I hope the next ship for the winter event is:

http://sto.gamepedia.com/Sarr_Theln_Warship

Don't care if it is T6 or T5-U.

    Well we will be getting a Breen carrier, the apparently can summon frigates.

    Really only two Breen ships that can launch fighters, it and the Capital Ship, as I've never faced the Capital Ship I can't speak for its size and if it's to big or not. But I'd say the odds are will probably see the Sarr Theln...and will probably be tac heavy and lacking in Sci slots even though the Breen use a lot of Sci abilities.

    I was thinking the same yesterday while doing the Defra episodes.

    Also I hope they do the same with the Risan ships and your alts get your existing ships for a discount.

    I do like the events, but to grind on several toons does make it repetative and boring after a while.

    I'm actually quite curious myself as to how big the breen capital ship is, and the rezreth destroyer, and whether it'd be practical to put them in player's hands. Almost guaranteed to be the sarr theln this year, but there's still next year.

    I'm sure we'll get an account wide discount like with the risian ships. I think you've actually been able to unlock the discount on the chel grett and plesh brek for a while now by logging on to a character who has one, although obviously it won't do anything until the winter event goes live.

    Why do we always have to have new shiny ships? It's getting SO old and tired. New mission, new ship. New expansion, multiple new ships. Seasonal event, ****ING SHIPS. The shipstorm we have here might be the biggest contributor to the powercreep issue we have.

    Just saying.
    My Old Blog about things that could and should have been added when I wrote it. Not sure what I want to do with it now. I'll just keep it available now that most of it is outdated.

    The posted link only have 3 FT 2 AFT. No way would I want to grind for such a ship. Need 4/4 weapons and good turn rate 10 to 15 min. They should build a new T6 Winter Ship for 2014 like they did for the Summer Even 2014.

    Then don't grind for it... I've not bothered with either of the existing Winter ships as they were not worth the effort IMO - mainly since I detest doing the Winter 'running' race...

    If this year's ship is indeed a Science-focused carrier, I will definately consider it as I have a Romulan Sci in serious need of a T5U/T6 science vessel...
    The entitlement is strong in these forums...

    The player ships are different then the npc ones (the last 2 ship rewards)

    npc = http://sto.gamepedia.com/Chel_Grett_Cruiser
    Player = http://sto.gamepedia.com/Breen_Chel_Grett_Warship

    npc = http://sto.gamepedia.com/Plesh_Brek_Frigate

    I've bought the last two Winter Event ships...they're not bad exactly, but there hasn't been a ship yet that makes me change from my Mobius, which I've setup and keep improving on. I usually can't be bothered to collect the bits and pieces you need to claim the ship and end up furiously hitting the lock boxes for Lobi Crystals. I would much rather the Winter Event be a bit like the Rep System and give you a piece of equipment for your existing ship...like if the Breen Energy Dissipater had been a Universal Console, etc. Despite the temptation, I'm going to try not to spend any money this Christmas...on STO at any rate.

    That's not all we get. There are also always new event activities, costumes, accolades, etc. Other events give doffs. Ships are just one part of the reward.

    As to the why, it is what the majority of players seem interested in. They are the big sellers in this game. I'm not intending to speak for you or anyone, hence "seem". But I don't see a $30 costume or any thousand response thread about art or the pie eating minigame. I do see massive passion around the canon ships, about favorite faction ships, about wanting sci ships for kdf, or a tier 5 Connie, or the issues with the galaxy class etc. I see more passion around ships than everything else combined.

    And I have to assume that is why we get new ships.

    Plus, cross-faction ships are a great way to give kdf and roms something they might not otherwise have development resources allocated to.

    Not fond of the design to be honest, but it tops an armed love boat.
    This program, though reasonably normal at times, seems to have a strong affinity to classes belonging to the Cat 2.0 program. Questerius 2.7 will break down on occasion, resulting in garbage and nonsense messages whenever it occurs. Usually a hard reboot or pulling the plug solves the problem when that happens.

    When I think about everything we've been through together,

    maybe it's not the destination that matters, maybe it's the journey,

     and if that journey takes a little longer,

    so we can do something we all believe in,

     I can't think of any place I'd rather be or any people I'd rather be with.

    the summer event is a different animal, it is all about fun and R&R, that's why one ship is like a race car and the other is like a cruise liner.

    winter ships are about dull and cold hence breen ships.

    having said that they are starting to run low on breen ships but they have a few yet so we are ok for a couple more years.

    Interesting, but I don't think I'll be using these ships. To bad they just can't build a new vessel for Winter Event 2015 T6. Still should be fun at the winter wonderland.

    Coolheadal, the Chel Gret is hands down one of the most versatile ships in the game. I, and many others that have used it, agree. The Plesh Brek is its own subset of awesome, and it is QUITE formidable. My only qualms revolve around the paper thin hull and the raider status of the ship -- when it has no cloak and clearly can't be a raider because it gets mired in front-line skirmishes face-to-face (more like an "escort" would do) before it can ever get into a flanking position to be a "raider" -- no cloak? Not a raider.

    That aside, if you run it as an escort with a TRIBBLE-ton of universal seats you'll more than have a blast with it.

    Looks aside, these are far better than many other ships in the game. I wouldn't dismiss them so quickly. Chel Gret, at least, deserves a permanent home in most peoples' armada.

    I see, thanks for the link...definitely isn't as big as I thought it may be so it's possible I suppose.

    I...I can't tell if this post is satire or not. It reads like "stop giving us fun things!" to me.
