Wanted: Official KDF Bortasqu Uniform Code

sekritagentsekritagent Member Posts: 510 Arc User
With the release of the uniforms in Season 9.5, Cryptic has actually done a good job of publishing the official Starfleet Odyssey uniform code (https://twitter.com/Cryptic_TtC/status/490283449714888705) with instructions for making it at the tailor, with an abbreviated summary in the blog post even (http://www.arcgames.com/en/games/star-trek-online/news/detail/6003273-odyssey-&-bortasqu'-uniforms).

However as usual, the KDF gets no love. :( Am I supposed to just set the blackest option for all pieces of the Bortasqu uniform?

Also, has anyone noticed there's no General between Captain Koren and J'mpok? In Starfleet we have Admiral Quinn and in the Republic we have Admiral Kererek with the eye gash, but we appear to be without a Klingon general who has the role Martok had before he became Chancellor. I'd expect such a document to come from him or her.
Delta Rising is the best expansion ever and the players love it! No, seriously! ...Why are you laughing so hard? :(

Perhaps you are supposed to be that General? Martok was also a very hands-on person out in the field.

The lack of Klingon General doesn't really bother me, but I agree with the BortaS uniform codes.

How difficult would it have been to include this info in the post that had the Odyssey code?

I thought Cobra Comma...er uhm, S'taass was that guy. Or I guess Worf?

Could have been B'vat at least until he dies.

As for the longcoat, I had already been using 'Winter Jacket Long - Black' which is already pretty much the same thing as this new Bortasqu gitup, except a little brighter and with better texturing. :D

Let me ask first, are you a glass half full or half empty sort of person?

Because if it's the former, then 'KDF don't have a strict uniform code, so it's up to you' is the only answer possible. There is even some canon support for this, check out the DS9 episode 'Soldiers of the Empire' which has a lot of uniform variation among the Rottaran's crew.

But if you're a glass half empty sort of person, then yeah Cryptic just couldn't be arsed setting out official Bortasqu' uniform codes.

I am afraid there was none developed at all.

So it's "take the default brown uniform".

Wouldn't the default colours be the 'proper' uniform code?

I tried setting it to the darkest black and it was just too severe. I'll try changing their uniforms and reapplying to see if I get the defaults back.

I have one of my KDF characters in Black and gold trimming, and it looks really sharp, I love the way it looks.

As for "official" color scheme, I don't think there needs to be an "official" color scheme.

Adding my vote for a Klingon Uniform Code of 2410. I just got back into the game and was very impressed by the Starfleet guide. I prefer to just pick an established uniform and go, and this game has always made me crazy with too many customization options. Please devs, provide a guide for how to get our crew to look like the crew of the Bortas'qu.

There are already several guides outside of the official STO forums for getting Klingon uniforms up to canon code from the movies and television shows, so no need for that. There isn't anything out there that I can find that shows how to match the Bortas'qu ones, though.

I think the official answer from Thomas Marrone was there is no official uniform code for Klingons. But it could be worse, you could be Romulan, no uniform code, and not even a fleet uniform and variants.
The truth is, Cryptic doesn't care much for anything that's not fed.

Norway and Yeager dammit... I still want my Typhoon and Jupiter though.
JJ Trek The Kelvin Timeline is just Trek and it's fully canon... get over it. But I still prefer TAR.
