Excel Fleet Variant T5U

Hey Captains..

Our Starbase just hit Level 3 ship yards, and now able to get the Excel Fleet variant. Now I know I need to spend some Zen for a module... but will I have to Spend more Zen to get it to the T-5U?

I already spent for the T5 Upgrade of my "Reg" Excel Refit. (If so, got to be one of the most expensive ships out there, and I should just buy a T6 at this point)

    If you already upgraded the Non Fleet version to T5-U then yes.. you will have to spend another 700 Zen to get the Fleet version up to T5-U.

    The Tier 5 Ship and the Fleet version (Tie 5.5) are two different ships so the upgrade applies to one or the other, not both.

    For this reason, it is generally considered inadvisable to upgrade any 9 console ship to T5-U. Ship Upgrades are best used on T5.5 (Fleet) ships and 10 Console C-Store Ships.

    In your case, you would have to acquire the necessary fleet modules as well as the upgrade token to get to 'true' T5-U.

    Odd, i heard that they made it so that if you upgrade the standard or fleet version of a ship to T5U, the other was automatically upgraded as well.

    That is correct.

    Buying a T5U upgrade will apply to all T5 versions of that ship.

    So Dropped the 500 Zen, bough the Module, bough the ship.... the offer of a Free upgrade is there!

    But have to build up the mastery. :(

    Time to Transfer all the gear. Get busy grinding, or get busy....grinding...

    My apologies then.

    The way it was explained to me was that upgrades to base versions didn't carry over to fleet.

    Good to see they changed that, thank you for the clarification.
