No no it doesn't. You have to elaborate.

    Lemme try!

    YO !JORF!

David Garibaldi can't hold a steady beat. Charly Watts is and always will be the greatest. Tony Williams is nothing but dilettante noise no real pre-made level player would kirk it like him and expect to win.

That's quite the paradox, how could you nerf nerf when the nerf is nerfed. But how would the nerf be nerfed when the nerf is nerfed? This allows the nerf not to be nerfed since the nerf is nerfed? But if the nerf isn't nerfed, it could still nerf nerfs. But as soon as the nerf is nerfed, the nerf power is lost. So paradoxally it the nerf nerf lost its nerf, while it's still nerfed, which cannot be because the nerf was unable to nerf.

I call it, the Stoutes paradox.

iits because most pvpers first reaction to adversity isn't to whine on the forums.. it's to find a way to win.

But somethings need addressing eventually - arc isnt going to change but it's important we make our voice heard.

So don't give in to despair. There is hope yet, while courage & the desire to GitGud via practice over $$ remains with us.

So don't give in to despair.

Aye mate. Aye. And with that thought I would like to share two of the most inspiring moments of my life.

    The Great Dictator, Charlie Chaplin

    Transcript:

"I’m sorry, but I don’t want to be an emperor. That’s not my business. I don’t want to rule or conquer anyone. I should like to help everyone - if possible - Jew, Gentile - black man - white. We all want to help one another. Human beings are like that. We want to live by each other’s happiness - not by each other’s misery. We don’t want to hate and despise one another. In this world there is room for everyone. And the good earth is rich and can provide for everyone. The way of life can be free and beautiful, but we have lost the way.

Greed has poisoned men’s souls, has barricaded the world with hate, has goose-stepped us into misery and bloodshed. We have developed speed, but we have shut ourselves in. Machinery that gives abundance has left us in want. Our knowledge has made us cynical. Our cleverness, hard and unkind. We think too much and feel too little. More than machinery we need humanity. More than cleverness we need kindness and gentleness. Without these qualities, life will be violent and all will be lost....

The aeroplane and the radio have brought us closer together. The very nature of these inventions cries out for the goodness in men - cries out for universal brotherhood - for the unity of us all. Even now my voice is reaching millions throughout the world - millions of despairing men, women, and little children - victims of a system that makes men torture and imprison innocent people.

To those who can hear me, I say - do not despair. The misery that is now upon us is but the passing of greed - the bitterness of men who fear the way of human progress. The hate of men will pass, and dictators die, and the power they took from the people will return to the people. And so long as men die, liberty will never perish. .....

Soldiers! don’t give yourselves to brutes - men who despise you - enslave you - who regiment your lives - tell you what to do - what to think and what to feel! Who drill you - diet you - treat you like cattle, use you as cannon fodder. Don’t give yourselves to these unnatural men - machine men with machine minds and machine hearts! You are not machines! You are not cattle! You are men! You have the love of humanity in your hearts! You don’t hate! Only the unloved hate - the unloved and the unnatural! Soldiers! Don’t fight for slavery! Fight for liberty!

In the 17th Chapter of St Luke it is written: “the Kingdom of God is within man” - not one man nor a group of men, but in all men! In you! You, the people have the power - the power to create machines. The power to create happiness! You, the people, have the power to make this life free and beautiful, to make this life a wonderful adventure.

Then - in the name of democracy - let us use that power - let us all unite. Let us fight for a new world - a decent world that will give men a chance to work - that will give youth a future and old age a security. By the promise of these things, brutes have risen to power. But they lie! They do not fulfil that promise. They never will!

Dictators free themselves but they enslave the people! Now let us fight to fulfil that promise! Let us fight to free the world - to do away with national barriers - to do away with greed, with hate and intolerance. Let us fight for a world of reason, a world where science and progress will lead to all men’s happiness. Soldiers! in the name of democracy, let us all unite!"

    Our Deepest Fear, Marianne Williamson

"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others"

Cheers to my friends and foes alike.

I was actually sent this by [REDACTED] in a private message:

"I've read the dossiers on these Developers. There's no Kirk. There's no Picard. They barely have a Geordi. Stop playing their game."

Or maybe it was written on a napkin somewhere.

Well, it'll be alive in probably a month or two, whenever Smirk get around to posting my VPvP blog. I'll get a kick out of the haphazard smattering of confused posts wondering where it is, only for people to realize it already met its demise thanks to DR. It'll look great for Cryptic/PWE, y'know, advertising for stuff that they already killed.
I ask nothing but that you remember me.

