tact, 4 sci, and 3 eng. When upgraded to t5u you get 1 more sci slot. In the new tier 6 you get 2 tact, 5 sci, and 3 eng. That doesn't make sense. So if you get this ship and already have the fleet ship you lose a tact slot. Seriously? Does cryptic not know what there own ships console layouts are I mean really? Maybe they will add a tact slot when they come out with a fleet version? Cause I am not going to get the ship if I lose a tact slot. I mean the ship is already on the weak side when it comes to dmg and losing a slot to up it, is just plain stupid.

Guess what the Tier 6 Fleet version of the ship will have as extra console slot...
Star Trek Online Advancement: You start with lowbie gear, you end with Lobi gear.
Not secret info...been around since they announced it all.
No idea why it wouldn't make sense to you...
So in other words your saying that IF they come out with a fleet t6 version, it will probably have the extra tact console?
And it doesn't make sense because the tier 6 ships are suppose to be better then the t5 and t5u, and losing a console slot doesn't make the vessel stronger it weakens it.
I will wait and see for when they start to come out with the fleet t6 ships though before even thinking about getting a t6.

The claim is that Tier 5 Upgrades are not obsolete, that means they can't be much worse than Tier 6 ships, otherwise they are obsolete.
Also, the Tier 6 version has an extra bridge officer power and access to intel powers.

I think you can be pretty sure it gets one. Current tier 6 lobi/lock box ships have it as well. You will just likely to need to buy a fleet module then so expect further costs.
Depending how big of a Voyager fan you are and if u need this limited time buy option, there is of course no reason not to wait and see which 11th console slot will be added when Tier 6 fleet is released for it.

It's an obvious ploy to make the Fleet T6 version of said ship, which will likely have a third tactical console slot, more appealing.
I hope you're right.
Still, releasing a T6 ship with only 2 Tact Consoles?! Like the Vesta and its T5-U, it should get an extra Sci Console when going Fleet. Now they basically gimped it to where you'll abaolutely need the Fleet version.
Really hoping they're selling the new Intrepid bridge pack separately.
For the life of me, I'm having a difficult time understanding why anybody would want a 3rd Tac Console on the Pathfinder...I mean, sure, in the end it wouldn't matter - but that it matters to some folks just blows my mind.

Well, now you can do only 2 things with it: drain boat or R-TBR thingy. In either case, those 2 Tact Consoles aren't really helping. So, either release a Science ship with NO Tact Consoles (that would be fun, like 7 Sci Consoles), or something you can actually use.

A third Tac console won't change what you can do with that ship...

Quite possibly because the idea of ships with 2 Tac consoles should have been left behind ... around Season 7 , when Fleet ships showed up .
The idea that they are still paddling new ships with those stats is akin to the "popular" single Ensign stations on various ships that had little to no use unless they were Universal .
Plus the idea that we all know that they will offer you the chance to "buy back" that lost console in the T6 Fleet version is just an added insult to the 3000 Zen injury ... .
... is this one of those "you were going for irony and I missed it" things ?
'Cuz I can't believe this stuff needs explaining to a vet sto player ...

Tac Consoles are the holy thing that makes any s hip good. Even if it only comes with 6 weapon slots to begin with, can't use canons, and is loaded with non-weapon affecting BO powers.

People need to realize that on a science ship you want as much as science console slots as you'd want tactical ones on an escort-type.
The whole - "we want a 5 tac.consoles and 5 fwd weapons ship" from tacs to science should translate as "we want 5 sci.consoles and a secondary deflector".
It needs a secondary deflector, it needs more power for the science abilities as currently no science ship can hold a candle to any decent damage oriented battlecruiser or escort.
It maybe a model detail upgrade but the Science capabilities are still short of what's needed to make the ship really useful. A T5-U Well's class will still kick it's behind into next week...

Be curious to see you elaborate on how you came to that conclusion...
Don't know why we need so many threads on the same subject, but nonetheless - nothing will change regarding this. Cryptic do not listen to our feedback and wouldn't act on it if they did.
If they don't sell it, they will change it !! Its all about the $$$$

They actually do listen to our feedback on here. The biggest problem is stuff like this, the ship is already completed, so they can't make changes. Take the events for example, you can talk about all the stuff you want for the winter event, but nothing will change since everything is pretty much completed, but if there are new things or changes you want them to do for the summer event, now is the time to start talking about the stuff
Cryptic is suppose to offer items for sale to make money.
They could have made a boatload if they put four( or three) TAC consoles on the new one.
Like your going to pop in an Elite STF and be uber a Borg Killer with two.
You can still do alright with two. The C-Store standard Galaxy only has two, and The reigning leader of the DPS leaderboards took it to 45k. I'm sure that the ship will do just fine with elites. Just be smart with the build and don't mix energy types

It's probably some of the most obvious stuff in game. And makes perfect sense lol

The numbers were skewed because his teammates boosted his numbers with pattern beta stacks. The ship by itself stinks. I'd like to see them do those same runs with 3 or 4 galaxies or nx's. Nice try. A good ship does not a bad ship make.

Well the beta does help, without it, it'd only drop the final count just a little probably 35-40k on the standard Galaxy. Yea, the ship really isn't that great, but this just goes to show, by and large, it's the player, not the ship. The point is still valid, however. All I'm saying is that the ship will be still viable in elite queues, and i believe that it will be. It might not be doing record DPS, but it's still capable of completing the queues with no problem.
Without being buffed by teammates (in the NX challenge), he took The NX class to 17k. Just check the video they made.

With a useful Secondary Deflector too? Or just like the Dauntlesses useless, statless thing?

Such TRIBBLE saying stuff like so and so did x DPS.
How about you buy the ship and fly it as your main.
That is exactly what people will do and expect to get x DPS.
Let me know two more months from now, how all that works out.
FYI: We all should know that in a normal pug group that super high DPS is not possible.
I'm not saying the ship will be doing X DPS, what I'm saying is that the ship will be capable of a decent amount of the afore mentioned. And it certainly doesn't take months to get numbers, except the super high numbers (50k+). I agree, it's not really possible to get SUPER high numbers in a pug group, but it is possible to get high numbers in one of those groups. I was using that as an example to say that the ship is DPS capable, and the fact that it's slots being 2, not 3 like you were talking about, and saying that it won't be able to steamroll Borg. I'm just saying that in the right hands, it will be able to easily steamroll borg.

It's a six weapon boat with a Lt Tac...
It's not a Vesta, Dyson, Wells, or even a Nova or D'Kyr, Nebula, etc, etc.
It's a Deep Space with a 13th BOFF ability.

Amazing!
It's still a flying rowboat. How much appeal is it going to have regardless?
