Is anyone else having trouble completing "Of Bajor" on a Starfleet Romulan?

I've been running through the story missions on several characters, to at least finish the story up to the beginning of Delta Rising. I just reached the point where you're supposed to use the transmitter to contact DS9. And the transmitter isn't usable. While I was standing there trying to figure out if there might be a workaround, other Starfleet and KDF characters were running up to it, so I assume it's still usable.

Has anyone else had a problem with this? Is there a workaround? I'd like to finish the mission, rather than skip it. Especially since I'm almost finished with it.

I run a FEDROM and was able to complete this without issue... but that was long before the release of DR. Maybe they broke somehting... have you submitted a ticket/bug report?

Try dropping the misison and starting over. I've found this helps when things get buggy sometimes.

Gili did you talk to Mese Achebe first?

I'd done this mission a bunch of times too. But i remember one time i was rushing, or really tired or maybe the sun was in my eyes i forget what. But i missed a step and went to the transmitter consoles but i couldnt use them even though my objective said "use transmitter". It turns out that the step that i missed was talking to Mese Achebe first. Read your log carefully and talk to her. Even if you already talked to her because she is the one that gave you the quest go talk to her again.

I am certain I talked to Mesa Achebe. The mission tracker updated and the dialogue options changed, and the quest tacker step is now something like "Gather intelligence on DS9."

I honestly see no point in submitting a bug report. I have very little faith that they actually check them, and a mission breaking bug that "only" affects Starfleet Romulans (or worse, only some Starfleet Romulans) is not going to be high priority to fix.

If I recall correctly, I had the same thing happen..

Oddly enough, it was on my Rom-Fed.

I opened the map and switched instances and that fixed it for me.

Hope that helps you, not sure why this happens. Changing instances essentially forces the zone to re-load and it fixed it for me.

    Best of luck.

You need to talk to her twice

When you talk to the Colonel you finish Soil Saver or the other mission that he has you doing. Then he sends you to Mese Achebe. You talk to her and in yellow text it says something like "you need me to do anything else". Then your quest log updates to say "gather intel on dominion presence on DS9". Then you talk to her again to pick up the quest "Subspace Spyworks". Your mission log should say:

    Subspace Spyworks
    Scan Subspace Signals from DS9

If your mission log still says "gather intel blah blah DS9" it wont let you interact with those consoles. You need to pick up Subspace Spyworks and then it will let you interact with those consoles. Talk to Mese Achebe again...

Thank you, that was the problem. I had talked to her to close out the previous stage, but had failed to notice the new mission. I have done this series on many characters, but mostly over a year or more ago. So I had been skimming the mission dialogue, mostly looking for green text without really reading it.