Well even if you aren't around you should at least leave the channel up and perhaps make it public. If anything we might be able to garner up some gpvp interest from the blog.

I don't want to sound negative all the time. Just thought I had to say it. We had a blog for the Tyler Durden channel as well. Honestly didn't really do anything. The pve kids don't really care what we do pvp wise, there not interested.

Don't want to sound negative on it... but a few blogs talking about pvp anything is never going to do much. For any of the non pvp players to care Cryptic would need to overhaul it add a bunch of new stuff and add a ton of incentives. (they we would get to read endless forum posts about how horrible it is that Cryptic is forcing them to pvp to everything the game owes them).

That's why I say a haphazard smattering. VPvP was supposed to make it accessible to all, but you can thank DR for tossing that out the window.

Besides forcing people to grind another toon to 50 I really don't see the inconvenience. I would hesitate to say DR killed space vpvp as much as I would say the leftover playerbase just either is afraid to vpvp or they won't grind the easy grind of another 50 toon. I specifically made a new toon for vpvp space but the lack of matches has forced me to turn it into a semi real pvp toon. Meaning I won't bother trying to fully grind it to the max. Just something I can functionally pug in without getting one shot before the first firing cycle ends. Basically something to do since ground pvp is TOTALLY dead now. I have 2 matches at level 60 ground pvp so far since DR launch.

I was like you a week ago... I thought VPvP could still be saved, that it was still alive and okay. But then I had a Wrath of Khan "He's dead already!" moment, and I knew it was over. Ever wonder why there's a lack of matches? I failed to save VPvP from being killed by DR, but there was really nothing I could do.

I don't see how you actually failed the channel still exists people can still make the choice to have next to no grind and have some competitive pvp in a matter of days or they can continue to fed the craptic machine only to realize their final end build is basically just good for trolling. You know there won't be anymore unlimited max rank tourneys or leagues ever. Top level pvp is basically just trolling nothing more. More accurately for most of us it will be indirect unintentional trolling though.

If the blog had been published a month ago, things would've been different. Things would be a lot better now, had that blog gone up a month ago.

Edit: and I feel like I failed the PvP community, my idea to bring it together and grow it also died. So now the community will die out, bickering amongst itself.

I'm pretty sure your VPvp channel died out cause it was a private channel. :/

If it were made un-exclusive it might work. You can't expect a private channel where only you have admin rights to work IMO.

think you got your answer on how many people want to fight vpvp style
Thats wrong. A channel with custom-built toons is going to have a very tight threshold. Speaking for myself, I am not interested in present STO enough to make a toon just for VPVP channel, in fact grinding up a low-level toon for it would go against my boycott against spending unnecessary time in STO, so I never even asked for an invite, and I'm sure I'm not the only one.

If it were a selectable combat mode that put everybody on equal footing, I'm sure it would draw a much larger crowd.

I am of the belief that a good high percentage of the space pvp population simply won't do vpvp because it's a more balanced fair ruleset than max level pvp. They don't want to give up the opness or cheese crutches they have :).

LOL, so you told me im wrong for saying "who really is interested in playing vpvp style" and then went on to say that you and many others are not interested in playing vpvp style

sorry, made me laugh out loud is all:)

I don't think you read what he was saying.

He was saying he was very interested in vPvP.. however due to Cryptic being in general a terrible developer. He will not sit down for 5 or 6 hours to grind a toon to 50 just to do it.

If cryptic didn't suck and offered a removed from PvE creep proper Mostly balanced form of PvP like most good theme park developers do. He would be in.

Also yes you are mostly wrong. IF Cryptic was to do a proper "vanilla" style pvp mode like aNet does with GW... or at least a proper balancing system of any kind that you find in theme parks like Rift and TOR... no doubt plenty of people would play.

Myself I don't really care not sure why I still check the forums honestly. ;) I'm resubed to tor for a few months I'll play there new pve and leave... and after that I don't know ED likely... and if that isn't everything I hope I think EVE is more attractive then STO at this point.

imo no community-only driven playmode or inititative (see bootcamp) will survive in the long run. it has to be setable in a matchs' setup. it got to be coded and implemented into the game or it will estinguish like all the approaches before. a bit sceptical, i know. even more due to the fact cryptic.... i'll be silent now
