loot system

I honestly don't understand why this game even has a drop system like it does i would rather they just give every one, loot gained from every mission in one big recovered assets bag at the end of any pve( basically when ever you quit...) Just have the system take into account all the dropped loot you might have gotten in the mission..

But to also have a recycle all button on the bag, which recycles all the recyclable items and destroys the rest, of course have a warning for new players.

Becuase its hard for me to remember to go back and get things i missed when i was flying my whale unable to turn and get them before I have to move on to the next objective...

I know this is probably just lazy of me but, the normal mmo loot system still feels wrong in sto. But if my officer presented me with some usable assets recovered from battle it would feel more in place...

Especially since the normal style mmo loot system doesn't even do what other mmo's do aka dungeon's and raids are were the good loot is at. In this game we have the rep system and fleet system for that....

    Auto Recycle button???

I don't know about you, but almost all of my alternate gear in my bag, kits, spare rifles, alternate torpedo loadouts, spare shields etc, are considered "recyclable" some of these are either starbase grind or rep grind, and thus very very expensive to reclaim if you TRIBBLE up. Not to mention that the recycle button only gives you 40% of listed price, while most vendors will give you 50%. And some rare items you can sell on the exchange for 200%-5000% profit. All of which you lose out on if you pitch it into the matter reclaimer.

I would NEVER use such a button.

As for the Looting, I do believe there is an in-game option to turn on "autoloot" so that whenever you are within range of a drop, your crew beams it onboard. Check the game settings under the esc menu. And the loot bags at the end of STFs now drop on top of you (given that you are alive at the end).

Also, if you are stuck at the end of the mission and think you missed a drop, scan for it. Your "v" scan shows loot drops as well.

I think you pretty much have already summed up the shortcomings of your suggestion.

Personally I wouldn't mind AOE looting, no rolls because everyone should get their own loot that no one else can roll on, and autoloot should function without pressing an extra button. Like this game needs another button. yeah.

I would love a true "auto-loot" (I don't have to press any keys to loot). I don't mind rolling for it, but it would be nice to have "individual loot bag" I know the system exist because of STF and mirror that you can have your own loot bag and team loot bag.
To grow old is inevitable, to grow up is optional.
Please review my campaign and I'll return the favor.

Ok I don't think people are understand what I meant by the recycle button, it wouldn't recycle anything in your inventory, basically at the end of any pve event based on what you and how many mobs killed would be put away into a virtual bag for that mission event stf etc....

When you exit the event one of your officer probably the one you have set to operations or security. Will open up a dialog with another inventory of the stuff found in that mission, you can press take all or pull one by one into your inventory or press recycle.

While I admit to being lazy abit, looting is just tedious and doesn't feel in place when your flying around blowing up borg or tholians..... It takes me out of star trek. If looting ranges in space were greater I wouldn't have as much trouble grabbing stuff with my whale....

Also I do know what recycle does its just option for people who don't wish to sell at starbase etc, I likely would use it all to often unless I don't have room in my inventory and don't wish to return to starbase. To sell on exchange or otherwise.

This is all that is required IMO!

The auto-loot system is pretty bad and requires far too much mashing of the "F" key.

Cryptic coded exactly this into city of heroes already, and the code exists in both champions and sto as well, check marks or dil at the end of colony defense as an example, no popup to acknowledge, just boom, right into your inventory. Also, round robin gives everyone their own loot with no need/greed rolls. In NW they had issues with the loot objects making enemies invisible by being so numerous the engine couldn't draw everything, so they removed some loot critters and made the loot go directly to inventory via a popup window.

I'd consider this stuff a great quality of life change
