That darned elusive R&D doff

Well, there I was. I had worked myself painstakingly up to level 15 in ground crafting and was ready to craft my first TR-116 only to find out that although I have several purple assault spec doffs, I'm missing whatever doff I need to craft that particular piece of equipment. Does anyone know where to find this doff? I don't have the ec to buy it from the exchange, if there is even one there, and I have opened a few Delta lockboxes and have done the R&D assistance doff mission at the Academy to the point of near insanity but with no luck . Is this doff hiding somewhere? Help, I've fallen, and I can't get up!

    Hope this helps' you out. You can get the special R&D Doff's from the Xindi Lockbox. Also here is link on which Doff that you might need for both Fed or KDF faction below.

    This is an extreme downside of the crafting system in my opinion. I was expecting more sources of R&D doffs by this point and I have yet to see them. I have 3 schools at lvl 15 and I can't do any special projects until getting these doffs is more feasible.

    At this point, it seems the dev team has forgotten about all the shortcomings of the R&D system and moved on.

    Ground weapons new crafting mods? Still broken, not appearing.
    More R&D doffs added into the normal doff farming channels? Nope, still stuck with R&D assistance white doffs and the purple lockbox ones.

    Unfortunately it's getting left behind like poor New Romulus which never got its Reman section, or the Voth section of the sphere which got turned into an Undine BZ therefore breaking the 3 spires accolades.

    Xindi Lockbox, I hope people haven't wasted too many keys on Voth Lockboxes as you suggested.
